The soles of the Rykas I received were dirty and the right shoe toe was creased, obvious signs of wear. Luckily the Speedgoat 7 fixes many of my previous complaints and is a light, cushioned trail shoe that still provides a good ground feel. I have long, square shaped feet and the toe box felt slightly narrow; sizing up made the whole shoe too big, so I stuck with my traditional size and did a heel lock lace tie which helped keep the foot in place!

Walking grip is decent though and the shoes flex a good amount to not feel like you 're wearing flippers. Sizing is dead on and same as my flat freeride pro shoes. Super comfortable and the BOA is a god send. Never used boa before and want all my shoes with it. So easy to tighten them EXACTLY how I want and even easier to just pop them off with the other foot. They are very airy compared to the freeride shoes and probably best for summer riding but quick enough to dry out. I use these shoes probably a little different than most. I pair them with maglock magnetic pedals and the flat soles make grip really nice. The front pins do n't touch but they arnt needed with the grip I currently have. Only draw back for anyone else who uses maglock pedals, the cleat cutouts are tapered in the back and interfere a little with the plate bolts. I may cut some of that out and see how it works to give just a little extra room but happy as is for now. Happy with the purchase!

Note, while these say `` Wide '' for me they are actually normal width and the normal width is too narrow and painful. I wear a 10. 5D in the New Balance, and ordered the same size 3n2 and... well, ouch. Had to war the 460s for three more games. Dick's made the exchange painless and these wide variants were perfect. Lighter than the 460s, the sole gives me a little more grip in the infield and allows me to duck behind a catcher without my foot slipping back too far. Looks like they will clean up nicely too. I highly recommend. You 'll not only look professional, but be comfortable too.
