Our young family loves a day at the beach and this sun shelter is the ultimate homebase! The open floor allows the kids to play in the sand while still in the shade and then we can zip it up to keep our valuables somewhat safe when it's time to go play in the water. I ordered this screen house online at our local Dick's store to take advantage of a local discount offered through our town. I appreciated the ability to compare several other sizes, folded up and unfolded, which led me to go for this size. It showed up nearly a week EARLIER than the estimate given when ordered, and my wife and I immediately took it to our back yard to try to set it up for the first time. The instructions were clear enough and we thought we were all set, but discovered that we had inadvertently allowed a portion of the roof to be turned back over one of the roof/wall intersections. Once we fixed that, it literally popped up into shape. Even with that self- inflicted delay, we had it up in well under 5 minutes. Take down was equally easy. The main reason we went with this screen house was that our previous screen house top was held up by 4 crossing poles which did NOT support the center and turned the old house into a rain- trapping, useless mess. Not so with this design. It supports the mid- point of the roof so it drains. Looking forward to using it when we camp later this summer.

I have n't used this at the beach or in high winds yet, so I ca n't comment on its durability in those conditions. I 've used it in moderately winter conditions though( 15 mph or so) without issue. I spend an enormous amount of time at my kids' outdoor sports events, especially soccer where there is no shade. This umbrella is perfect for that. Two folding chairs will fit under this even without the ground stake pole attached. Just open it like an umbrella and throw it on the ground and it's ready to go. But if there is wind, you 'll want to use the included anchors. It's also very light for the long walks to the field.

[ My first reaction to opening this was `` Oh my gosh, this is so big, I 'm never going to use it ''. Well folks, I was wrong. Backyard party at the house? Used it. Trip to the beach? Used it. Tailgate for a hockey game? Yep. Camping trip? Absolutely. This tent is high quality and versatile. It was a little intimidating to set up initially due to the size, but once my partner and I understood how the quick- set worked, it was a breeze to set up and take down! I absolutely LOVE this tent. My friend that was 6' 0 was so happy to have a tent he could fully stand up straight in, and it kept out all of the bugs when we went to the beach. It folds up to about the same size as an easy up( maybe just a bit longer), and it light enough for one person to carry. I have n't tried to set it up by myself yet, but with two people it's super easy. I imagine that one person could do it alone, but it might be a little tricky just due to the large size and number of walls that it has. The tie downs work great, though I do want to mention that when we took it to the beach on a windy day after a big storm, we used industrial sized stakes to stake it down since we did n't want to take a chance on it blowing away. It never had a single issue with the wind, and kept everyone( and the dogs!) shaded and happy!

I have had many canopy's in the past and everyone of them has lasted a year or two until breaking. This costs a little more but is very much worth the price. The cover is thick grade canvas that will not tear. The legs are strong and long enough so I do n't hit my head every time I walk under the tent( I 'm 6' 2 ''). the bag and wheels may be the best feature of all. The wheels are wide enough so the bag with the tent wo n't tip over while pulling it and it is made of the same strong canvas as the top of the canopy.

[ Overall: I would recommend this grand shade caster system. Would I buy it again? Yes I would but I would also like an option for a extra large version. We shall see how long term this will hold up. I am hopefully and looking forward to using it more. Pros:- very lightweight- provides shade very comfortably for 2 people, chairs and stuff. Add another third person and it becomes a very tight fit. A forth person, no way.- easy setup and breakdown- looks good too- 6 tie off points( instead of just 4) which is crucial for this kind of tarp shade system.- comes with stakes and large and long plastic screws- really great company customer service( I had a major issue with my shadecaster right out of the box but they fixed it super fast and zero hassle) Cons:- slightly smaller in size to other comparable tarp shades. Wish they had one more size up from this one.- only comes with 4 sacks to fill with sand( 6 tie off points, 4 sand sacks???). Yes, I know you can use the stackes or screws BUT I would way much prefer to use the sand bags.- major issue: my 2 prop poles did not come with round end caps on them. Made it challenging to use at beach which is the first time I opened it. I enedes having to use some clothes to cap the ends so that the bare metal would n't tare into the tarp top. Bought two grandes for a beach trip this wknd and they were simply amazing. Assembly: It took us a few minutes to figure out how to put up the first one but the second pne took us all of 2 minutes! Easy peasy! Coverage: My daughter, grandson and I used one tent and there was still so much more room for at least 2 more adults. I bought the grande online from Dicks sporting goods, picked up at the South Portland store, same day. Set up was simple, stretched it out in an X pattern, flipped the cord under the sand bags and filled with sand. Poked the poles under the front corners, adjusted the bags a little bit by stretching out, then dug a small pit and buried them. I 've been doing this for three days in the coastal winds and it's been getting more efficient each time. Zero issues, stays put for hours with shifting winds when set up properly. Take down is just as simple. Storage bag is compact. 5+ stars, I 'd buy it again without a doubt and have not received anything for this review.

We had to make an unplanned purchase when our very expensive canopy was ruined in a pop up storm. This one is so much lighter and easier to set up! We used it for the rest of our beach week and it was great as long as it was n't extremely windy. Time will tell on how it holds up, but it was a great purchase for us.
