I have no intention of using these boots for riding or cleaning stalls. I will use them for Winter Walk and forays in the forests and beaches shooting( photography) wildlife. I took them out for our first snowfall walk. They are comfortable and warn. It was 20 degrees and I wore only a dress weight alpaca sock. My feet were never cold. There was plenty room for me to wear a heavier weight sock. I did encounter some wet spots along the marsh and my feet were totally dry. I will note that these boots do not have lug soles, so they were slick walking up snow covered steep slopes. This is not a knock on these boots for me. I have Yaktrax Diamond grips and Kahtoola Micro Spikes- both fit over these beefier boot. I love the ease of slipping into with the optional pull tabs( which I didn ’ t need to use.). The last pair of “ rubber boots ” I owned were snug to pull on. The liner is great. I ’ m sure these will be what the doctor ordered for my Winter Adventures. I wear 10. 5 Wide typically. The 11 and Medium width were perfect.

They ’ re tall, almost up to my knee, and fit snug around my leg( though not “ tight ”) so as not to have huge gaps where snow can get in. The Vibram Ice sole works — good traction on slippery surfaces. Note, however, these boots are not light, nor are they flexible like cheap boots — there ’ ll be no trips strolling in the mall with these. These are serious boots for serious cold.

I received my boots 6- weeks ago and have worn them a dozen times building mountain bike trails in Northern California. The boots are very comfortable, have great traction and warm in cool weather. What I like best about the boots is that I am sure footed when working on steep grades, in mud, and in thick bushes. Plus having to hike in to get to a trail section may be over a mile which is no problem with these boots, just a joy splashing through rivers, muck, you name it.

They are great boots that I only wear for short periods every day. They keep my feet dry, and mostly warm. Over the years, I 've paid attention to the fact that I need to replace them every several years despite such limited used, but now I 've been advised that one is supposed to treat them with detergent-- I kid you not-- to keep the rubber happy so it wo n't crack. My previous boots were much more bulky in the foot, which is okay for wearing for a short time or distance. These boots are much better for walking a few miles and encountering streams. They had no break- in time( immediately comfortable), and have n't given me blisters like all other boots and many shoes have. My only issue is that the neoprene snagged on a twig and ripped a hole, and I had only worn them a couple times! If this boot came with the tall calf AND thicker neoprene, that would be great!! I need my boots to hold up to thorns etc.
