I prefer the OG and Woven for flat runs, but this one has versatility for bad roads and some off- road work. It is still too unstable, for me, for single- track trail work. But for just about anything else it is great. A little less exciting than the OG, but sometimes I need that. From an appearance perspective this one looks really mean, in a good way.

I wasn ’ t sure if I would like them because I heard they were stiffer than the SL ’s but I was impressed! They are very comfortable and the waterproofing is actually really good( I ’ ve ran through 5 inches of snow and feet stayed dry). My only minor issues with the shoes: they are a little heavy( to be expected for what they added vs SL) and the lugs are pretty small. Even though they are small compared to other winter shoes, they still make the traction far superior to the SL ’s during winter runs but don ’ t expect to go on snowy /icy trails in these and not risk slipping a little. I used them to run on paved snowy/icy paths and they got the job done. Overall, really great addition for my winter runs especially at this price point!

After a less enjoyable Vaporfly 3, I was ecstatic to try these on and immediately notice the similarities to the Vaporfly 2 which was previously my favorite Nike racings shoe. “ Adding lightness, ” in the words of Lotus, is the best thing you can do whenever you already have an incredible design. Laces have improved slightly, and are still the best on the market; these don ’ t stretch and don ’ t come untied. Durability is always the tradeoff with some foams, and is the only possible criticism of this pair.

I have both the EVO SL and this shoe, the EVO SL EXO, and while they ’ re both great, the EXO has the stability the EVO lacks( but it is less breathable than the regular EVO. This is a minor point.) If you need a more stable ankle, this shoe is for you. I train daily in the regular EVOs and will now rotate with this one for longer runs. Also, this shoe is just so gorgeous!!!
