[ Over the last 12 months, when it comes to mountain biking, I have completely gone over the deep end. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology — Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

[ I bought this to replace my very old, non- MIPS Super 2r and am very happy with it. It ventilates similarly well and feels much more sturdy than the old Super. The fidlock strap is really convenient and it's very comfortable as well.

[ Comfy, good looking, solid build, definitely offers more protection than the bell super air convertible I was using previously. Much more versatile and in full face mode feels( nearly) as solid as dedicated full face I have.

[ Helmet is overall good, but the chin bar is hard to remove and reinstall. It takes a lot of effort to remove the bar and reinstallation takes a lot of alignment and adjusting to get it done right.

It also has perfect spacing to give just enough venting so there ’s no fogging on those warmer days. ... A nice addition is the adjustable visor which means this helmet will roll with just about every kind of goggle out

[ I 've used a Giro helmet since 2001. It was great but the new Oakley was really nice. Four main things that really made this helmet work for me. Loved the vents, ear cups stay in place with no pressure on my ears, brim fit for googles is great and overall fit was as though it was n't even there.

[ I ’ ve used this helmet on warm Southern California slopes and in horrid conditions in British ’s Colombia. It is extremely comfortable and the fit is exceptionally customizable, the magnetic chin strap is awesome and makes everything easy. It would entirely depend on your personal fit and how much headcover you wear under it but the helmet is not particularly warm even with the vents closed. Wearing a balaclava or skull cap barely changes the fit and you can easily fit a helmet accepting hood over it for those extra cruddy days. A nice addition is the adjustable visor which means this helmet will roll with just about every kind of goggle out there. It also has perfect spacing to give just enough venting so there ’s no fogging on those warmer days. Regarding fit I usually run on the extreme edge of medium, this helmet is perfectly true to fit and was just a hair small on me which is what I anticipated. The liner is easily removable to make room for a hat or thicker liner. All in all Oakley did a solid job on this, luckily I haven ’ t given it ’s impact resistance a solid test yet.

We do a lot of sledding and snow tubing as a family. Problem is the slope gets icy and fast real quick. I usually make the kids wear their skate helmets. Recently My husband started wear his hockey helmet i was just wearing my wool cap and my parka hood drawn tight. I began to get worried i was going to get a concussion after watching my husband wipe out and seeing his helmeted head make contact with the frozen snow. I found the smith counter and it is awesome. protects the ears and head and keeps me warm. I have wiped out once and it kept me safe

So far I love the technology and design of the helmet. I chose this one because it had the MIPS system and the honeycomb layer. I ’ m mainly wear it for crossing the street during rush hour. I ’ ve had two close calls where drivers ran red lights and don ’ t care that you are a pedestrian at all.

I 've spent a fair amount of days in this helmet riding my eBike around town. I feel super safe in this helmet knowing it passes the eBike certification! It's incredibly light weight with 2 big lightweight Koroyd panels at the side/back. Since its so light weight you truly forget you 're wearing it! I really like the magnetic Fidlock buckle and how easy it is to put on and feel secure when it snaps together- truly a one handed operation. The overall aesthetic of the helmet is perfect, I really like the clean lines and matte finish, a lot of eBike helmets seem blown up or big but this helmet keeps a nice low profile. Plus, the integrated light is so sleek- it's so nice to always have a bright light that moves with you when you 're riding from a to b in the darker hours. Overall, this is an amazing helmet for eBike commuting/riding and honestly its a great helmet for any type of urban cycling!

Very happy with my purchase of the Dispatch bike helmet... fit is great, and it is certainly more visible than my old black one( I got the orange model)... I like that it is e- bike rated as well and the rear light is a bonus.

I purchased the Smith Dispatch helmet for my 11- year- old son to wear while riding his e- bike. He recently crashed, and I truly believe this helmet saved him from a traumatic brain injury or worse. His face and body took the majority of the impact, resulting in road rash, stitches, and a broken tooth, but his head was completely unscathed. The helmet itself made it out with only scrapes and a tiny crack in the visor. Seeing the condition of the rest of his injuries really put into perspective how much protection this helmet provided. I ’ m incredibly grateful we chose this helmet, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for quality head protection for their child.

90% of my rides are commuting, in all weather. I like that this helmet has minimal vents to maximize protection and to keep my head warmer in cool weather. The Koroyd is lighter than styrofoam and is safer. My complaints are that I ca n't mount a headlight and the taillight is n't bright.

Just had a 4 day trip with everything from Spring conditions, HEAVY winds and powder days. This helmet had a great fit, was easy on the ears( not sore like helmets in the past) and had a great look. [ Bought this as I wanted a little beefier dome protection after taking big hit mid- season with my last helmet and needed new one. Chose matte petrol and was happy to see what this color really looks like, a matted darker blue with a very faint iridescence that is really cool, but not flashy. Haven ’ t seen anyone around with this color helmet, as doesn ’ t have two tone color scheme many of the other quantum ’s around. Helmet fits great, 58cm head, and large size has enough room for balaclava I use when colder. Very comfy without looking like bobblehead. ODT Chips audio fits great for sound on mountain and venting is solid. I use Smith I/OX goggs and perfect integration as one might expect... no gaps, no fog, no issues. Great helmet option for increased dome protection!

[ Okay, I 'm in the `` This helmet fits great! '' camp. I 've read several reviews about bad fitment but I did not find that to be the case. The helmet has an expandable rib on either side of the helmet. When placing it on my head I squeezed the bottom ends/sides toward the base of my skull while tightening the adjustment dial on the back. At first it was a little too tight but in about five minutes or so it felt great and I never needed to adjust it again. I just skied five days straight in Aspen and the two days it snowed were pretty darn cold. The helmet kept my head both warm and dry and I never felt the need to take it off until lunch or the end of the day. I use Dragon goggles and there were no incompatibility issues at all.

I love this helmet! I am a Ski Instructor in Aspen, Colorado and wear this helmet daily during the winter. It comfortably hugs my narrow long head and the magnetic clasp can easily be attached and released while wearing mittens or gloves. It also adjusts quickly to accommodate a balaclava. Every head is different but if it fits you will be stoked.

A fidlock buckle helmet features a unique magnetic closure system that allows for easy and quick fastening and unfastening. This innovative design provides a secure fit while also enabling users to adjust the helmet with one hand, making it convenient for activities like skiing or biking. The fidlock system enhances usability without compromising safety, ensuring the helmet stays securely in place during use.
Helmets equipped with fidlock buckles offer several advantages, including ease of use and improved comfort. The magnetic closure allows for quick adjustments, making it simple to put on or take off the helmet, even with gloves on. Additionally, this type of buckle often provides a more secure fit, which can enhance overall safety during sports and outdoor activities.
Yes, fidlock buckle helmets are versatile and can be used for a variety of sports, including skiing, snowboarding, biking, and more. Their design prioritizes both safety and convenience, making them a popular choice among athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. However, it's important to choose a helmet that is specifically designed for the sport you plan to engage in to ensure optimal protection.
Fidlock buckle helmets differ from traditional buckle helmets primarily in their closure mechanism. While traditional buckles can be cumbersome and require two hands to fasten, fidlock buckles utilize a magnetic system that allows for one-handed operation. This can make fidlock helmets more user-friendly, especially in cold weather conditions where dexterity may be limited.
When selecting a fidlock buckle helmet, consider factors such as fit, comfort, and intended use. Ensure the helmet fits snugly without being too tight and check for adjustable features that enhance comfort. Additionally, look for helmets that meet safety standards for your specific activity, as well as those that offer ventilation and padding for added comfort during use.
