The rental skates at our local ice skating rink left a lot to be desired. They were uncomfortable and the laces were shredded to tatters and nearly impossible to tie properly without destroying the few remaining threads. So, we decided to buy our 7 year old daughter these skates for her Learn to Skate lessons. These have been working out great! They are very comfortable( nice padding around ankle) and work well. We got them sharpened prior to first use at the rink ’s pro shop, of course. I ’ m not saying it ’s all due to the skates, but my daughter is one of the best skaters in her class! We are very happy with this purchase and will buy again when she outgrows this size. For reference, she wears a size 1 sneaker and we bought the size 2 skates which give her a little wiggle room to grow into( we ’ re using thick socks in the meanwhile).

I bought these skates for my daughter who started figure skating lessons about a month prior. I did take them to be sharpened after I received them also requested heat molding to break them in faster. My daughter loves her skates! She skates very well in them. And Dicks sells them at a great price with coupons! My initial order was too big. I called and Dicks exchanged them easily for me. I ended up getting the same size shoe that my daughter normally wears.

Don ’ t know much about skates, but I ordered these and have been happy. Was skating with a chair with my son day 1( we ’ re all first time skaters), and the next day was able to go on my own. They look nice and seem to be made well. They are a bit uncomfortable as I break them in. I ’ ve heard I need to bake them, and will take them to get sharpened as well at our local hockey equipment store.
