I was dropping 8 and 10 ounce verticle jigs down to 150 feet and the rod performed excellently. Strong backbone, yet sensitive enough to feel the bite. No need to spend hundreds of$ for a jigging rod. I caught several large Amberjacks with this rod and it did a great job controlling the fight. I use 3in and 4in Big Hammers as my go to swimbait on 1/4th and 3/8th ounce swimbait heads. They have a great tail thump/ body wobble that it just right, not too little and not too much. The tail swims on the fall and does it's thing on the slowest of retrieves. I really like the keeled body because it helps it get down to the bottom quick, rather than round body swimbaits that might suspend in comparable situations with a ton of line out or in moving current. They are reasonably durable and they have a great color selection. They are literally the only swimbait I use on a swimbait jighead!
