If your an avid fishermen or just a beginner this bait is great for catching big bass. The key to this bait is work it slow, and take your time. Also, let fish hit the bait and take it underwater before attempting to set the hook. Follow those two easy tips and you 'll catch big bass almost everywhere.

I 've used this frog in multiple top- water situations here in the Arizona lakes and it's not yet failed to do its job. I would recommend bending out the hooks a bit and trimming the tails a bit, but otherwise, a solid lure.

So Booyah advertises that this frog is still heavy enough to cast with bait casting gear. I assure you, they 're correct and that any average bait casting gear can absolutely cast this frog! And with the right set up, you can cast it a country mile!!! This product is equally built when compared to it's big brother `` Pad Crasher '' and both are top quality hollow body frogs for a more than reasonable price. These baits get noticed when they are in the water and catch fish! Do n't underestimate the `` Jr '' it's smaller profile will absolutely still catch `` the big fish ''! The full size Pad Crasher is great when hunting that lunker or looking for the kicker fish to take to the scales, but the Jr. is the one in your arsenal that you 'll want to focus on first to fill the live- well or for a fun day of fishing. It's compact size and profile are equally as temping as the Pad Crasher, but to a greater audience of the little swimmers below it. If you do n't have a smaller profile frog, get one. If you have n't tried a smaller frog, try it! Or if your just starting to use frogs, start with this one! Thank you Booyah Baits!

These are great bass fishing lures. ... Good Lures ... Very friendly staff- always courteous- usually don ’ t have to walk around looking for help. ... A black jitterbug after dusk is a guaranteed bass

Chef B.
I 've been using jitterbugs and hulapoppers all my life. They work so well that I wear them out. A black jitterbug after dusk is a guaranteed bass catcher. One thing I 've learned: remove the forward barbs. It unscrews. Bass hit the tail of the lure or swallow it whole. All the forward barb does is cause bleeding( mine). Save the forward barb incase the rear one breaks.

A hollow body frog lure is a type of topwater bait designed to mimic the appearance and movement of frogs, making it an effective choice for attracting predatory fish. These lures are typically used in weedy or shallow waters where fish are likely to ambush their prey. Anglers often retrieve them with a series of jerks or pauses to create a realistic swimming action that entices fish to strike.
Hollow body frog lures are usually made from soft, flexible materials that allow for realistic movement in the water. The outer body is often constructed from durable plastic or rubber, while the interior is hollow to help the lure float. Some models may also feature additional components like rattles or weighted inserts to enhance their effectiveness and attract fish.
Hollow body frog lures offer several advantages, including their ability to navigate through heavy cover without snagging, making them ideal for fishing in dense vegetation. Their topwater action creates a visual and auditory appeal that can trigger aggressive strikes from fish. Additionally, their realistic design and movement can effectively mimic natural prey, increasing the chances of a successful catch.
Hollow body frog lures excel in warm weather conditions, particularly during the summer months when fish are more active and feeding near the surface. They are particularly effective in areas with thick vegetation, lily pads, or shallow waters where fish are likely to hide. Anglers often use them during early morning or late evening hours when fish are more likely to be hunting for prey.
To effectively fish with hollow body frog lures, anglers can employ a variety of techniques such as walking the dog, which involves a series of quick jerks to create a side-to-side motion. Another technique is to pause the retrieve to allow the lure to sit still, mimicking a frog resting on the surface. Experimenting with different retrieval speeds and patterns can help determine what works best in a given fishing environment.
Choosing the right size of hollow body frog lure depends on the type of fish you are targeting and the specific fishing environment. Larger lures may be more effective for bigger predatory fish, while smaller lures can be better suited for finesse fishing or targeting smaller species. It's also important to consider the size of the prey in the area; matching the lure size to the local frog population can enhance your chances of success.
