I like the jacket for downhill( lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb:- The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold.- The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering.- It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath.- Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement:- There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket.- The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer.- It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.

[ I recently bought this for the Minnesota cold. It is larger than average by one size. I normally wear Medium and I had to order to the small which is an excellent fit. I 'm 5' 9, 180s. I 'm not a fan of the cinched cuffs and the puffy appearance, and it would be much better if it had a shell like the parka version. It's the warmest jacket I own and the others I own are jackets made with various warm materials such as goose down, primaloft and thermore. It's definitely worth buying!

[ This jacket is WARM. Definitely gets limited use in our mild PNW winters, but we 've had mid- teen temps with single- digit windchill this week and this jacket has kept me very comfortable. I 'm 6' 3 '', ~190 lbs-- I originally ordered a Large Tall, but found it to be huge so swapped for a Medium and it's perfect. My only gripe is that the gold sleeve lining tends to hitch a ride on whatever layer is beneath it and peeks out when putting the jacket on or trying to get at your watch. Not a huge deal, but could be mitigated by a row of stitching an inch or two up the sleeve. Furthermore, the gold lining feels remarkably thin and I wonder about its longevity... to be determined! I was looking for a new winter coat because the Columbia one I had was 4 years old and the pocket tore and it was getting worn out going through 4 winters. I finally got this water proof one. It's soooo nice. I love it. The winter coat I had before my new one was not water proof so I 'm very happy to have purchased a water proof coat finally. I do commute and live in the city so I think this coat is going to be great. Columbia brand is amazing. Hope it last me years like my other jackets and coats.

This coat is warm! I 'm in northeastern ohio and this will be good for the colder days of winter and for skiing. I actually got too hot while wearing it in the grocery store. I like the color and the overall look. The sleeves are much too long for me( I can often wear petite), but at the same time I had to go to a size for it to fit my hips. So, this is all to say that I wish it was smaller on top and bigger on bottom rather than a straight fit.

The design features on this adorable jacket are SO GOOD! I love the versatility of this piece. l enjoy the vest, especially once I determined how to create the vest that it can change into. This is one of the more convenient running items I have ever purchased and I love it. I also like the fit, as it sits right on the waist area. I usually prefer for these to go slightly below the waist, but this one is nice as is. If you are running and get too warm the ability to change it to a vest is so convenient. This will allow you to not have to drop the piece off at some random location during a race to have to come back and find, hopefully no one has taken it.
