I purchased this seat in hopes that it would give me a little more support than the original seat in my kayak. I did n't even remove the old seat. I just inflated the lumbar back( fabulous) I must say and sat it in the kayak over the original seat. The new seat is a little higher on my back and the lumbar area gives me the support for a very comfortable ride. I have had back surgery in the low back area and when I would spend time on the water, I always had back pain. I tried flotation cushions to raise me up higher or behind me to give additional support. Now that I have this particular seat I no longer have to put any additional padding anywhere. I am so glad to have found this seat. Now I can kayak for any amount of time I want. Great buy, great price, for such a remarkable cushion.

I have a regular seat and later on learnt about this lumbar support seat. I ordered one and was glad I did cause after a few hours on the water the lumbar seat definitely helps prevent a sore lower back. I use it in my Advanced Elements Convertible( 2 person) kayak. I would recommend it and trust me you wo n't regret it. Its worth the money.

[ Found the right kayak for me. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 and 235lbs 73 years old. Needed the length and cockpit size for comfort and stability and tracking. Yet can easily carry the kayak both assembled or in the box.( With backpack or straps) Performed well in a protected( calm) salt marsh on the North Fork of LI. It ’s not for windy or choppy conditions but mostly have paddled calm water for last 35 years in hard shell boats so given the portability and performance, might be giving up my hard shell…. third time assembling got it down to 12 minutes!

[ We purchased the Beach Sport kayak for the ability to bring Tippi, our Golden Doodle along with us! We had our maiden voyage in Alamitos Bay, and paddled around Naples Canals in Long Beach California! Tippi loved it and got her sea legs going fine! We love to include her in our adventures, and the other Kayaks did not have room for her. The boat felt stable and solid for paddling in the nice calm bay. My husband paddled Mombo( the name for the new black kayak). I paddled his Coast xt — that one is a pain to assemble,( compared to my Bay ST), but the paddle is sweet and fast. My Bay St started leaking, which is also what spurred the new purchase. I paddled much more than my husband, so the Coast is in pretty good shape — but I noticed a little compromise on one of the folding corners! I might need to repair it before it leaks. [ I absolutely love my new Oru Kayak! It arrived promptly, as promised. I ordered the bundle with the backpack, oar and cell phone waterproof bag; I also added the life vest and safety whistle. I 've had this kayak for a few years now and we absolutely love it!! I weigh almost 300 lbs and it is very stable. My daughter has a pink youth kayak and we lay down the seats in our Honda CRV( 2008) put mine in nose first, seatbelt through the hand grip, then put hers in upside down and backwards, attaching her hand grip at the nose of her kayak to the back hand grip of my kayak. They both fit perfectly with all our camping stuff underneath. The seat back is so comfortable and worth it!! I got a lifevest that's shorter in the back specifically for kayaking and we can be on the lake all day. I hope this review helps someone else know you can still enjoy kayaking and the outdoors even if you do n't have a camper or truck to haul it all in. We fit just perfectly! Best investment ever!!

This kayak is well- loved — I 've owned it for just about 8 years now — and it just a fun little kayak. Tracking straight takes some time to master, it will seem impossible at first, and even then, it is never great, but it is incredibly stable, you can stand up in it and fish, and easy to transport. It's built like a tank.

I got tired of my inflatable kayak( too heavy, too much effort to get out on the water) and decided to upgrade to this foldable. It is lighter than expected, so I can haul it around with no problem, even folded out, and I ’ m a fairly petite woman. Now I can get out on the water fast and without much effort, though unfolding it for the first time took a while to figure out. By the second time, it was easy. Now I just need to figure out how to be more graceful getting in and out of it on the dock!

I have used this twice now on a slow moving river, and it's perfect. I 'm grateful for both the instructions and the video( but note: the video is n't for the Lake Sport). I recommend setting it up indoors first, just to get the hang of it. I 'm glad I spent a little more for the Lake Sport to get the footrest and the better seat. I also recommend the bundle, which came with a shoulder strap, paddle, and dry bag, and they had a deal with a free PFD too( which is a nice one). The whole thing is easy to carry( at least for short distances) and fits snugly into the trunk of my hatchback.

I coupled with a MinnKota 45 lb. thrust trolling motor and it moves me around well. I ’ m 5 ’ 10 ” and weigh 200. I carry a 10 lb anchor which I store under the battery cover to distribute the weight. The 360 swivel works well for me. I am 70 and do not stand up while fishing but I know much younger people could. I ’ ve landed several 5 lb. bass on an ultralight rod in it.

This isnt an inexpensive kayak but you get more than what you pay for in a stabile one person fishing craft that is packed with good features. Are the flaws? Sure there are some things they might want to consider such as the raised track handles put quit a bit on leverage on the hull but having those tracks there opens up all kinds of possibilities. This was my first yak and I ca n't imagine I could have bought any better this boat is as much fun as it is functional. One suggestion for future models is a sucken battery well to lower the center of gravity a bit and to help keep the battery in place.

I bought a 8ft lifetime kayak for my daughters birthday( larger one, she grew out of her lifetime kid kayak) and only a display kayak was available, except a hook plug was missing for attaching the seat( water was getting into the inner kayak).. I went online and sent an email explaining, they were nice and let me know they were sending me a replacement with no extra charge to me. buying from lifetime has been the best decision I 've ever made!! We love these kayaks! They are the first ones we have ever had and we like the features that they have. Waterproof storage comes in handy for our phones and keys. The straps on the back hold our life vests nicely. The reclining seatbacks are nice as well, except one of straps sometimes breaks free if you lean back to hard. Might have to fix that one. This is an absolutely excellent kayak for beginners and seasoned kayakers alike. The width of the Passage offers exceptional stability, while its shorter length makes it easy to maneuver through both large and small bodies of water. The seat is surprisingly comfortable even when sitting for 3+ hours. Although this is not classed as an angler kayak, the built- in paddle keeper makes it easy to bring a rod and reel along if desired. The back scupper holes also fit my poles perfectly, so they may as well be flush mounted rod holders! My only qualm with this yak is the lack of storage/a dry well- if it had that, it would be the perfect yak. This has been a great purchase, and I love that it fits both myself( 5' 1 '') and my 30lb pup. It's also fairly light and not as much of a pain to lug around as I expected, which is a big bonus!

The kayak felt incredibly stable, even sitting on top, and paddling was smooth and easy. The departure was seamless, and the back support was very comfortable throughout my time on the water. I ’ ve used other kayaks previously and left the experience feeling sore and stiff, but not with this one. I spent over an hour in it and felt great when I was done kayaking!
