Left hand wind is a must for me. I am right handed but never figured out why so many people choose to cast with their right hand and then switch hands so they can wind with their right hand. The size and weight are also just right as I mainly fish for striped bass and blue catfish with this reel perfect on a seven foot medium action rod and 15 lb. test mono. I caught a fish on my second cast and anticipate catching many more in the future.

X. for something like 20 years, fishing freshwater for anything up to Lake Ontario Salmon to Saltwater Plugging for Bluefish, Striped Bass and Wahoo from boat off NJ coast. `` BEST '' fishing reel ever made! During all these years of catching fish up to 30 pounds, it has never let me down. Just got another Rod for largemouth Bass and beach fishing in the Gulf, so it needs a good reel.
