I bought the 3000 size reel to do some bass fishing and inshore and it's been performing great. The other day I hooked into a massive red in a pond and it ran straight for open water, taking out about 120 yds of line. I was worried about being spooled, but thankfully this drag stack had my back and I was able to fine tune it in order to put just enough pressure to control the fish and not break off.

Switched from the Penn Battle 3 to the stradic. This reel puts the Penn to shame. I will be updating my other set ups with the stradic also.

The Shimano Stradic is a superior reel. I have the 1000, 2500, and the 4000. It's the best reel for the money.
