The best gear in my opinion is simple, easy- to- use, and lightweight-- that is exactly why I love the Link Personal Anchor System from BD. The Link is the perfect safety device for building up an anchor for a top rope climb, or taking down the anchor when we 're finished with a sport route. I pair the Link with two Positron Screwgate Carabiners, which easily fit in the chains on most climbing routes. This system is lightweight and easy to manage on any climb.

Super solid piece of gear. A bit spendy, but pick it up and you wo n't be disappointed.

Matt
I like this better than Metolious' version for ice and alpine climbing. The material is more supple. I like Metolious' longer version for rock climbing. If you are not extending your belay device on rappel you should. Using this it is easy to extend and backup your rappel as well as to test the system before you unclip from the anchor. It is simply a better way. It is also nice to always have a way to go in direct quickly for both cleaning anchors and multi- pitch climbing.

Ethan G
I bought this a couple of years ago and have been using it with great success. Simple design does n't get in your way when climbing or when anchoring or cleaning. Different lengths are a huge help for cleaning. Light enough that you do n't notice it until you need it. Great for cleaning on single pitch and the few multi- pitch routes done. I 'm just now getting a new one because I took a slight( 1') fall on it( I know I know) with no visible damage but just it's not worth the risk.

Rojmahal
I love it. Attach it between both tie- in loops on every climb outside. I may not use it on every climb, but I do use it every day climbing. It must be part of your gear. So many ways to utilize this piece of kit. Experiment and love it.

[ Great Rope, i bought this but have not had time to use it before writing this review. This should be a great rope and i am happy i bought it.

TK13
[ Got this rope specifically for ice climbing in Lake City. It worked out perfectly! Without it it would have been a challenge to get the master point over the edge. The rope was easy to tie and untie knots in and was a good width to handle. I 'd highly recommend this rope.

Rock jock
[ This rope is great for rappelling. It runs threw belay devices like a Grgi and atc well also, ties knots well. Its a bit stiff but I like that in a static rope.

[ If trees are in short supply this allows you to double hang side by side. It is nice because it does obstruct the second person ’s view, like when you stack hammocks

[ Bought these to see if they would keep our ENO hammocks close but not touching. These are great! We can talk, hold hands and still breathe.. no pressure points.

[ I made the switch from tent camping to hammocks, but for the times when my wife comes camping, she didn ’ t want to be off by herself. So, voila! The fuse allows you to have separate hammocks, yet still hang together. Happy wife, happy camping life!

The ribs on these really stiffen them up to handle all kinds of abuse. Amazing their strength given how light they are. You must try them out!

There are other similar snow stakes, but this is the best of its kind-- lightest, no burrs, and a little elegant.
5
Treponema
I have used these stakes for several years now. The work great for snow and sand. One year I had an experimental ultra- lightweight tent out at Little Sahara. As many will attest, the wind can come out of nowhere and blow ferociously. The stakes held, but, sadly, the tent did not. I ca n't say enough about these.

Dale
Serious sand stakes with great holding power. Doubles as a trowel.

Easily equalizes 3 point trad anchors. ... Fast and Easy Anchor Builds ... [ I 've got both the long and shorter version of the Equalizer and find them to be ideal
5
Matt
[ I carry two of these at 15ft length. Easily equalizes 3 point trad anchors. If one piece is to far away add a runner. Considerably more compact then cordalette. Follower wraps it around their hand and stuffs it away. If used as top rope anchor and weighted just add a beiner in the overhand to untie with ease.
5
Corey
[ Been looking at this awhile. Finaly picked it up. Great set up and perfect extra lenth for tr set up. Perfect for equalizing multiple ancors
5
JimB
[ I 've got both the long and shorter version of the Equalizer and find them to be ideal anchors. They 're fast, durable, and the sewn loops give you added flexibility without adding extra knots. Tucking into their own pouch to stay out of the way is a bonus.

ToddB74
[ I purchased this because a fellow climber uses it and swears by it. It is very versatile and can perform many tasks in a small, compact package easily carried on a climbing harness.

The ability to use multiple lengths is helpful to balance yourself on any funky anchors that are offset from each other. ... There are 1, 000 options for personal anchors and this is a solid choice for a beginner like
5
CoolGuy
[ I primarily use this to anchor in at the top of a sport climb. It definitely works as expected. For redundancy, I use a regular sling because it's way cheaper, but pair it with the adjustable Metolius PAS. The ability to use multiple lengths is helpful to balance yourself on any funky anchors that are offset from each other.
5
Seth
[ These allow you to adjust anchor length quickly when needed. I have used them extensively for guiding canyoneering and climbing. You can easily clip a loop further out, after connecting into the rope, to weight test yourself before actually disconnecting from your anchor system when rappeling. I have purchased 3 so far and I think these Metolius PAS are the best.
5
KeithB
[ I have not yet used this, but the build seems very solid. I got the one with the yellow end ring so that it would stand out more.. as compared to the blue with green end ring.
5
tohubohu
[ I bought my first Metolius Pas about 10 years ago. Several years have passed since retiring it, and I decided to buy another one. Feels just as solid as the first one. Extremely happy with this useful piece of gear.

[ Works well for anchoring and repelling. Light weight and easy to fit onto harness loops. Nice colors and comes in two options so can differentiate them.
Lightweight anchors are designed to provide stability without adding excessive weight to your gear. They are ideal for smaller boats or kayaks, making them easy to transport and deploy. Additionally, their lighter design often allows for quicker retrieval and easier handling in various water conditions.
Lightweight anchors are typically made from durable materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, or high-strength plastic. These materials ensure that the anchor is both strong enough to hold in various conditions and light enough for easy handling. The choice of material can also affect the anchor's corrosion resistance and overall longevity.
Lightweight anchors are particularly effective in calm waters or for temporary mooring situations, such as fishing or recreational boating. They are well-suited for smaller vessels where weight savings are crucial. However, they may not perform as well in rough or fast-moving waters, where a heavier anchor might be necessary for stability.
Choosing the right size of lightweight anchor depends on the type of vessel you have and the conditions in which you will be using it. Consider the weight of your boat, the water depth, and the expected weather conditions. It's important to select an anchor that provides adequate holding power without being overly cumbersome.
Lightweight anchors are generally suitable for smaller watercraft such as kayaks, canoes, and small boats. However, their effectiveness can vary based on the type of water and the anchor's design. For larger vessels or in challenging conditions, a heavier anchor may be more appropriate to ensure safety and stability.
