Kept all my stuff dry when it rained. This cover is very durable.

5 HLBDogDayz
Bought this for a trip to Europe. Have not used it yet but folds small and stitching and construction looks well done.

5 jgess
I ca n't ask anything more from a rain cover, especially in regard to the fit. For reference, I have an Osprey Aether 70 in a medium and this pack cover in a large. I 've used this cover occasionally over the course of a few seasons and it has held up in both pouring rain and brambles. If you 're looking for a lightweight, quality, and feature- rich pack cover then this is the one for you.

5 Toomgis
It unpacks and packs very easily. The rain cover I got looks more dark green. It has yellow trim, and the handle on the attached stuff sack is yellow. You put the cover on, slide the waist belt through elastic loops that tighten the cover, clip the strap around the bag, and you 're all set. It looks a bit big, but it is made to fit a smaller as well as bigger bag.

5 comtnclimber
Perfect rain cover! It keeps your pack dry, easy to throw on and has elastic band with clip to stay in place!

Used this weekend. Other than the sounds, did n't know it was raining.

I purchased this as a gift for my son in law. When he saw it, he was one happy camper! He and his entire family( wife& 2 teens) camp with hammocks now rather than bulky tents and sleep better.

5 tikitiki
The perfect compliment to the ENO Double Nest hammock. Only weighs around 20 ounces but ENO also makes a silicon impregnated ultra light ProFly Sil for the ounce counters. ENO for life!

[ i have bought this rainfly so my Husky siberian could stay with us during the camping season and it exceeded my expectations! Its well tough of perfect fit this new model has better door configuration then the previous and also seems bigger. i just came back from 9 days in BC and the rainfly was put to the test rain- dust- wind and humidity no problem. we put a carpet in the extension to enjoy the extra place and used it as storage area when we were out on the trails to keep our chairs and wood dry. Could not ask for more makes me wan na go camping all the time

5 Dr P
[ Glad I purchased this product, easy to set up, performed above expectation. Have used it on over night and multi day hikes so far. Next up, a 7 day adventure.

5 Just Chillin
I have been using this with my Copper Spur UL3 and it works great. It's a great addition to my lightweight collection. The included instructions are a little tricky to follow, and there were no great setup videos online. Practice setting up in the light before bringing it camping. Great is you have dogs and do n't want them messing up the inside of your tent.

[ I have old other brand's inter tent but the fly is broken. So, I decieded to purchase a fly instead of broken's one. I see this can meet fulfill my requirement. It's perfect match with my old inter tent and the vestiblue can place equipment to prevent stolen by `` camping thief ''. Highly recommend this product!( I will upload photo later)

5
While a bit heavier than just the standard rainfly( which completely makes sense) it is not much heavier. This is great for trips where you expect more rain and/or plan to have a base camp. I really like that it is a full rainfly and large vestibule and not just an add on to the existing fly.

5 Quentin
I wanted to have a rainfly that allowed me to keep my gear outside of the tent but protected it from the elements and this rainfly did the trick. I have used my copper spur hv ul 2 with hotel rainfly backpacking so many times and I have never been disappointed. I even used it on a 12 day backpacking venture through Philmont and it was awesome.

5 That Slackline Girl
Such a good addition. Disclaimer: I 'm a biased BA fan. The sleeping bags, pads and tents I 've had from Big Agnes have been phenomenal, and as far as I 'm concerned you 'll be happy with any purchase. That being said, this addition is perfect if you have big backpacks you need to be weather safe under a fly, and if you want to wake up and stick your feet out of your tent and get your shoes on without getting wet, if you like leaving your shoes outside or a box of food or an instrument but do n't want morning dew or rain on it, and if you travel in pairs it sure is nice to have the space to move in and out without feeling cramped. As someone who likes the small, lightweight and practicality of the Copper Spur, I think the Copper Hotel is a great addition to have more space without needing a bulkier tent.

This was a great addition to my tent. Just enough extra room to stow gear during bad weather. It adds a bit of weight but is worth it

[ This can be used for so many different things! I bought one after using my friend ’s as a sun shade on a beach outing, and now I ’ ve used it as a tarp for sleeping in my hammock and as a poor- man ’s bimini on my sailboat( draped over the boom to create shade). It can do anything! Super strong seams and stitching, no concern using it in a little bit of wind.

5 Joyo
[ I just purchased this in the 9x9. Have used the 12x12 and the 16x16 for a number of years. They ’ ve changed the color a couple of time but features are unchanged in the time I ’ ve been using them. Square shape is only way to go. Kudos for configuring this way. So many tarps are rectangular. For a haystack, sure. Fine. For a shelter, the square has far more setup options. There ’s heavy tieouts on the four corners and lighter ones along the edges. Well spaced. A little stretch to keep it taught.. important in rain. I don ’ t know if they market this as a rain shelter but that ’s all I use it for. The big one if camping next to a car, the 12x12 for rafting. This 9x9 for backpacking. Two lbs may seem like quit a bit to pack for a tarp but covered area is pretty great. And large enough to configure in some version of a ‘ storm ’ mode if conditions warrant. I have a HMG DCF tarp. It ’s 8. 5x8. 5 with no stretch. Definitely harder to get a taught pitch. It ’s light as a feather but that extra half foot per side is more than it sounds on this Kelly. 12% more covered area even though only 6% more length.. ya know if you get all STEM about it... I won ’ t go into costs per square foot between the two and it ’s not even really a fair comparison given the different materials used but if your not into packing a piece of square fabric that costs as much as a pair of skis, this is one of the best values out there right now.

5 Nick14
[ The 9 ’ tarp is still pretty big and a great size for a standard camp site or small group. Lots of points for attaching clips and guy lines. Fairly light but not super light. Comes with its own carrying bag that it fits into easily.

5 Shortcake
[ We bought this tarp for backpacking. It ’s light weight and easy to use. Just a quick, easy up shelter. We can ’ t wait to use it for a multitude of adventures!

5 Pete
I ca n't say enough good things about this jacket. I 've owned countless name brand rain jackets specifically designed for outdoor activity, but this one is by FAR the best I 've used. There are countless details that set this rain jacket apart from other brands. First, it's remarkably comfortable. The inside liner makes the jacket/skin contact feel like a normal jacket as opposed to the discomfort plastic feel of other brands. The jacket is quiet, and hardly has any sound typically associated with rain jackets. The hood works wonderfully, fits well around my head, and does n't block my vision when looking left and right. The sleeve design around the wrist even allows for you to check your watch with ease, but effortlessly slides back over based on the well positioned elastic. The sleeves do n't ride up while casting a fly rod either. I waited to write a review until I 'd spent some time on the water fishing with it as well. The jacket performed equally as well in a 5 hour down pour while I waded a NC trout stream as it does walking around town. I had no restrictions fly casting, and landing fish. I remained dry after fishing for 5 hours in a constant downpour, and it breathed well the entire time. I enjoy all of my Free Fly products, but this jacket is my favorite product yet. If you have any need for a quality rain jacket with extreme comfort, range of motion, and legit rain resistance then this is a must purchase.

5 RonC
Received a little late due to shipping SNAFU, but Elliot at FFA had another in the mail quickly. Once I received the jacket, I was well impressed with its quality and impeccable attention to detail. I can not overstate that, as there was not an errant thread, fabric blemish, or ill- bonded seam whatsoever. A word of caution to those who might overthink the sizing- it is definitely true to size, so plan accordingly if you intend to layer underneath. 50 degree downpours or light rain are what it excels at. Much colder, and you ’ ll be dry and cold, as when properly fitted and NOT up- sized, you won ’ t have enough room to comfortably layer. Mine fits exceptionally well with no binding or hiking up during practically any activity. It fits best with a T, a polo, or a normal poly/cotton collared shirt. Much more than that underneath- cautiously consider oversizing. I say this because the arm length and cuffs are perfectly matched to the size- at least for me. I prefer a perfect cuff length with the necessary true fit on my torso, than longer cuffs that would expectedly come with an up- sized torso. My tape measurements are: Chest( nipples)- 41 ” /Tummy( bellybutton)- 39 ” /Hips( pelvis)- 37 ” /booty- 38 ”. Weight: 162lbs. Height: 5 ’ 9 ” I ’ d have hoped for this type fitting information when I purchased a somewhat expensive and purpose- built rain jacket, but that is not realistic given the variance in body types. So if anyone has similar sizing to me, you can rest assured that my measurements are indicative of the fit I have reviewed. One thing I can ’ t stress enough though, the cuff length is spot- on for me, at the size jacket I purchased( L). They extend just past the wrist bone, and my nape to wrist bone measurement is 31. 5 ” I ’ m hugely satisfied with the jacket, and feel that the value is within the range of price……. perhaps slightly lower by 7- 10 percent by some, but that is based on the individual.

5 CodiP
I just recently went to Seattle to visit a friend. This jacket was a perfect companion for the constant drizzle. It held up great and was super comfortable. Does n't cause me to sweat on the hikes like my other rain jackets sometime do.

5
The jacket is fabulous. I ’ m going to purchase it in every color. Money well spent! Solid jacket!

5
My picky son loves the jacket. It ’s soft and great fitting.

Frequently Asked Questions For Lightweight Rain Fly

A lightweight rain fly is a protective covering designed to shield tents and camping gear from rain and moisture. It is essential for outdoor activities as it helps keep your gear dry, ensuring comfort and safety during unpredictable weather. Additionally, its lightweight design makes it easy to carry, making it a popular choice for backpackers and campers.

Lightweight rain flies are typically made from durable, water-resistant materials such as nylon or polyester. These fabrics often feature coatings like silicone or polyurethane to enhance waterproofing and durability. The choice of material impacts the rain fly's weight, packability, and overall performance in wet conditions.

Choosing the right size lightweight rain fly depends on the dimensions of your tent or the area you want to cover. It's important to select a rain fly that provides adequate coverage while remaining lightweight for easy transport. Consider the number of people using the tent and any additional gear that needs protection from the elements.

Yes, a lightweight rain fly can be used in various weather conditions, including light rain and wind. However, its effectiveness may vary based on the intensity of the weather and the specific design features of the rain fly. For heavy rain or severe weather, it's advisable to check the rain fly's specifications to ensure it meets your needs.
