For the last 5 years I have been using a Cleveland Launcher( MFG date 2003?) and I hit it extremely well. My golf buddy recently bought a Cobra F9 and asked me to try it and to my astonishment I drove the ball farther with his club than I do with my own club SO I started looking for a newer driver. This Srixon looked like it was the closest match to the Cleveland Launcher. I was a little concerned when it arrived because the shaft is stiffer than the Fukishira stiff shaft on my Launcher but, those concerns disappeared the very first drive I used this Srixon on- my golf league started on the back 9 and I nearly drove the 10th hole!! Back in the day I had the Callaway FT Optiforce and loved it. It was light, easy to hit and really long. I do n't know how to explain the feeling on mis hits. I feel I hit off the toe, the club somehow gets the ball to respond in a way a normal mis hit would end with terrible results. I would definitely recommend this driver to someone who does have a driver swing speed below 90mph

A few months ago I purchased the ZXi 3- metal. I opted for a Tour AD DI- 6 shaft upgrade. This club has been amazing. Without hitting it first I ordered the LS driver with matching upgraded shaft. I have played 3 rounds with this driver and it performed as expected. A good swing and a near center contact point delivered over 20 extra yards for me and more forgiveness. Only negatives I have so far are a tendency to miss left and the harsh sound at contact( I have gotten use to that now). I believe an adjustment to my loft from 10. 5 to 10 or 9. 5 should fix my left issues. Overall, the Mizuno ST- MAX 230 driver delivers on distance and forgiveness.

I ’ ve always had Callaways. Last one I ’ ve had for 15 years. Every couple of years I would try the newest model in the simulator and would see a gain of about 5- 10 yards but not nearly as consistent as I was with my old one so I couldn ’ t justify spending the money. This year I decided it was time. My old one has cracks and started to sound different. Of course my first choice was the Callaways but the fitter convinced me to try the TaylorMade and man, am I glad he did! For whatever reason the TaylorMade just seemed to fit my eye. Plus the distances were comparable to the Callaways but I was much more consistent. Only had it for 2 weeks so I ’ m still getting used to it but my consistency and distances continue to improve each time out.

I first set foot on a golf course in 1995 at Nevis and the fellow I was flying for rented me a set of Callaway's. Since then, I have wanted a custom set of Callaway clubs. Last year I bought a complete custom set of irons, pitching and sand wedges with a three wood. I 'm seventy and this year could only get 140 yards out of my thirty- year- old driver. The experience I had with the Callaway three wood made me think I may do better with a new driver, so I bought the Star for its light weight. I 'm now driving 170 yards but that is n't the best part. It is very easy to hit good drives with this club. I 'm not topping balls or making other miss hits like I used to with the old driver and that alone removes strokes and adds yards to my game. I have played with the new driver twice and last time out I broke 100 for the first time. I enjoy my Callaway clubs very much and the Star driver has changed my world. It's worth every penny and more.

I bought this driver right before Christmas 2024. Salesman at Dicks worked with me to fine tune the sliding weight. I got it dialed in perfectly. I played my 1st round last week( Feb 28), 95% of my drives were straight and in the fairway. Slightly longer than my old B21 Big Bertha driver with a lower penetrating ball flight. I need to work on tee height and possibly changing the loft from 10. 5 to see if I can get higher drives for more distance.
