I recently bought four of these, after my wife ran over some cactus on one of our rides. I read a previous review, basically saying don ’ t buy these and the stem was broken, but I never had issues buying stuff from Dick ’s in the past, so I bought them anyway. I noticed that on the Presta Valves, the stem lock ships screwed all the way in, if you unscrew this, it will inflate and deflate properly. I replaced a tube last night, and just checked the air this morning, and it ’s fine. Maybe the other person just didn ’ t realize this? Hard to say, but no problems here with mine.

I needed a new inner tube for my mountain bike. I went to three different stores to find the correct size. I found it at Dick ’s SG, so I bought 2! I didn ’ t realize Ducks even had a bike section! I ’ m glad I know now... I won ’ t have to drive all over town to find it again! And while I was there, I bought a pair of bike riding gloves too!

I bought these tubes as a replacement to Slime tubes. The slime tubes have a gel on the inside of the tube that acts as a self- sealing goo for small punctures. I got a hole in one of my tubes on a ride and the tire would not reimflate. Upon taking the tire off the rim I noticed the green gel was literally everywhere: on the tire wall, all over the rims. Took better than 25 minutes to clean off all that green goop. Switched to these to avoid a repeat of that.

They do as expected. I really like the valvestem. I have adaptors oddly same brand as Slime. Did not need them. My, pump can inflate them. I like the hold down nut that keep the valvestem in place with no air. It makes connecting so much easier. For a sports store Dicks has a tiny selection of bike tubes tires and such. Seems non sports stores have more to offer.

I ride my bike close to 7 days a week. This past summer I had 4( yes FOUR!) tire blowouts using the Schwinn bicycle brand of replacement inner tubes purchased@ Walmart. I became so frustrated by the constant changing of the tires that I vowed to get the inner tubes somewhere else. I luckily thought of Dick's.( The return associate@ Walmart explained to me that: `` They do get a lot of those inner tubes returned to them on a pretty regular basis. `` The quality of the Slime inner tube carried by Dick's is readily apparent the moment you open the packaging. They feel twice as thick as the Schwinn's product sold@ Walmart. The valve stems are also of much better quality than the Schwinn product. I will never shop for bike replacement products at any other store. Dick's carries quality product.

Slime tubes are some of the best sefl healing tubes on the market and Dick's sells them at a lower price that any other store in the Valley. They even beat the big box store that starts with a W.

I use the 26x2. 25 presta version. The# 1 biggest problem with mountain biking is all the stuff you run over on the trails. When I started mountain biking 4 years ago I had 6 flats in the first three months, using std tubes. I tried going tubeless as well but to me its a mess toi set up and mess to manage because you need to use a Slime like sealer to do it. So when I found the Sline tubes, I thought I had found the perfect balance. Yes they are heavier than a std tube( about 240g vs 120g for a std tube), but I ride a 40lb mountain bike( loaded with gear) so a few grams is not an issue( whereas getting a flat miles from home is a BIG issue). I Have not a A SINGLE flat using these tubes for the past 4 years. Not to say the tires have n't got minor punctures, but the slime seals the flat as if it never happened. Few words of advise... 1) always inspect your tires pre and post ride for damage.. if you get a puncture( you will see this by the green ooze at the puncture point) remove the puncture item and let the puncture seal. The slime coats the inner surface of the tube so for even coverage ride the bike a little and it will seal. These tubes can take a pretty big puncture. Pulled a big thorn out last weekend( size of a rose thorn) and it still sealed. 2) The slime is a liguid and will pool at the bottom of the tire, and the wheel may feel off balance as you start riding. HOnestly I do n't even notice anymore but it takes maybe a hundred feet or so of riding to redistribute the slime inside the tire. No big deal. 3) I am now replacing my tubes because the inflation valves are getting sticky. The slime does come out a little when inflating. I make sure the valve is at the bottom of the tire( closest to the ground) and push the valve in with my thumb and a small piece of paper towel to clean the valve a bit before attaching the pump. My pump has never suffered or gotten clogged and works just fine after these years. HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone who wants care free tires.

I bought self- sealing tubes for my bike not knowing if they would work. I was happily surprised to learn that tubes work great but lose a bit of air when thorns are pulled out. This pump works great in filling the tires back up to appropriate tire pressure and saving you from a long walk home. Very compact. Nice volume of air for such a small unit. Now I understand the science of how these wonderful products allow you to enjoy the joys of cycling with a minimum of headaches and inconveniences. Extremely happy with my purchase!!!

Purchased along with a new bicycle. Despite the salesperson's recommendation, I purchased this pump. I have no other comparison, but it works better than I thought it would. Once you start getting close to recommended pressure, it gets harder, but you can still pump air into the tire.
A presta valve is a type of valve commonly used on high-performance bicycles, particularly mountain bikes. It is narrower than the Schrader valve, allowing for a tighter seal and better air retention. Presta valves typically require a specific pump head for inflation, making them a preferred choice for serious cyclists seeking precision and reliability.
Using a mountain bike tube with a presta valve offers several advantages, including improved air retention and the ability to handle higher pressures, which is essential for off-road riding. Additionally, presta valves are lighter and often found on higher-end bikes, contributing to overall performance. They also allow for easier inflation adjustments, making them ideal for varying terrain.
To select the right size presta valve tube for your mountain bike, check the tire size printed on the sidewall of your tires. The tube size should match the tire width and diameter specifications. It's also important to consider the valve length, as some rims may require longer valves for proper accessibility when inflating.
When choosing a mountain bike tube with a presta valve, consider features such as puncture resistance, weight, and material. Some tubes are designed with self-sealing technology to prevent air loss from small punctures, while others may be made from lightweight materials for better performance. Additionally, look for tubes that offer compatibility with your bike's tire size.
Using a presta valve tube with a Schrader valve rim is not recommended, as the two valves have different diameters and fittings. If your rim is designed for a Schrader valve, you should use a tube with that type of valve. If you prefer a presta valve, you may need to replace the rim or use an adapter, but this can affect performance and reliability.
Maintaining mountain bike tubes with presta valves involves regular checks for air pressure and visual inspections for any signs of wear or damage. It's important to keep the valve clean and free from debris to ensure proper sealing. Additionally, consider replacing the tube if you experience frequent flats or if the valve becomes damaged, as this can impact your riding experience.
