Mountain House beats Peak Refuel for taste and overall quality! They 've been doing this longer and have it down to a science! I hope they continue to improve and I hope they continue to offer the Military MCW packaging, or at least continue to offer that form of packaging! I like it's simplicity and compactness! I really think they should do the MCW form of packaging with the oxygen absorber, vacuum seal and even tougher mylar( or whatever they use for the ProPak). This would be an unbeatable long term storage food in a form factor that would simply be unbeatable!!!

I have bought from several different companies and realized I should try some before buying more. I am stocking up for emergencies/ Hurricanes. One brands protein pack is vegan. Lentils and beans. The taste was good but you have to boil for 25 minutes. That takes a lot of propane if your power is out. Your chicken and rice has a lot of chicken and a large portion. You only add boiling water to the pouch wait 10 minutes and it's ready to eat. I did add a little extra seasoning. And great for my girlfriend that has nut allergy.

Just had this tonight. I used just a smidge under the recommended amount of water as I ’ ve noticed after rehydration other products tend to be a bit soupy. This resolved the issue. Recommend water is 13 ounces, I used 12. Product is tasty and contains just the right amount of rice/veggies to chicken ratio. It ’s a little bit on the salty side, but I highly recommend!

Please make this flavor in a large can size! This is the first certified gluten free freeze dried meals I ’ ve found, and having celiac disease, keeping shelf stable food on hand for emergencies is very difficult. Please consider making this flavor in a large can size to have on hand for those instances over the pouch. The flavor is fantastic, and the ease of mind that I won ’ t get sick is literally priceless and worth every cent! Also enjoy the chicken and rice flavor as well. Please never discontinue!

Mexican Style Adobo Rice and Chicken is one of my favorites. If cooked properly, the chicken can be a as succulent as made from home. Mexican style rice mixed with veggies add a nice and healthy blend of flavors. It all gets better too when the slight heat from the spices come through.

When I bought several food pouches it was all based on the great reviews. I bought these for camping, storms& emergency situations. I decided to try the Spaghetti& Meat Sauce, followed exact directions, wrapped towel around pouch& let sit for 16 min& much to my surprise I was amazed at how good this actually tasted! I never had freeze dried food& this was pretty good. For being a newbie on this product I highly recommend MH for your food!

Tastes great! Better than any canned spaghetti. I 've always thought these freeze dried meals want you to add too much water. I added just under 400ml of hot water from my kettle and it was perfect. The wait was n't very long either so win- win.
