I 'm on my feet 10+ hours a day so good cushion is a must and these shoes delivers! I 've own different brands and they do n't last long. Let's see with these one. I 've read that these supposed to last longer than other brand that I 've own. As far as zero drop, I do n't have comparable brand as this is the first time I 've tried. But so far ny feet are happy. I just happened across these in a Bozeman MT shop as I was about to throw in the towel on finding a decent pair of hikers. I 'd never heard of Danner before this, but after slipping these babies on I knew it was going to be the start of a beautiful relationship. These took ZERO breaking- in as they were comfy from day one for me. I 've gone on short hikes and just this past summer( I 've owned them for 2 years now), they were my flyfishing wet- wading boots. They worked like a charm on the riverbed and dried out pretty quickly and without any shape change. LOVE these and will likely buy another pair soon just to be sure I have another set for when these finally go out and before Danner stops making them( although they should make these in perpetuity!). I have a wide foot and often boots and shoes are snug so I have to size up. I typically wear a 9. 5 or 10. With this boot a 9. 5 fit great. The boot is light weight and very comfortable. Shockingly so. I have read comments that these are not the `` hard core '' hiking boot type- and thats probably true. But if you want comfort with some warmth and protection from the elements I would recommend giving these Danners a try. The quality is certainly built in. I do get compliments on the boots when I wear them.
