As great as the Persols are, they are very heavy, which is what initially drove me to this MJ style. These live up to expectations for comfort, looks, and lens quality. The old ones zippered securely shut and had a clip to attach to your belt or pack when traveling and not needing to wear the sunglasses. These are probably my favorite Maui Jim ’s so far. I love the clarity of the lenses, they sit perfectly on my face. The arms have small rubber pieces on the ends that hold them snugly to your head without feeling tight. I can run with them, sail with them and they never feel like they ’ re going to fall off. This is the best fitting pair of sunglasses I have purchased yet. The frame fits so natural to my face like it was just suppose to be there. I usually wear Oakley's but I wanted to try Costa. Glad I did. The 580 lenses were worth the extra 60 bucks by far. That fuzzy glare I see during sunrise and sunset while driving is almost eliminated.

I originally purchased the Costa Manta Ray 400's( which are fantastic), however after the purchase I had buyers remorse.... buyer's remorse for the fact that I did n't spend the extra$ 80 and get 580's..... so I returned them and I did!!! What a great pair of glasses. I used them in Costa Rica, while ocean fishing. I could see every Sailfish strike... and I could see deeply into the Pacific. These have now become my Water Sport glasses `` ONLY ''. I use an older pair of Oakleys for everyday use. It's hard to resist taking the Costa's out of the hard case and using them daily( which you can certainly do), but I save them for the water. I highly recommend these glasses for fishing and boating. No Guessing!!! You ca n't go wrong with these!!!

I just bought a pair of Costa Del Mar Fathom Sunglasses. I have a pair I bought last summer that have lasted me for over a year now. I am a wrangler on a dude ranch in Colorado I am in the sun all day long and do a lot of rough work like throwing saddles feeding and maintenance. They have been the toughest sunglasses I have ever had. I have had Revo, Oakley, Maui Jims, and Bolle. Costa Del Mar's have been by far the strongest toughest sunglasses I have ever owned. They are the only sunglasses that handle the work I do. The lenses take a major beating before they ever see a scratch. The sunglasses are superb. Very clear, sharp, and light weight. Can wear all day without marks or fatigue. These are my second pair. The only disappointment are the new glass cases. The old ones zippered securely shut and had a clip to attach to your belt or pack when traveling and not needing to wear the sunglasses. The new cases although attractive are not secure and don ’ t have a clip. Absolutely recommend the Ho ’ okipa sunglasses. Sunglasses case not carry friendly.

These are probably my favorite Maui Jim ’s so far. I love the clarity of the lenses, they sit perfectly on my face. The arms have small rubber pieces on the ends that hold them snugly to your head without feeling tight. I can run with them, sail with them and they never feel like they ’ re going to fall off. This is my second pair because I lost my first pair at a beach party that went into the night. My bad. They were so good I couldn ’ t wear anything else. And my backups are another pair of Maui Jim ’s.
