Incredible shades. I started with the Red Sands, which were great. However, since my head is NOT the size of a parade balloon, I swapped 'em out for the more streamlined Pokowai Arches. They fit my medium- sized melon perfectly. I love these things because they 're stylish( translucent gray frames, Hawaii blue lenses), but they are also incredibly light- weight... if you 're after comfort, you simply will not find a pair of glasses that can compete with these. Well done, Maui Jim! Now, it's on me- I need to cherish these, and hold on to them, unlike the 6, 300 pairs of shades I 've lost throughout my life( approximate count).

It helps your local economy, along w/ getting you some professional assistance! 2) For me, it came down to the Southern Cross vs. the Kanaio Coast( KC). I actually ordered a pair of each and then decided from there. My concern was that the Southern Cross initially seemed too big for my face and that the KC was a smaller version of the Southern Cross- thus better. And, indeed, the KC is very much like a mini- Southern Cross. 3) But I found the Southern Cross an absolute upgrade over the KC. They are more substantial- the Southern Cross very much feels like an expensive, significant pair of sunglasses in your hand, what you 'd want for the high cost.... The KC does not give off this feeling- they seem much less quality in your hand, more like a department store brand sunglass. Do n't get me wrong, the KC are nice glasses- I almost bought them. But the Southern Cross pair is simply a superior build. 4) I needed a reader put into my lenses and because the KC is smaller, the reader sat too far up the lens- it was distracting. The larger Southern Cross seems custom made for the reader- the lens having plenty of room to allow the reader to sit low and unobtrusive. 5) The smaller KC also sat too close to my eyelashes- I had to adjust them to not hit my eyelashes. Just received my new Ohai with Maui Sunrise lenses. This is my second pair of Maui Jim ’s. The first pair lasted me 10 years! This pair is as stylish and good looking as the first. Very light weight and comfortable, I forget I ’ m wearing them half the time. They fit nicely under my motor bike helmet, an added bonus! The customer service from Maui Jim is SECOND TO NONE! The bronze lens on the Kanaio Coast shades are excellent out on the golf course. On a sunny day, they greatly improve your ability to accurately read greens. You 'll see subtle breaks in great detail. If it becomes overcast, they still help you accurately read greens... but you might opt for a lighter bronze color like found on the old MJ Sport shades.
