I bought this primarily for catfish and toothy fishy as a way to get a good grip without getting poked. So far it works well and I 've had no issues with the quality. Largest fish it's had on was only about 3 pounds so far, so we 'll have to see if it can hold up to a monster. But I like that it floats, is simple to operate and does n't injure/harm the fish in any way.( I only catch and release regardless of species and size. So that's important to me.)

I had an old aluminum canoe that had been a great fishing canoe, but at 86 pounds I could no longer handle it. The Pelican Catch Classic 100 weighs only 58 pounds and slides easily on and off my truck. Plus, I 've already caught a lot of fish. I use a seat cushion that adds about 3 inches to the chair of the kayak and puts me up a bit higher. The kayak is great for about 2- 2. 5 hours of fishing. I have n't had it out in much wind yet, but it handles pretty well.

My old net was a cotton type net which caused a lot of problems releasing the trout while fly fishing. This should solve my problem of the tangles that occurred with the flies getting hung up and should be better on the release of the fish as well. If you are fishing for big lake trout it would probably need to be bigger but for our trips to the San Juan River it will be very functional and make my trips much more enjoyable and a quicker trip back to the water for the trout as well. This is my 9th white Bird rod and it's specs are definitely more accurate than the 7' and 7' 4 '' model. The 7' 4 ''s were intended for flipping but are to parabolic and are now my best crankbait rods I have. This 7' 6 '' has alot of backbone but 2 feet of the tip has a slight amount of forgiveness but is not flimsy.
