There are dedicated spots for a transuder but for some reason the holes on mine are very small compared to others thet I reviewed YouTube builds of this yak. Caught 3 big bat rays and a 5 ft long leopard shark on the combo with ease. Reel is insanely powerful, and by far one of the best reels you can get out there in the “ middle to expensive ” price range for PENN spinning reels. This is the second boat I have purchased after buying one last year for my son. The boat is highly rated and did a lot of homework before buying. We use this to fish back bay fishing and crabbing. It's a great stable boat and you get a lot for the price point. It's also easy to load since it's only 10 feet long making it a lot lighter than larger boats.

I had an old aluminum canoe that had been a great fishing canoe, but at 86 pounds I could no longer handle it. The Pelican Catch Classic 100 weighs only 58 pounds and slides easily on and off my truck. Plus, I 've already caught a lot of fish. I use a seat cushion that adds about 3 inches to the chair of the kayak and puts me up a bit higher. The kayak is great for about 2- 2. 5 hours of fishing. I have n't had it out in much wind yet, but it handles pretty well.

I am a big VMC fan for terminal tackle. Well made products that work at a reasonable price. One of my favorite soft plastic hooks. My primary form of fishing is finesse with soft plastics, weighted and unweighted. I 've owned quite a few Zeb co reels over the last 40 years and they are an affordable and consistent performer. I rarely lose a fish because of the reel. They 're easy to use and fun. And this is the best I 've ever used. It's nearly silent. The drag action is smooth as silk and the retrieve is just as good. Gone is the loud ratcheting sound when a fish puts on a fight. If you like that, then grab the Authentic 33. It will sound like you expect, but this is silent and buttery smooth. Zeb co makes much more expensive reels, loaded up with quality bearings. But unless you 're making a living on a boat, this should be plenty. I go fishing every weekend with my sons and I 've caught dozens of fish on this. Mostly pan fish, crappie and bass but I 've reeled in a few nice carp and catfish as well. The reel did well.

My old net was a cotton type net which caused a lot of problems releasing the trout while fly fishing. This should solve my problem of the tangles that occurred with the flies getting hung up and should be better on the release of the fish as well. If you are fishing for big lake trout it would probably need to be bigger but for our trips to the San Juan River it will be very functional and make my trips much more enjoyable and a quicker trip back to the water for the trout as well. I got this net with some gift cards I got for Christmas. I have n't been out on the water with it yet, but you can definitely see that this is a heavy duty quality net. A little pricey, but I 've gone though 2 nets this season already, I should have just bought this one at the start. I lost 45 mins of Kayak fishing trying to untangle my best bait from a string net, never again! Expensive, but I hate losing fish right at the boat!!!!
