We live on a lake and near the beach a small like to go to the springs. Took this to the springs and the dry pocket keeps your phone and keys dry, our food and drinks stayed cold and the ice kept the entire day. It also floats, so when floating down the river, you can literally just strap this to the raft and it ’ ll float, so much easier than having to rent another raft and hope your cooler doesn ’ t fall off it. I recieved the 36 can cooler and i was able to fit 24 cans plus ice. We have had a mild winter where i live so i decided to fill this cooler and test it by setting it outside for 5 days. I checked on it everyday. Day 2 still had ALL ice. Day 3 it started to melt. By day 5 all ice was melted but drinks were still ICE COLD. The magnetic lid creates an insulation like no other. I believe that is the feature that kept my drinks cold for so long. The zippers well, they are tough to open however it really seals out the warm air so i can live with it. The thing that makes the zipper so difficult is that it is outlined in silicone/rubber for a tight seal so it does serve a purpose. The front pouch is perfect size for plates& cutlery. I also love the thoughtfulness of adding a bottle opener. Overall, i think this is a great cooler and i cant wait to see how it works while outside, camping in the hot summers. I would recommend.

[ I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this product, the outside is a semi hard case it has one pocket in front and on the side there is a bottle opener attached, it comes with a long strap for carrying. The zipper is a little bit hard to open at first but once I put on the lubricant that came with it it ’s a lot easier to open. I like that the lid is magnetic incase you accidentally leave the lid unzipped at least the magnet will keep the cooler closed. I put ice in this cooler at 8am and a whole 24 hours later the ice was a little melted but there was still plenty of ice left! The really cool thing that yeti does n't mention is it comes with a cover with the sides cut open to allow use of the handles for transport and protecting the metal finish! I have a tundra haul,( 2) 45s, and a 35. But I had to pull the trigger on this sexy piece of engineering design. It ’s definitely going to be my stay at home cooler for patio and get togethers. I attached photos next to a tundra 45. The thinner walls definitely help out a lot to reduce cooler overall size yet gain area inside. It might also tag along on some road trips since it has a small footprint and taller. It ’s built solid, but I will definitely baby it compared to my tundras. I bought this cooler on a Friday morning since I was going camping in 90 degree weather and needed something that would keep my food cold for a few days. On Friday at 11: 00am I put 6( 7lb) bags of ice in it and loaded it up with tons of food I had prepped to feed 7 people. I got to the campsite at 3pm and the temperature was 92 degrees. I put it in the shade. Saturday it was 98 degrees. I got home Sunday( 92 degrees) evening and took all the food out and drained some of the water out and put it back in my car. I left ice in it because I wanted to see how long it would last. It has been in my car for 24 hours and there is still a good amount of ice chunks in it( see photo). I am impressed. I was worried as some of the reviews mentioned cheap handles but I feel like it is pretty sturdy and didn ’ t have any issues.

After using it for a couple back to back weekends on the Colorado River above Moab in 100+ degree heat I ’ m a believer. What ’s really made an impact is that after sitting in a raft all weekend and then a few more days in the sun of our driveway, there is still ice! Regarding strength, some friends of ours have a Tundra 125 that floated away after high siding a rock on the Dolores River above the Pumphouse take out this spring. Their cooler was found by another party over 5 miles downstream after passing through the notorious Snaggletooth rapids and multiple class 3 sections of river. The cooler had one character adding gouge but was otherwise unscathed.

Owning many other Yeti products including a Tundra cooler, I knew I had to have the Silo 6G. I just needed to find an excuse to convince my wife we needed one. When she told me we were hosting a New Years Eve party this year and she needed a large container to hold bulk libations, I knew this was my prime opportunity! Last night we prepped 6 gallons of spiked punch and it fit perfectly! While we opted for no ice to prevent watering down our concoction, I have no doubt about ice retention. There is one thing I wish Yeti would have included on the Silo 6G, a lock- out on the spigot. As soon as we got the Silo all filled up with our ingredients, what was the first thing my 4 year old did? She went over and pushed the button, causing boozy goodness to efficiently flow through the Surepour Spigot all down the front of her and all down the front of my white cabinets. Oh well, at least we still have 5. 9 gallons to ring in the new year with. Yeti, once again, has knocked it out of the park!

I got the ICF60 recently and finally got a chance to use it. I set the cooler to 0F, put about 15 pounds of frozen venison in the cooler, put the cooler inside the car and headed out. Over the course of the 6 hour drive, I never heard a sound from it and I was about 2 feet from it the entire time. About an hour from my destination, I had to unplug the cooler from the cigarette lighter. When I get to my destination, the meat was still frozen and hard as a rock! I 've had at least 3 other models of Igloo branded coolers in the past and have loved them all. We normally use a pair of trail mate journeys, so this is about the same volume as what we 're used to, but the exterior is much more compact( no wheels or extra exterior parts/compartments) and not needing the ice will help get a lot more packed in. Where we use the trailmate for going camping, this will be used for a multi- week trip with multiple nights in hotels along the way to where we 're going. We 're going to be staying about an hour from a grocery store, so having a vehicle refrigerator will help a lot with surviving more days between trips to the store. This will go in the back of our SUV each day and plug into the car for power, moving it to the hotel each night to plug in. I have a battery pack with 220Whr of capacity, but from my tests within my house it wo n't be enough to leave it running off of this in the car overnight. I like that this has a good rubber seal and it sucks tight when you try to open it, so no air leaks like a typical cooler. I 'd like to see it with a bit thicker of a wall so that it would run a bit more efficiently, though it really does n't take that much power. I 'm also glad this is n't a thermoelectric cooler, like the ones that were popular in the 1990s. The unit does n't make much noise, so it wo n't wake anyone up or keep anyone up in the hotel rooms, at least no more than my snoring. I will use this for work meals, fishing, picnic for 1- 2, taking to the ballpark, long drives, etc. It ’s a little bigger inside than the flip 8 and the hard cooler option allows use as a table or seat. Tie down slots are integrated into the comfortable new small haul handle and includes a rubber grip for wet hands and good grip when full, though I like the optional double duty strap you can buy for hands free use. I bought this last month for Travel Baseball. It is a 100% upgrade from the large Yeti cooler we used last year. It is much easier for my wife to handle from car to field on her own. This cooler really has everything I was looking for in a performance cooler. The insulation is great. It has secure closing tabs. It has a drain plug. It has a bottle opener. It is a little on the heavy side but all of the good in this cooler can not happen without some weight. Having said that, this cooler is much lighter than many of its competitors. Some folks dig on coolers not keeping cool as long as advertised. It is important to realize that if you put ice/drinks/food in a warm cooler you are bound to have some initial melting just to bring the temperature down. Add some ice prior to using the cooler and it will last really well. No question it's a great deal for what you get.

I like the Trailmate 25. It is big but not bulky or too heavy like some coolers in this size range. It has a metal handle with a nice rubberized grip on it. While similar to other models Igloo offers, this cooler has a seal in the lid, improved rubber latches, drain plug, and heavy duty hinges on the back. It is made in USA which I appreciate and is very solid. Not sure how many total days it can retain ice, since I only use for weekend use. I hope this lasts me many years. Overall I would recommend this cooler. Minor issues that could be improved: 1. I would like the handle to `` lock '' in the upright position to reduce the cooler from swaying side to side while carrying it. 2. The notches where the rubber latches secure are hollow underneath. This allows the latches to scrape/scuff the plastic edges which could possibly wear down overtime. 3. The drain plug could be a tad lower in the cooler so it does n't have to be tipped to drain the last remaining water. 4. I added no- skid furniture pads to the bottom to reduce scratches and scuffs and increase grip for transportation.
