Though I am a physician, I am somewhat of a physician skeptic. I had a relatively severe shoulder dislocation and rotator cuff injury in college many years ago. The shoulder has never been the same, but `` tolerable ''. It had been getting worse over the past. year with significant pain, particularly with certain movements. I saw the orthopedic surgeon who recommended shoulder `` re- hab ''( physical therapy) and I was very doubtful that this would help. I read the literature that they provided me, got a set of resistance bands and started doing the exercises several times a week, as instructed. Much to my surprise and delight, my shoulder pain got much better along with my flexibility and functionality. I can now do exercises that I was incapable of doing two months ago with minimal to no pain. I was not looking forward to surgery and glad that I was able to avoid it.

5 stars are for a Lifeine Gym version I got in 1983. I still use it as I 'm on SSDI due spondylosis. It fits in the door and the cables allow you to lean at 45 degree angle stretching your shoulder joints and isolating your spinal chord, site of bone spurs. My version allows converts the handles into barbell or stand on the handles and pump the barbell fed cables, twisting for more resistance. I purchased the medium bands to try out. What I found was that when added to my bar on my weight rack, the bands adds resistance to a greater range of motion. I'vw since our based the light, Medium and Heavy in pairs and found that they are an amazing add to my bar in my weight training. I thought these bands were gimmickie, and that's not to say they are n't, but definitely not what I 'm using them for. I suffer from far less joint pain after workouts and have been lifting heavier since adding the bands. I highly recommend adding these to your power training.
