Much nicer than the Scotty product, and if you get the Starport HP mount instead, a much lower profile mount if you ’ re doing a non- fishing trip and don ’ t need the holder mounted. The included mount can be used in either a low profile( more hole cutting, more secure) or high profile setting. I have one mounted in front of me, and the adjustable angle means I can switch it to vertical, and troll with a rod in front of me instead of behind. This product works exactly as described. I would have given this 5 stars but the mounting hardware that comes with the item is not worth 2 cents. I went to install and the wall anchors( no lip) actually went all the way through the wall so I just ended up using some wall anchors with a rounded lip that I already had.
