The HR Monitor does not come with it and is separate, but I use my watch and it ’s fine. Assembly was tricky and required two people, but quick. The operation is very quiet, except the pedals click clack. The device looks sleek and I have plenty of room to slide all the way back. My husband is 6 ’ 1 and had no issues. I have a tough time keeping my feet in the pedals if my shoes are too wide or sole too thick. It ’s tricky starting the session and holding the rowers with the phone in the clamp. The water bottle holder is large. The metric display is small and can be difficult to read the legend, but once you get used to it, it ’s fine. The actual numbers are displayed in much bigger format. Overall I really love it and am glad I bought it.

I 've had my rower now for several months and initially had issues with the meter not connecting to the app. I had replaced another rowing machine in favor of this one to specifically connect to the app. Sunny Fitness sent a replacement meter and everything has been working great ever since. We assembled it quickly and easily( we are NOT handy people) and it works very well. I 'm a beginner so I ca n't comment on the display- I 'm just trying to burn calories, not race. I like the fact that it's higher than other water rowers because I have lower back issues, so the fact that it's a bit higher, and also that the back/seat is higher than the feet seems to alleviate stress on my lower back. The only `` surprise '' was that it is a bit noisier than other water rowers BUT I think that's because of the tilt of the tank. That said, I think the tilt makes for a better workout because it seems like you 're pulling the propellers through more water( pooled at the bottom of the tank) than you would be with the same amount of water in a flat tank. Frankly, when I tested the flat/level tank it felt `` too easy '' for me. Yes, I know it's about how fast I pull, but I like the additional resistance. It's not so much that it's noisy as that I ca n't watch/listen to anything unless I make it loud. My husband said you barely hear it in the rest of the house. I just wear earbuds so I can listen. One other thing to note: even though you can put an iPad on the lip of the display, you have to be sure to tilt it backwards a bit so the display does n't flop forward from the weight. Last, but not least, you ca n't beat the price( and nominal delivery charge) and availability. It arrived within a few days of ordering it. Great purchase!

I had the air version and upgraded to this one with air and magnetic resistance. It ’s an upgrade for sure with resistance. Less productive at the 30 minute mark. Only concern with this product is longevity as the volute spring went on the prior model. But I stayed with Sunny as the overall product is good and it lasted long enough to where I don ’ t feel it was a financial loss. I used it often. Fingers crossed this last 2+ years with almost daily use.

The only issue I have noticed is the pedal spacing is farther apart than what I was used to on my very simple and little hydraulic machine by SunnyHealth. I prefer water rowers to any type of rower. You can fill it as much as you like for a strong or light resistance. I keep mine on the lower end so I can row for 15 minutes. Easy to move you lift up the front and you can push it anywhere with the wheels on the back. I pull it out into the sun and other days I keep it in the garage.

I just assembled the rower 2 days ago. Assembling instructions very clear and straightforward, it took me about 45 minutes to complete the assembly. Since then I used it twice and am happy with the results. I used to workout with a rowing machine at the gym, and like this one better, as you can use your arms in a wide opening, as opposed to the ones in the gym that you only bring your arms back and forth. Up to now I am very happy with the workout and best thing is I do n't have to leave the house to do it. The only complaint I have is that it does n't have a heart monitor, which is a very handy feature. I know that including it would raise the price, because of the need to install sensors and another function in the display, but I would be prepared to pay the difference, if it was a reasonable one. I am used to the HR monitor as I also have a static bike at home, and this one ahs the HR monitor and it is very handy. I will post a new development comment in a couple of weeks, after using it more times.

Besides some differences in the complexity of what the display can do, the feel and quality of this rower is spot on to the Concept 2. Great value for the quality

We bought this to start rowing( instead of cycling), so although we 're `` beginners '', we come from a lifetime of exercise. It's an excellent rower that's a direct comparable to the Concept2( think clone). The rower itself is perfect. The only element that could be improved is the computer/display. The data a rower wants altogether during a workout is spread across two screen modes, but it's not a large issue since one display mode shows the most used basic data. The Concept2 computer/display is far more evolved/refined, but the Ethos display lacks nothing important( although I will never know why folks want to see calories since that metric can not be accurate unless it takes into account body factors outside the computer's data).( In all fairness to the reader here, I 'm not convinced the power/watts metric is fully accurate but hopefully I 'm just wrong on this.) I hope Dick's guides improvements in the computer/display going forward. I 'd even be willing to upgrade the computer someday if new versions are released with more refined sophistication- the machine is really worthy of further improvement work.
