So far I ’ ve used it wading off the beaches in Belize and have had no issues with them. They are comfy and sturdy. The arches are slightly high if you have flat feet like mine but I quickly got use to them. I also went a half size up to pair them with the Fly weight wading socks.

First trip in my Simms Flats Sneakers was on a weeklong bonefishing trip to Mars Bay on South Andros. I normally wear a shoe size of 7. 5- 8 wide, but went with size 9 on the Flats Sneakers with the neoprene socks. Fit was great. We waded some pretty significant distances on a couple of days, and the Sneakers were very comfortable. Glad I got them, and I ’ d certainly recommend them highly. Caught some nice fish too. I figure it was the Sneakers. Why not!
Saltwater shoes are specifically designed for wear in marine environments, featuring materials that resist saltwater damage and provide excellent traction on wet surfaces. Unlike regular shoes, they often have quick-drying properties and are constructed to withstand exposure to sand and salt. This makes them ideal for activities like boating, fishing, or beach outings.
Saltwater shoes are typically made from durable, water-resistant materials such as synthetic fabrics, rubber, and neoprene. These materials help prevent damage from saltwater and ensure quick drying after exposure to water. Additionally, many saltwater shoes incorporate breathable elements to enhance comfort during extended wear.
While saltwater shoes are designed for marine environments, their suitability can vary based on the specific activity. They are generally great for casual wear, beach outings, and light water sports. However, for more intense activities like deep-sea fishing or extreme water sports, specialized footwear may be recommended for optimal performance and safety.
When selecting saltwater shoes, consider factors such as fit, intended use, and comfort features. Look for shoes with a good grip for wet surfaces and those that offer quick drying capabilities. Additionally, consider the style that best suits your activities, whether you prefer sandals, sneakers, or slip-ons.
Yes, saltwater shoes can be worn in freshwater environments as they are designed to be versatile and durable. However, it's important to rinse them after use in freshwater to prevent any buildup of dirt or debris. Their quick-drying properties and comfort make them suitable for various water activities, regardless of the water type.
