I used these for the first time yesterday, and they were outstanding. I spent seven hours wet- wading in Western North Carolina, and they felt more like a pair of slippers than wading shoes. I paired them with SIMMS quick- dry pants, and the combination worked great. My only quibble is the strap adjustment system. You can ’ t really fine- tune the straps while they ’ re on your feet. I had to put them on, take them off, wrestle with the straps, and repeat the process a few times before I got the heel locked in without slipping. Once dialed in, though, they were excellent — easy to slip on and off, and I never had to adjust them again.

I like that it has the metal rivets along the eyelights for the laces. These boots appear as if they were made to last. I would recommend this boot to others. I give these 5 stars as I have put somewhere around 300 days or more fishing my first pair of these and have put 20 or so on a second because the sole cracked on the first. I fish the Rio Grande in New Mexico several days a year crawling on the volcanic rock, boulders, cactus, sage and they have held up to it. I have tortured these boots and they held as long as any other guides much more expensive boots. I only wish I could get them with about a 3rd the volume as I have a size 13 B foot and have to fill lots of space with wading socks. Even still I bought a second pair.

I hope XTRATUF never stops making these. I recently picked up shifts at a restaurant in my town that has stairs! As someone who is quite familiar with the hospitality industry, loves a clog( to the point of my friends making fun of me for it) and is used to the added height and comfortability of one, I needed something I could quite literally `` run '' up& down stairs in. [ I was finally happy to see a wide light weight hiker from Keen. For awhile most of their light weight hikers never came in wide, so this is very welcome. The shoe overall is well build with solid traction. They are sneaker comfortable out of the box but I do wish they had slightly more arch support. The lack of arch support was solved by using a Keen foot insert, the k- 10. Tons of room the toe box too.
