[ I have purchased multiple pairs of these. I wear outside and also for work. The mesh allows my feet to breathe. Working eight plus hours in the hospital on my feet, these shoes are extremely comfortable and have a great arch support. The footbed and quality is just like the sandals. These look dressy enough for work, but also casual enough to wear with shorts. The ability to just throw these in the wash keeps them looking like new. Highly recommend! It would be great if one could by just new foot beds as this has shown some wear over 1 plus years of wearing almost daily. However the shoes look like new.

I was n't thrilled with any of the women's models/colors in wide width, so I decided to purchase the Men's Escalante 4( mens regular is equivalent to womens wide width) instead. I wear a 10- 10. 5 wide in womens and went with the mens size 9 in black/white- perfect fit. Of course I wish the color was a bit more feminine, but at least there was a neutral option! I 'm new to the wide toe box, zero drop but I 'm absolutely in love with this shoe& hope I never have to go back to traditional tennis shoes. Zero- drop requires some adjustment time- my calves have been BURNING on walks, so I 've had to slow it down. FYI I tried Flux footwear first, but they are ridiculously narrow, so I had to return( also beware their return policy). I wear my new altras for walking and strength training primarily, and I plan to wear them when I visit London for 10 days in October. So happy with my purchase overall. One critique is I 'd like to see more wide- width options for women.

this is a very stable shoe. It feels slightly narrow, but it really distributes the weight across your foot. I live in an area where there is snow on the ground a lot of the time and so I really appreciate the Gore- Tex finish on this shoe. I use it mainly for walking. I had an ACL reconstruction surgery nine months ago and I walk across mud and unstable ground in the forest near where I live when I wear the ghost 16 gtx I am very confident that I will not slip.
