paddle tail swimbaits rigged with a jig head are often the first baits i throw when fishing for bass. Just so happens it was the only bait i threw all day over the weekend. These produced hits from both largemouth bass and northern in ultra clear water and murky. I was using the sight flash color and it worked great. They do tear easy but are worth the constant action I have experience with them. I usually rig them with a 1/4 oz jig head with the hook through the top, works like a charm!

I 'm a long time fan of Z- Man plastics. I feel they 're the best quality you can buy. I was a fan of the TubeZ, but I like the TicklerZ even better. These are primarily intended as a chatterbait/bladed jig trailer. They are SUPPOSED to have subtle action that works well with a bladed jig: they have the right shape to create a baitfish profile and the tail jerks back and forth in sync with the jig vibrations. Some of the other reviewers might not have understood that. These may not work very well as a jerkbait or swimbait on the end of a jighead( not saying they wo n't-- they just might for you). The main competitor is the Yamamoto Zako- a bait that just kills bass on the bladed jig, but the RaZor ShadZ have the advantage of awesome durability. Z man's elaztec plastic is super durable but can not be stored directly adjacent to other plastics including other lures or certain plastic tackle boxes. It will definitely cause melting. Consider Z man soft plastics for what they are: durable, cost- effective, reliable bass killers; you have to accept they have to be put back in their own bag or separately in a Plano box.

I bought a bag of this bait at my local dicks store last week. I fish regularly on Cayuga lake which is located in the finger lakes in NY. I purchased some minnow soft baits as an alternative bait to my Berkley grub baits. I had lots of success in catching some fish including some blue gill, perch, and large mouth. I also caught tons! and tons! of gobies where I fished. These things have huge mouths and love the scented bait. I was only fishing of a dock so I did n't get the full experience of using this bait on a boat or kayak. I found that using a smaller hook worked well in catching the fish near me. I hooked the bait through the head and out the bottom similar to a carolina rig. The bait works well even after a few fish are caught and the bait is broken down. I suggest throwing the bait back in the back once finished so it can redial up the liquid in the gulp bag. All in all decent bait for a good price.

When the saucy swimmers came out, I thought, why not give them a try. I 'm glad did. Nothing is the scent something the fish seem to lock on to, they are extremely durable. I love this bait like most of Yamamoto's soft plastics as it is real fish catcher! I use it mostly as a trailer on my bladed jigs, buzz baits, and occasionally spinner baits in order to add a strong yet somewhat compact baitfish profile. The tail on this bait works at just about any speed and the available colors all exhibit fish appeal. Amazingly though, the soft plastic on this bait holds up much better than the majority of Yamamoto's soft plastic offerings, as once properly glued, I have able to catch many fish, even the toothy varieties, without having to replace it; making them worth the price.

Everyone should have these bad boys in their tackle boxes for fresh and salt water. I have caught bonito, bass, trout, ladyfish, tarpon, and jacks. My brother- in- law has caught all of those plus tilapia, his biggest redfish, and his biggest snook. The best way we found to use this is to jig it and put a worm rattle up into the body to give it some sound. A must buy product.

I have used this on flats, dock lights, and spillways for snook. It works extremely well with a loop knot. It is DOA, great quality. My only complaint is the ones with the green or yellow tail, lose the tail extremely easy, but you will catch more snook tHan you will lose tails.

The DOA soft jerk baits are my go to artificial baits when I 'm fishing for Spotted Sea Trout and Redfish. I use both the split- tail and paddle tail versions in various colors, including silver& black, Chartreuse, Rootbeer/Gold Glitter, and Glow. I use a weighted weedless hook for the split- tails and a 1/4 jig head for the paddle tails, and I can honestly say, they have never let me down.
