I 've been using Zoom products for several years now and use the swimmin chunk as a trailer on a 1/4 ounce jig and also a 3/8 ounce jig. i usually dip the legs in a chartreuse garlic dye, and most of my jigs are a shade of green( usually a green crawfish) not sure if the bass see this as a bluegill or crawfish; only that it catches fish!! i fish an extremely clear, fairly deep lake so detail is very important.

I used a white rooster tail on my first trip fishing this year and caught 18 crappie in about 40 minutes. I used a yellow rooster tail on my second fishing trip and caught a nice crappie, a nice blue gill and two average size bass in 15 minutes. It's hard to beat Panther Martins for a variety of applications: trout in the Sierras, panfish and small bass in ponds, etc. Perhaps no other lure is quite as versatile across so many platforms. They are n't cheap, but they 're well made. They run/spin true, and the hooks are sharp. Love 'em.

Went out trout fishing and they were ONLY biting on THESE lures! I went through at least a dozen different lures/bait without a single nibble before stringing one of these up. After that, all I used were these lures and caught all day long! I used a slow to medium retrieve method with nothing fancy and the result was amazing! There were several times in a row that I did n't reel in without a fish at the end of my line! When the saucy swimmers came out, I thought, why not give them a try. I 'm glad did. Nothing is the scent something the fish seem to lock on to, they are extremely durable. I used to use strike king rage swimmers and they were decent, but if I can catch on 6- 7 fish per bait on average with the googan baits, versus 2- 3 with strike king its a no brainer. I live in Florida and electric shades is the color of choice for me. Buy them 3 packs at a time and save. Want to save more? After almost 50 years of fishing in PA, VA and DE, still my favorite trout and panfish lure. I 've used different colors but yellow body with a silver blade and black with a gold blade( 1/8 th oz) seem to work the best for me in creeks and ponds. I tie a tiny barrel swivel with a clip directly on to my line( 10 lbs. braid) and attach the lure to the clip. Simple lure, casts and retrieves well, good construction. Explosive hits. Fun to use.
