I am not much of a VMC fan anymore but I do like this hook because it has a slightly longer shank and heavier wire than most other trailer hooks available today that I have personally seen. One thing though, do not use the tubing over the eye as shown to rig this hook. Instead mount the hook then put the tubing on top as a keeper or I actually use an oversized soft plastic earing back[s]( a single one above or one above and the other below the hook) instead, as otherwise, the hook could get stuck off to either side which will cause it to catch everything else in the water but the fish.

Went out trout fishing and they were ONLY biting on THESE lures! I went through at least a dozen different lures/bait without a single nibble before stringing one of these up. After that, all I used were these lures and caught all day long! I clipped an 1/8oz split shot on the lure right above the blade( making sure that the blade could still spin freely) to give me better casting distance with my spinning rod and it was just the right distance at just the right depth. I used a slow to medium retrieve method with nothing fancy and the result was amazing! There were several times in a row that I did n't reel in without a fish at the end of my line! After almost 50 years of fishing in PA, VA and DE, still my favorite trout and panfish lure. I 've used different colors but yellow body with a silver blade and black with a gold blade( 1/8 th oz) seem to work the best for me in creeks and ponds. I tie a tiny barrel swivel with a clip directly on to my line( 10 lbs. braid) and attach the lure to the clip. Simple lure, casts and retrieves well, good construction. Explosive hits. Fun to use.
