LO BLOW LOBO
These are knockoffs of the original Yakima Rooster Tail. They are priced at about 1/2 the price of a real rooster tail. I picked these up at my local Dick's without really knowing what they were. I initially intended to use them as kind of a jig, but quickly learned that is not really their intended use. These things can really catch some fish. Just yesterday I was at my `` confidence pond '' and could n't get bit on anything, tied on the orange/ chartreuse one and got bit first cast but he spit it. Switched to the chartreuse/ purple and landed 3 on 10 casts and got bit just about every other cast. These things are advertised as `` deep swimmers '' which I 'd kind of disagree with. Once you start burning them back they probably run 2- 3 feet deep rather than the 5ft advertised. These DO NOT spin very well. Probably 1/2 of the casts you 'll finally get the bait back to you and realize it was a wasted cast because the spoon was upside down and did n't spin. Because of these `` dud casts '' I 'll be buying some brand- name Yakima rooster tails probably this very afternoon, because when these rooster tail style baits are spinning they seem to absolutely knock 'em dead. Gets a 5 star because for$ 9 and 5 lures, these things are an excellent value. However, I 'm definitely going to be buying at least one or two real rooster tails to see if I can get it to more consistently spin. I 'll add that my no- spins have all been on barrel swivels, so its possible that having two swivels is messing with the lures ability to work. I 'll be throwing one without the barrel swivel soon to see if that helps also.

This lure is great. I caught something almost as soon as I tossed it in. However, it's too good for what I needed it for. We were doing catch and release and this is not good for that. The three hooks made it tough to get out in time. Luckily I was able to and the little fella was able to swim away, but I stopped using it after that. Started using fake worms and did n't catch anything else. It's very realistic looking. I 'm going to try to replace the three hooks with a single or just try to remove two of the three.

The Wedding Ring trolled with a Berkley Red Wiggler Gulp worm for a tail is a killer. Troll it behind a christmas tree or lake troll rig about three feet and I promise you will catch trout when no one else is. You can also tip it with a couple of salmon eggs. The good part first. I originally bought this for bass fishing, but I caught different species with it( Bluegills, Crappie, Small- mouths, Large- mouths). I do n't understand the idea behind how it simply attracts fishes, but they will definitely bite this lure if they 're enticed by looking at it long enough. And this lure comes in the best color( chartreuse) for fishing, which is a plus. Now to the Cons. While I knew that this spinner was going to sink, I was however shocked at how it swam. As it gets reeled back in, it quickly rises to the surface. Unlike other spinners that stays under the water no what speed, if this lure gets reeled in too fast then it will surface. I thought this was unusual since it's a weighted spinner and it should have stayed underwater the entire time. Overall conclusion: It's a great lure, whether if you 're a beginner or if you want to catch many fishes or if you 're just interested into buying a cheaper lure. This is my first Blue Fox lure and I 'm glad that I made this purchase.

I fish the Mosquito Lagoon religiously! Lately, the water has been super murky from high winds. That leaves you with three options. Luck, bait that leaves a sent trail, or loud baits. I do n't like to smell like bait, or clean it out of my boat and even though I 'm Irish, my luck is n't that great! This thing will catch some fish! The vibration is intense. I could see the flash through the brown murk and it's durable! O caught at least 10 fish before I had to replace the plastic. I put a gulp shrimp on the spinner and the action got even better. Redfish, trout, snook and even tarpon were hammering this thing. When I got home, I threw one in my pond and caught several bass on it too. It's the best$ 3 I 've ever spent on a lure.

This bait has done well catching small bass and large panfish, I like that the pack of spinner heads can fit a number of different colored baits, and the swimbait bodies are pretty resilient. One held up to about a dozen small to medium fish catches( and more strikes) before it finally lost its tail. I initially bought a pack of these without knowing that they used the Pecos- specific swimbait bodies due to low stock/organization at my local store. 6th Sense makes refill 12- packs of these swimbaits, and I wish that these were also available at DSG.

Went out trout fishing and they were ONLY biting on THESE lures! I went through at least a dozen different lures/bait without a single nibble before stringing one of these up. After that, all I used were these lures and caught all day long! I clipped an 1/8oz split shot on the lure right above the blade( making sure that the blade could still spin freely) to give me better casting distance with my spinning rod and it was just the right distance at just the right depth. I used a slow to medium retrieve method with nothing fancy and the result was amazing! There were several times in a row that I did n't reel in without a fish at the end of my line! Put these in your tackle box, you wo n't be disappointed!

After almost 50 years of fishing in PA, VA and DE, still my favorite trout and panfish lure. I 've used different colors but yellow body with a silver blade and black with a gold blade( 1/8 th oz) seem to work the best for me in creeks and ponds. I tie a tiny barrel swivel with a clip directly on to my line( 10 lbs. braid) and attach the lure to the clip. Simple lure, casts and retrieves well, good construction. Explosive hits. Fun to use.
