I bought this a month ago and was able to assemble it pretty quickly by myself and then load it up with 424+ lb of dumb bells and kettle bells to clean up my home gym area. Working as described and I 'm pleased so far. The lower rack with 264 pounds of kettle bells may be just slightly sagging in the middle and so I put the heavier weights on the ends and I may add a wood block of support in the middle.

This dumbbell rack is sturdy and very well constructed. One corner had a minor bend in the metal where it had been damaged at the factory. Each level of the rack can hold four pairs of light weights or three pairs of medium weights. It is very stable on my carpeted floor. It would be helpful if the weight- touching surfaces of the rack were cushioned to reduce noise and scratching of the dumbbells. I applied self- adhesive foam weatherstrip to my rack, but this has not been totally satisfactory as the foam does not stay in place, and it slightly sticks to the flat- sided dumbbells. The space between the front and back verticals of the cross members is wider than the handles of my lighter dumbbells( 10 pounds and under) causing the bells to rest on the verticals rather than on the horizontal surfaces of the cross members. I eliminated this problem by reversing the front cross member of the lower rack, which is where I store my lighter dumbbells. The cross member verticals are too tall, causing my fingers to occasionally get pinched between them and the handles of my dumbbells. I eliminated this problem on my top rack by reversing both cross members so that their verticals are on the outside rather than the inside. However, in this configuration the dumbbells could fall through. Only one tool is needed for assembly, a 14 mm box end wrench( ratcheting is easiest). Ignore the instruction sheet ’s directions to finger- tighten the bolts and nuts. In order for there to be enough play in the assembly to get all of the bolts into the holes, the nuts must be loose. The rack can be assembled more quickly and easily in this order:( 1) install all of the plastic end caps,( 2) lay the right frame on its side and loosely bolt- in the four cross members,( 3) set the left frame on top of the four cross members and loosely install the remaining bolts and nuts, and( 4) set the rack upright and tighten all bolts and nuts. The rack ’s fasteners are hex head bolts, which have sharp edges that mar the dumbbells. I replaced them with M8- 1. 25 x 16mm button head socket cap screws, which match the rack ’s threads. They also improved the appearance of the rack.

I almost did n't give this a try because some of the reviews said neoprene weights wo n't fit on the sides... glad I gave it a try anyways. I was able to fit my 10/12/15lbs neoprene weights on the side. The 10lbs just made it, 8lbs and lower wo n't fit at all. The 2lbs are a bit too short to fit properly on the crossbars but sit at an angle on it fine( I was n't surprised about that). Enough room to fit two more pairs of dumbells on the crossbars for a total of 10 pairs including the 2lbs. Easy to put together and fits nicely in my small workout area. I pushed it a round a little bit and it's a little wobbly but did n't seem like it would fall over. As mentioned in another review I would be still be careful/avoid small kids leaning on it.

I originally went to Dicks to purchase the Ethos 5 post weight plate holder but when I came across this new 6 post version I knew it would be perfect for my space. This plate tree is very well built. The solid yet compact design is a great space saver and it holds my bumper plates with ease. I currently have 460lbs loaded on this rack and it could easily hold more. The casters roll well even while loaded up with plates, and the ability to move the unit around your space is a nice feature that I didn ’ t originally think was a must have item for me, but now that I have it, I would never go back to a non- rollable rack. It is incredibly convenient. The packaging was decent, but could probably be improved upon. They do make use of styrofoam and foam sleeves, but the contents inside the package were able to shift around some. I found one or two very small scratches on the base of my rack which isn ’ t a big deal for me at all, but I do think the packaging is worth mentioning as it could possibly lead to potential damages during shipping for others. Installation is an absolute breeze. The rack does come with installation instructions, but this can easily be put together without any guidance. Only tools needed are a hex socket and a wrench and the entire rack can be assembled in about 5- 10 minutes. My entire garage gym has been designed around the ability to save space and double utilize the area efficiently. This rack by Ethos was the perfect solution to help me stay organized and minimize the footprint needed to store my weights. Highly recommended!

Very sturdy rack and ideal size for the space I allocated. Easy to assemble, you just need the proper tools… a ratchet socket along with a box or open- end wrench worked just fine!!

I read the review about people having issues with building it. You just need two wrenches( 9/16 or 15mm) to tighten the screw and bult together. Note do not tighten all the screws until the whole thing is assembled. I am able to use 25lb weights on

Just purchased and assembled this rack. No tools required to put it together, and from box to finished product it took about 5 minutes. PROS:- Design- Ease of assembly- Rod retention clips( FAR superior to the comparable product sold by B* ss Pr* and C* bella ’s)- Veneer finish in a Cherrywood look- Marketer of this product is based in Wisconsin- Reasonable price/ good value CONS:- Misrepresented as “ American Cherry ”, yet it ’s made of an MDF material with a veneer that looks like Cherry- Feet on the stand were haphazardly placed, so not perfectly stable- Made in China( may explain both of the above), yet value pricing likely requires it- Styrofoam in packaging( there are more earth- friendly materials today) Durability will be determined over time. Highly recommended!
