I have installed these many times as I switch out locks between accessories. If the lock core is installed properly, you can NOT use the master/installation key to remove the core when it is LOCKED. The person giving 1 star may have a faulty accessory or did not install the core all the way. Or is was unlocked.;)

I like that ican re- core the lock to match the integrated locks on the rack- BUT- I 'd like it better if Thule would have matched them for me when I ordered them( together) or had an exchange program! Thule fully supports their products. The Wheel Strap was easy to purchase on the site. It took me less than 15 minutes to find and buy.
