I use this knife for skinning and quartering axis deer, and of all the knives I have( even those made for skinning deer) this knife is my favorite. Just the right size, holds an edge well, sharpens quickly, and hasn ’ t broken a tip while separating hip sockets. Though I read that some thought the snarl's blade was too thick and not sharp, I liked the thickness and thought that the blade was very sharp. I was concerned before I got the knife that without a small guard extending out in front of your middle finger like the Brous Silent Stalker that there might be a chance that your middle finger might come in contact with the blade, but after feeling how the blade is locked into your fingers I no longer concerned about that. When my son got this for Christmas he thought is was very cool, my son is 33 and can handle a knife. A nice EDC to carry in your day pack or bug- out bag. Thanks.- Michael Dixon

I have been using this knife for 15 years now.( I purchased in 2008) I have gut multiple deer of my own and friends over the years. It has been super dependable and the sheath has held up well after all these years in the elements. It always takes a good edge and does exactly what I need it to. Good cheap knife! I think I 've had it for over five years now And thinking about buying a second. Comfortable to use, it's my daily knife. It's big enough to cut most vegetable and meats but small enough to make more precision cuts. I see a lot of people saying it dulls quick, mine is still pretty sharp. But even then, I like to keep mine kind of dull anyways. I use it to recover bones and teeth from roadkill, for jewelry. So having a small, somewhat blunt knife is great for hacking at bones and prying teeth, without having to worry about it chipping or snapping. A great tool for someone who needs it for a low price point!!! Can not recommend enough!

I try very hard to get the sage green color. But with a bit of patience, I was rewarded!! Easy and safe to use with thick gloves or even mittens( yes it is cold up here in winter!!) Blade lenght is just perfect for bushcraft and even survival. I do n't need or want to use a big crocodile bundee size knife anyway! The only down side, its the sheath itself! I had to cut the nylon sheath to get the plastic insert to fix it into a molle tactical sheath( like the emerson molle knife sheath).

After a YouTube video and reading instructions I was on to sharpening two of my pocket knives with ease. Will need to practice more for sure, but I was able to get a super sharp edge at least at some parts of the knife. It ’s light, handy, and the grip of the knife is very comfortable, even with the slim minimalist scales. This is a great knife. Perfectly balanced and opens very fast and with intentions. If you have to deploy the knife for protection, whoever is on the other end is gon na be second guessing their self after hearing and seeing this bad boy open. I see some people have complained about the clip but it goes smoothly in and out of my pocket, with no trouble at all. It's actually one of the best clips I 've used honestly. I ca n't even tell there's a knife in my pocket. I have to check sometimes and give myself a quick pat on the pocket, just to make sure it's in there. I would like to see this knife about an inch shorter. I 'd definitely buy it again. Just to clarify, the size is fine because of the perfect balance and weight. I 'd just like to see a smaller version, that's all. Before this knife, I carried a Gerber Highbrow, Compact version for about a year and it was heavy compared to the Flash AT. I can put my phone in the same pocket as the Flash AT and not have to worry about scratching up my phone. It stays so well placed in my pocket because of the deep carry pocket clip. If you 're thinking about getting this knife, I say go for it. You wo n't be disappointed. Great job SOG!

Years ago when I was younger and less in the funds, carried a trident as my edc because it was well priced, comfortable, and durable. I recently came across this relatively new version and decided to give it a go for Nostalgia ’s sake. Man is this thing cool. It ’s super solid without feeling too heavy, it ’s comfortable in the hand, and really just an all- around fun fidget knife. The AT action is crisp and powerful. My only gripe that ’s not really a gripe is that the new closed locking mechanism will take some getting used to in its place on the top of the knife as opposed to in the handle. I ’ ve yet to put this one through the ringer, but it feels even more solid than the previous iterations, and I used to beat the hell out of those things.

I was gifted this knife about 6 years ago, used it almost daily, and it had never disappointed me. Unfortunately, I lost it a little while ago, and I have n't been able to find another one to compare, so I 'm back to buy another one. It was n't bulky in any of my pocket's( including women's shallow jean pockets), and had a sturdy enough clip to stay in place without slipping out accidentally. It was stiff to open one- handed, but I personally enjoyed that so it did n't come open in my bag or pants, and the blade stayed sharp no matter what kind of work I was using it for.
