For me the most important thing was to be able to cut a lure off without having the knot remain behind on the hook or stuck in the eye of the lure. Also I wanted to be able to cut tag ends extremely close. Finally, I wanted to be able to cut even a limp line with one hand. These scissors do all those things. My only regret is that they were the last pair available. I am a combat Marine. I MUST have at least two of everything.

I got the super line scissors about a year ago and found they work great on mono and 50lb. braid and OK on 30lb. braid. Just got a new one for my salt water tackle bag and noticed the cutting edges are different. The new ones work great on everything.

I have carried the same Gerber Multi- Tool for well over 25 years and a week ago I lost it, it went* missing*, who knows, in any case, I ordered a new Truss and I am VERY happy with it. I do some gun work at home and in the field and it seems to be perfect and fully up to the task!

I have owned my Truss for a year now and I use it almost daily, it has always performed when asked to. The blades are easy to maintain sharpness, the pliers are rigid and strong, and the scissors keep impressing me with what they will cut. I personally own three of these. One for my bunker gear, one for my station pants, and one for my EDC. It is as solid as they come and just perfect for most tasks, even ones it should not be doing( firefighters have a way of doing that to tools) I have gotten plenty of other people in my department on this bandwagon, and I now exclusively purchase Gerber knives and miltitools. [ I had a first generation WAVE multi- tool before. I loved it dearly. It had everything one could possibly ask for. I used it during my time in the military and well into my civilian life. Never once had a problem with it at all because Leatherman usually( and for good reason) means quality. I was heartbroken when it was stolen from me. Kind of felt like losing an old friend, really. Funny to have such feelings towards an inanimate object, but we had done a lot together. Breaking down weapons, fixing stuff around the house, pulling hooks out of the mouths of trout and salmon among other things. It feels good to have a Leatherman again.

The Surge is by far the heaviest multitool, perhaps a bit too much to use as EDC unless you are using the larger pliers all the time. The scissors are the best in a multitool or knife: smooth spring action, long blades, not finicky or flimsy. Top recommendation if you need this size of multitool.
