[ My kids and I love to fish. We prefer a collapsible net, and have tried several. Most are flimsey, or hard to open/close. We had one that would sometimes collapse when you tried to land the fish. This is the best one we 've ever tried. When it unfolds and locks open, it has a very solid feel and latch- no way that is accidently coming undone. And then, with a quick twist of the friction fit handle, it will slide in to reduce length, or slide back out to extend to its full length. So cool. We 've landed 10+ pound catfish in this with no problem. If we lost it, I would buy again in a heartbeat.

Rubber netting doesn ’ t allow hooks to get buried in it like nylon. It extends to get those fish all the way at the back of the boat. It floats, so even if it falls in the water, you can get it back. I would not try that with a fish in the net though. My only complaint was shipping... way too long with UPS ground. My old net was a cotton type net which caused a lot of problems releasing the trout while fly fishing. This should solve my problem of the tangles that occurred with the flies getting hung up and should be better on the release of the fish as well. If you are fishing for big lake trout it would probably need to be bigger but for our trips to the San Juan River it will be very functional and make my trips much more enjoyable and a quicker trip back to the water for the trout as well. I have a cheap hammock that the bug net torn in. I purchased another Eno product since my Eno underquilt added so much more comfort to cold nights I thought their bugnet might also. I was not disappointed. The net once fully installed has enough space to throw your pack underneath giving it a dry bug free place. Coating the net in permethrin before your trip adds another layer of protection for the deep woods. As a high school tennis coach, I am often looking to find ways of getting my players some valuable practice time when the weather is less than desirable and indoor court time at a club is not possible. I have yet to use the net with my athletes, but after setting it up and testing that process I feel that the net is a decent portable net that is easy to set up and take down. I do not think that it would be a good idea to have 4 or so athletes serving on the net at once as the net itself is somewhat thin, but for volleying games, or small skill related, or singles challenge games it should work nicely.

The only downside is that the net is very snug so it ’s a little difficult to slip on, maybe that ’s a good thing though to make it more sturdy. Wheels make it extremely easy for anyone to pick it up and roll around, even for kids about 8+. Also comes with a duffel bag to store it all in which is great as well. [ I bought this net to use while fishing from my kayak. I like that the handle folds in half making it more compact, however the hinge when latched comes undone a little easier then i would like. It doesn ’ t effect landing fish but it is annoying when you set the net down it wants to close. Also the net does not float so I had to add pipe insulation around the handle. Over all it ’s a great net, those are my only 2 complaints.
