I ’ ve been looking for a portable shade option since forever, but I didn ’ t want an entire tent production and umbrellas weren ’ t cutting it anymore. I wanted something that moved with me, or the direction of the sun, quickly- no bulk, one- person setup. I knew there had to be something better than the just tents or umbrellas. In walks the Shibumi Park Vista... and it was love at first sight. I ’ m 5 ” tall and even I can set this up, by myself, in about 2 minutes. The design is so clever! You can tell that Shibumi thought through the details and practical application. It ’s very lightweight and has a small footprint when you ’ re packing. I can toss it in the back of the car, carry it to our destination, and have shade almost anywhere, without looking like a clumsy fool trying to set something up that isn ’ t worth the work. We just used our new tent last weekend. It was easy to put up and take down, had plenty of room for a queen air bed and 2 adults with all our gear. It rained both nights and the second night was a storm like I had never seen before. It rained really hard for several hours, totally filling a 4 inch pot that was sitting outside. We were dry in our tent with only a very small amount of water coming in and most of it was near the door. We were very pleased with how the tent performed and would buy again. A larger storm flap, especially over the door would be a nice addition. So for all the reviews of people complaining about the tent leaking, please be realistic, if it is raining while you are camping, water is going to get into your tent, if it leaks like a sieve that ’s a different issue, maybe you have the tent set up in a bad area, if you have maybe a 1/4 cup of water in your tent after a rain storm that dropped 4 inches of water in about 3 hours, you have a good tent. After researching tents for about two years( seriously! I read reviews on everything out there), I finally decided on this one and so far I could n't be happier with my purchase. I just returned from camping in this tent with two other adults for four nights. We all agreed that it's just the right size for four unrelated adults with all their gear( i. e. friends who would prefer not to sleep 6 inches from each other's faces); for the three of us, it was luxuriously spacious. I sprayed the tent and rainfly with waterproofing prior to the trip. We experienced two heavy thunderstorms and the tent did n't leak a single drop and the overhang of the rainfly even enabled us to keep the windows cracked. While it's not a bathtub- style floor, the seams are double- sewn in a way that makes leaks where the floor meets the wall nearly impossible. We appreciated the spacious gear pouches along the walls; the gear loft overhead is too high in the air to be able to easily reach to put gear up there( the center height of this tent is about 86 ''!) but the lantern hook is great. There are other thoughtful touches in the tent's design, as well, including air vents along the floor and fabric that covers the door zipper to prevent rain leaks. The significant number of windows ensured a well- ventilated tent that was bearable even when getting pummeled with midday direct sun. Set- up takes about 45 minutes; it's not hard but there are a number of steps. I think it will get a little faster as I get more familiar with the tent. I definitely would n't be able to set this tent up alone. All in all, it's comfortable, well made, and kept me dry.

Bought this for Valentines Day for my wife. We used it the very next weekend since both our kids had a soccer tournament. It was a cold windy day with a ton of sand on the soccer fields. [ My first trip with my new Tungsten 1 Person tent was to Big Bend Ranch State Park last November. Temps ranged from lower 80 ’s during the day to lower 40 ’s at night. The tent weighed almost half what my previous one did. I was really happy about that. It also sets up in only a couple of minutes even when using the rain fly. On warmer nights the Tungsten was perfect without the fly. Great views of a star filled sky that way as well. On the coolest nights I was super comfortable with the fly on to help retain some heat. I was pleasantly surprised to find the air circulation was good enough to almost prevent all condensation from building up inside the fly. I am 6 ’ 2 ” and there was plenty of room for me and my long sleeping bag plus all of the gear that makes me happy to have close at hand. Don ’ t misunderstand though; it is definitely a one person tent. After those 4 nights I would definitely recommend this tent. It has all of the quality you would expect from a premium brand like Marmot. Get one for yourself without fear of disappointment.

I bought this tent long before the pandemic and have taken it car camping 2- 3 times a year since. Everyone loves how these set up so fast, including me, but putting it away is a bit more work, just FYI. I have found that sort of rolling it up and leaning on it with your body weight at the end works. I do n't think I 'll ever go back to the traditional pole tent set up. Favorite part of this tent is the mesh ceiling. If the forecast is dry, you can leave the rainfly off and look at the stars. After about a dozen times camping, during a windstorm, one of the pole connections broke and we 've had to hobble together a solution, but we 've taken it camping still at least 4- 5 more times since. P. S. It's pretty waterproof, but you really need to stake it well for the rain to go where you want it to. Also, because of the slanted walls, you do n't want your air mattress touching the sides during the rain either.

This tent showed up just in time to load it up and head to the mountains. My first time setting it up was in the dark with some rain... and it was really fast and easy. Large enough for queen air mattress with plenty of extra space. The poles are pretty beefy, and the whole tent once set up with guy lines is very sturdy. I have two large dogs that appreciated the huge vestibule while it was raining. There was very little condensation inside the tent throughout the night. Over all a very functional and well made tent. I highly recommend getting the footprint or using a tarp as the floor seems a little too thin to be directly sitting on top of sticks and other debris. Well done kelty!

[ I was originally somewhat skeptical about this purchase as there are so few reviews online, and a couple questionable. I must say after our first trip with it( Colorado, 10k elevation, 30• nights) we love it! It seems very well made- sturdy fabric and the seams are sealed. Was comfortable for our 3 person family( with bags for 5 nights of camping), though admittedly may have been a bit snug for 4. I found the front vestibule to be very functional- we ended up using it to house our group for a game of cards during a heavy rain the last night of our 5 night trip. I purchased the matching footprint and there was absolutely no condensation or leakiness inside the tent despite it raining on and off during our stay, and then pretty heavily/consistently for a few hours our last night. Only used it 5 days and nights so far, but it worked really well for us- highly recommend!

The guy lines can be rolled up into the attached sleeves when not in use. Included stakes are heavy duty. The front porch awning wins the day as a stow area for gear or as a covered area to hang out. Initially I wondered how the tent would breath with just the one small vent, but the rain fly stakes out nicely creating airflow( not to mention the ventilation options provided by front awning system). The tent easily fits back into the included carrying pack- no wrestling required. Cons: the front zipper is really tight and requires two hands to zip( may just be my tent, idk). No included ground sheet, which would be recommended to extend life of the tent. Overall, this is what I feel is a best- in- class considering all factors. We just received our new tent and set it up this afternoon. It practically set itself up. My wife and I easily had it set up in about 5 min, her first comment was `` Well that was easy, a lot better then the Coleman '' I 'm anxious to see how fast I can put it up next time, knowing the routine. Our biggest issue was the rain fly, but again knowing the routine it will go better next time. The lights were a definite highlight for my wife, she really liked this feature. One thing we liked with our Coleman that is n't on the Core is the D- shape swinging door. Not really a big deal. We ca n't wait to go camping!!!

I have never in my life wrote a review but I buy based on reviews and I couldn ’ t let this one go. This is a very durable tough build tent. I got caught in a very nasty storm with high winds and this tent stayed in tack and nothing broke or ripped. I had to hold the side wall so it doesn ’ t collapse on us but eventually we left everything in the tent and ran to the truck. That tent took a bitting for 5 hours in the wind/rain and didn ’ t not break. I had some water in the tent but compare to how bad the storm was the water was nothing. The stakes did pull up but didn ’ t damage the eyes, seems held up wonderful, metal poles didn ’ t brake or bend, zippers work, lights work. I thought I would had just to throw it in the trash after the storm but oh boy I was wrong. Great buy and I hope this review helps someone make the decision I did 3 year ago!

We ’ d previously had the 6 person instant cabin which was too small for us. We roll with 2 queen air mattresses and there wasn ’ t room to even stand in that one. The 9 person lighted tent gives us plenty of real estate for our 2 mattresses and luggage and even leaves some space to spare for a chair and kids to play cards on the floor. The lights are a bonus. The DogHouse would sleep 2 very comfortably, you could sleep 4 if you do n't mind being a sardine. Steep sided walls gives the tent a very spacious feel. I could erect and take down the tent solo, but did struggle a bit the first time I pitched the tent to insert the tent pole into the final grommet. Also took me a while to figure out how to get the horizontal top pole out of the snap when breaking the tent down. Overall, the tent erected pretty quickly and easily in subsequent uses after the fabric stretched out a bit. Good ventilation, beefy stakes, seems to be a strong, stable tent, certainly fine for summer camping, probably 3 season. Worst conditions I 've been in are moderate wind and rain overnight, and the tent shed water no problem. I 'm assuming the fabric has a DWR coating, and it's unclear how long the waterproofing would last. I did not buy the ridiculously expensive footprint, just used a tarp close to the correct size and that worked fine. Tent material did catch in the zipper when zipping open or close the door. I wonder if anyone has solved this though.
