[ Solidly- built and functional car- camping tent. Ample space for our crew of two adults and a toddler. Easy setup. Pitches taut. Fun, retro color scheme. The guy lines can be rolled up into the attached sleeves when not in use. Included stakes are heavy duty. The front porch awning wins the day as a stow area for gear or as a covered area to hang out. Initially I wondered how the tent would breath with just the one small vent, but the rain fly stakes out nicely creating airflow( not to mention the ventilation options provided by front awning system). The tent easily fits back into the included carrying pack- no wrestling required. Cons: the front zipper is really tight and requires two hands to zip( may just be my tent, idk). No included ground sheet, which would be recommended to extend life of the tent. Overall, this is what I feel is a best- in- class considering all factors. For a reasonably priced four person tent with some thoughtful product design, you could do no wrong with the Kelty Rumpus 4. Ca n't wait for the next outing!

[ Was looking for a car camping tent, larger and more comfortable than the backpacking tent I 've had for ages. The DogHouse would sleep 2 very comfortably, you could sleep 4 if you do n't mind being a sardine. Steep sided walls gives the tent a very spacious feel. I could erect and take down the tent solo, but did struggle a bit the first time I pitched the tent to insert the tent pole into the final grommet. Also took me a while to figure out how to get the horizontal top pole out of the snap when breaking the tent down. Overall, the tent erected pretty quickly and easily in subsequent uses after the fabric stretched out a bit. Good ventilation, beefy stakes, seems to be a strong, stable tent, certainly fine for summer camping, probably 3 season. Worst conditions I 've been in are moderate wind and rain overnight, and the tent shed water no problem. I 'm assuming the fabric has a DWR coating, and it's unclear how long the waterproofing would last. I did not buy the ridiculously expensive footprint, just used a tarp close to the correct size and that worked fine. Tent material did catch in the zipper when zipping open or close the door. I wonder if anyone has solved this though.

As I write, it is 2024. I have had the tent since 2016. I use it as a 1- person tent. I average about 45 days a year in this tent. It is not uncommon for me to pitch it, and leave it set- up, for 14 days at a time... this long UV- exposure use is hard on tents. I have had zero problems with the tent. Never got wet, never blown away, no repairs, zippers are still 100%. It is, of course, pretty darn snug if used by two people... but, that's the nature of 2- person backpacking tents, regardless of make/model.

My 2p Marmot Tungsten has been very reliable. It kept me dry through a few very heavy downpours in the Midwest. This spring I took the greatest leap of adolescence and bought my first tent independent of my family. I knew I needed something that toed the fine line between durability and portability, as I would primarily be using it for river trips and backpacking. After an extensive and frankly obsessive research process, only the Tungsten 2p met my many demands. After some agonizing, I decided to take the leap, despite never owning a Marmot tent before. I am so glad I did! My first night in this tent, my dog and I stayed warm and dry despite the inch of snow that fell on top of us. This tent vents in a way that frankly I did n't know was possible and feels relatively spacious for being just a 2 person. I would say it can comfortably fit two average sized people and two medium sized packs. I have used it now for an entire spring and summer season in the peaks of the San Juans and various river canyons of the Southwest. Never once have I awoken to a drop of condensation nor had it rattle in obnoxious winds. Its quick and easy to set up solo and can pack down incredibly small. The wide open mesh top allows for spectacular star viewing and perhaps best if all, it's a spectacular color! I could n't recommend this tent enough if you need something light and durable or just want to make a wise investment in an introductory tent. 100/10

I bought this tent long before the pandemic and have taken it car camping 2- 3 times a year since. Everyone loves how these set up so fast, including me, but putting it away is a bit more work, just FYI. I have found that sort of rolling it up and leaning on it with your body weight at the end works. I do n't think I 'll ever go back to the traditional pole tent set up. Favorite part of this tent is the mesh ceiling. If the forecast is dry, you can leave the rainfly off and look at the stars. After about a dozen times camping, during a windstorm, one of the pole connections broke and we 've had to hobble together a solution, but we 've taken it camping still at least 4- 5 more times since. P. S. It's pretty waterproof, but you really need to stake it well for the rain to go where you want it to. Also, because of the slanted walls, you do n't want your air mattress touching the sides during the rain either.

Had the Storm Break 3 years so far, and maybe a couple/few dozen uses. At half the price of the similarly featured tents from the pro competition, it's an impressive tent IMO. It's a couple pounds heavier, but that has very little effect in my application( mostly motorcycle camping). I 've had zero problems with poles, zippers, stitching, fabric, or other parts/details. I 'm relatively careful and use common sense in setup and breakdown of the tent. I use a decent ground cloth to protect the floor and avoid exposure to sharp sticks and rock etc. Also avoid over tensioning the loops and holding points when staking and setting up guylines. I 'm careful with zippers and do n't force them or zip/unzip carelessly or super fast. In my limited experience, the zippers have been excellent. The vestibule flap zippers can be a bit fussy, and I simply use a finger to `` lead '' the zipper- pull path; this prevents the overlap fabric from getting caught in the pull. I 've used it in light rain and moderately windy conditions, but not in extreme weather. It has performed and held up just fine. Having read some of the negative reviews, I do n't understand how poles can just `` break '' or bend into some strange wavy deformed condition that some have claimed- that's odd IMO, and makes me wonder if those individuals are n't revealing the entire story/truth or maybe were careless? Setup is quick and pretty simple, and is doable in the dark if you 're familiar with the process and the tent. I really like the overall design and features: roomy, vestibules, inside mesh pockets in all 4 corners, interior hanger loops, the fly- great tent in my experience!

I 've had my dog in it with my( 110lbs). and spent probably 50 nights in it since i bought it a couple of years ago. The Quest Overlook 6 person dome tent seems to work great for our family of 5! I would say 6 people in it would be cramped. Setup took about 10 minutes and was much easier with 2 people doing it. Overall this is a really nice tent for the price. Everything is really well packed and instructions are attached to the carrying bag and really easy to follow. We did an outside practice run and it took about 15 minutes to unpack and set up and tear down the tent. We did not stake or attach the fly on this test. Also, unlike many tents, this is a tall tent, tall enough for a 6 foot man to stand upright at the tallest point. My favorite part is how easy it was to pack it back up into the carrying bag. It is roomy, not a tight duffel like many other tent bags. You could even store other accessories in the bag if needed. The basic tent without the fly would also be a great secondary tent to set up and use as a bug screen for meals during the peak buggy seasons.

These has thoroughly impressed me so far, we ’ ve used this tent for several years on several annual camping trips now. Our tent survived the winds of a distant tornado that passed through our town. The wind flapped so fast it melted the fabric sleeves covering the joints and exposed some melted foam. The rain fly held on with extremely minor wear, otherwise perfect condition. Not a bad tent size- wise, but it came with NO directions but for 3 very small steps( I mean, SMALL) on the outside of the tent zip bag. Overhead fly takes a while to figure out; you need to attach one of the bottom clips, then another, then drag the fly over the top and continue snapping the clipper tabs as you go until all 4 are in place at the 4 corners. I will be contacting the company this week to ask for directions on how to take it down easier, as the attached poles are difficult to fold up. This is in no way a one- minute set- up.

Received our wine colored purchase 6/4/24 and set it up in the back yard. Forecast predicted showers and thunderstorms the next couple days so wanted to put it to the test. IT PASSED with flying colors IMO. Predicted thunderstorm came through the night of 6/5 in our north Alabama county. Watched the tent sway with wind gusts of, I ’ d say, 40mph. Was a bit concerned as I was watching but it held up and stayed anchored. Now, I did use Coghlans 7 ” aluminum stakes as opposed to those provided and insert on a 30- 45 degree angle as well.

Bought this a few months back. We have two children and two dogs. I decided to go big, because when we go campgrounds, I like to have a little more space to move around( I have hiking backpacks for those adventures). This tent did not disappoint. We have it set up with two twins air mattresses on one side, one king on the other, and the dogs sleep in the middle. One mistake I made was assuming all Core 12 Person Footprints are the same. Make sure you get the Straight Wall Cabin Footprint or you 'll be left with one that doesn ’ t quite fit( see picture). I just ordered the new Straight Wall Footprint and can ’ t wait to use it! Overall water resistance is good, we did get rained on one night with no leaks. Airflow is decent with all windows down. If you want to be a bit extra, we did use an EcoFlow Wave 2 portable air conditioner in the tent and it dd help lower the temp and create more airflow at night( TX gets a little warm). Unlike the other 12 Person Instant Tents, this Straight Wall Cabin can be used without staking it into the ground. I enjoy that feature as some places it ’s hard to drive a stake in. The Instant cabin will collapse without it being staked in. The Tent Kit is also a great addition. Everything you need is there and convenient. I can set it up by myself, but is better with 2 people, especially with the rain fly.

Big Tent, Great Quality- But Could Be Better… Missing A Few Things. This tent is really big inside having the straight side wall design. I have the Core 10 person 14 ’ x 10 ’ instant lighted tent to compare this against for reference. The 16 ’ x 11 ’ straight wall tent seems twice as roomy, able to push items closer to the tent sides and stand every where in it. The instant tent with the sloped side walls kind of bunches the mass towards the middle and it forces you to stand more central in the tent. But the instant tent with the built light in makes for a nice feature. Also, the 16 ’ x 11 ’ straight wall tent is missing the long mesh storage pockets that come with the 14 ’ x 10 ’ instant tent. The instant tent has mesh storage along each end of it that runs side to side and several smaller mesh pouches strategically placed around the tent. The 16 ’ x 11 ’ straight wall tent only has a small mesh storage pouch placed on opposite ends of the tent. Give me the long storage pockets and a built in light and this tent would be the best around. It ’s already great with the space it provides and the material/build quality. It was a little time consuming to assemble by myself, but very intuitive with color coded poles that “ pop ” together when unfolding for length and easy insertion into the pole loops. Take down is a breeze, quick and efficient. I ’ ve put it up twice and camped overnight once having just purchased it. Wanted to try putting in all the stuff the wife and I bring camping- air mattress, small tables, chairs, coolers, etc. No buyer ’s remorse, just can ’ t wait for cooler weather and longer camping trips. I ’ ve had the 14 ’ x 10 ’ instant tent for several week long trips and was always moving items around to get at things or find a place to sit and stand. This 16 ’ x 11 ’ tent will put an end to that. I would recommend the 16 ’ x 11 ’ straight wall tent for a family needing space and freedom to move around inside with several occupants.

[ Very nice tent and very easy to set up even with one person. Purchased sometime ago a 4 person Core tent and have been very satisfied with it as well. Have not used the new 10' x 9' tent as of yet due to current winter season. Can not really see difference in material between two tents. Advertisement states a heavier tent material for the 10'x9' model, I hope so. Again the set up is extremely easy and fast even for one person. Wanted to make sure because I often take with me on a solo fishing trip in early March and just wanted to make sure there would be no hassle in setting the tent up. Lots of ventilation ports at the base in a huge area under the rain fly for ventilation including the screens in door and sides which are ideal for the 90+ degree temp we have during the summer months. Great height for this straight wall tent more than 6 feet and center. Will add further comments after first couple of use of the new tent which I am looking forward to as the spring come around. I recommend this tent. The Core company I believes will stand by their products and not disappear overnight as so many in this line of products. Their reputation appears to be very solid.

This tent is AMAZING. I was able to put the tent up by myself. The directions were clear and attached to inside the bag. The material is thicker than the normal tents. Take down went great and everything went inside the bag, with extra room no less! For the price, I am very impressed with this tent and would definitely recommend it. The rain fly was a great quality but may be a tad difficult to put on for one person just because of height. This is a Great product. I had no issues in setting this up. There is tension in the bars that hold up the tent but by not over forcing the extension of these bars it went up easy. I saw posts where others bent the bar but i suspect they were overly aggressive during set up By not rushing into it my tent was up quickly. I come from the outdoor retail industry, and have been raised on very high- end gear. I have the Mountain Hardwears and the North Faces, etc. They 're amazing, and the Quest tent can not be placed in the category occupied by the big boys. Now with that out of the way, I have to say this about Quest: Wow. I bought this tent as something cheap about which I would n't cry if my kids ruined it. As I type this in late November in the northeast US, the tent has been set up in my back yard for almost three months. It's been through rain, wind and direct sun exposure for all that time, and it's dry inside, standing soundly and the fabric appears no worse for wear. I have no explanation for this, since it's not unfair to say that the Quest is a budget tent, and affordable things are never any good! Right? Well, in this case, please buy with confidence. For the backyard or campgrounds, I think you could do a LOT worse. Not sure I 'd want to haul this thing cross- country for remote camp- outs where things can get hairy, but for most of us, it 'll serve well. The fiberglass poles have taken a bit of a `` set '' while left standing for so long, meaning they have a slight permanent curve to them now, but I doubt most people are in the habit of leaving tents standing for three months. It's great. Getchya one.

[ I bought this tent last year, but was only able to use it for the first time a few weeks ago. I was excited to give it a try and was not disappointed. Some high level thoughts: 1. I wanted a tent with a large vestibule AND that I could stand up in. I live in the PNW and we get a lot of rainy days. The amount of space was perfect for my setup. 2. The initial build is a but confusing at first, but once you figure it out is a breeze to setup. The tent uses a snap system that I have n't encountered before but that I find clever. 3. It took me more than a few minutes and few tries to figure out which is the front door when adding the tarp. BA likely could have added some big arrows or something here. 4. Yes, this is a two person tent, but I use a larger sleeping pad, so really only have space for one( ok with me since I solo mostly). 5. Definitely a car camping tent. But it is compact enough when stored to not take up too much room. 6. My only real complaint is the vestibule has about a 6 '' gap around the bottom edges. So you do n't get a real feeling of 100% privacy. I also use the separate footprint and I kept kicking dirt into the vestibule area that required me to constantly sweep out. On the other hand, did n't have any problem with bugs. 7. Love the amount of doors, including the front and side door. Bottom line: This will be my go- to tent for solo car camping, especially on wet/rainy weekends.

This is another SeaToSummit outstanding product! I went from camping in heavy Kodiak Canvas to a tiny Telos TR2- Two Person Freestanding Tent. This tent is incredibly light weight and suitable for air travel. It conveniently packs up into 3 small stuff sacs that are provided. Freestanding is great, especially when you 're trying to set up on a wood platform. Most of my camping is during the summertime months or in warm climates. I brought this with me down to the USVI and the screens gave me plenty of airflow. I had zero issues with moisture. Personally, I do miss the optional zip up and down windows. I think that option would afford an individual a bit more privacy and night time warmth. As of yet, I have n't personally tent camped during a heatwave.

[ This tent replaces a well- worn SD Clip Flashlight. The Telos is about the same weight, a bit less bulk but considerably roomier on the inside both floorspace and headroom- wise. Important consideration is that the Telos is free standing whereas the CF absolutely had to be staked out. Not a big deal on a forest floor or meadow but much of our useage is streamside, sand and gravel bars. As usual, Sea to Summit's design and engineering is thoughtful and innovative, down to simple things like color coding parts and the modular stuff sack. These guys make crazy good stuff!

This tent worked perfectly. I took it on a week long canoe trip in Maine last week. Had a mix of weather conditions. Two nights dropped to freezing with a heavy frost. One night had heavy rain. The fly cinched down very nicely and nothing got wet. Tent is super light and packed nicely into one of my dry bags. Once set up it was very sturdy in the wind and rain. Im 6 ft tall and liked the wide area for head room and I didn ’ t have issues getting in and out. I would definitely recommend buying the ground tarp which actually attaches to the tent frame itself so there was no slippage and nothing hung out with the rain. I also got the gear loft which was nice for me because I always seem to loose things while sleeping. Overall I would definitely recommend.

[ My wife and I wanted some sort of shelter for car camping that we could cook under. Most tarps are larger than what we need, but this is perfect. Setup is a breeze using the three poles. There are various options for attaching the front to your vehicle. Two stakes allow for attaching the rear. We set it up with our Rav4 hatch open and have no problems opening/closing the hatch with the shelter in place. There's lots of space underneath for cooking and hanging out. One could easily fit four camp chairs under this if needed. We 've only used it twice, but experienced torrential downpours on both occasions and remained perfectly dry sitting underneath it and chilling out. One of the best shelter investments I 've made in the last 45 years.

[ I bought this to replace my 14 year old kelty for backpacking with my dog. I was surprised by the strength of the material considering it feels very thin and fragile in your hand. I am happy to report after two trips with a two year old lab with uncut nails, this tent has held up phenomenally with out any tears or punctures. It is incredibly lightweight and packs well. The overall construction of the tent( zippers, buckles, poles, ect.) is very well made and worth the price. Its also one of the more user friendly small tents, as it is equipped with pockets galore.

[ I recently had the pleasure of using this fantastic 6- person tent on a camping trip, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations! Although it ’s labeled for six people, it comfortably fits four with plenty of space for everyone to stretch out and relax, but that ’s common for tents and I expected that going in and in a survival scenario you probably could squeeze six in there. The black- out interior is really nice as it provides a perfectly dark environment for a restful night ’s sleep, even if the sun is still out as can be common during the mid- summer evenings. I thought the interior would be hotter being mostly black, but it actually wasn ’ t bad. Regardless we were camping during the summer, so we opened the air flow flaps that still have a mesh covering to keep out bugs but allow for additional cooling. What truly impressed me was the ease of setup. I was skeptical of the 60- second advertisement for setup, but I actually had the tent pitched and ready in under 60 seconds, which made settling in a breeze and left more time for enjoying our surroundings. The design is intuitive and straightforward, making it ideal for anyone new to the outdoors. I will say that it is bulky, so there would not be a way to take it on a backpacking trip, but it is great for and really shines at a campground site. It ’s in a long bulky bag, so it might be a little difficult to pack in the car with camping equipment. Overall, this tent combines comfort and convenience in one nice package.

I purchased the Alto TR1 after having a disastrous experience with the MSR Freelite 1. The Alto provides superior shoulder and headroom, with a well placed door. Its super easy to pitch, and the little triangular space that pops out on the otherwise rectangular floor space makes the tent feel roomier, and provides space for my dog or gear. The vestibule is large and the ventilation, overall, with the fly closed, is pretty good. I bikepacked in below freezing overnight temperatures, and there was a bit of condensation at the foot of the tent, and overhead- even with the peak vents open and the cover unzipped. However, somecondensation is always expected when there is ice on the outside of the fly. 🥶 I highly recommend this tent for anyone looking to lighten their load backpacking or bikepacking. The tubular storage pack strapped down nicely on top of my handlebar dry bag. Well done, S2S!

I bought this tent almost 2 years ago, and am not mad about this purchase. Over the couple years I 've owned it, I 've used it 10- 15 times maybe more not sure. So far it has held up very well. I like how it has three different bags one for tent, fly, and poles. This allows for packing it separate in your pack, or between two packs. You also have the option to connect the pole bag to the fly and tent bag to make it on unit vs three. Also these bags also can serve a purpose inside you tent as gear holders and the pole bag as a lantern which is cool that they have more than one use. However the lantern is a joke as it's hard to snap on and comes off easily, so a good idea just needs some improvement. I found when I first bought my tent that it was hard to pack up as I was folding it up, and then it was extremely difficult to get into the bag, same with the fly. After a few times I started just stuffing in into the bag like a stuff sack, works way better and can have it all packed in minutes. Another thing I love is I was on an overnight backing trip by the coast, and during the night it started to rain and continued till mid morning. I was able to take down my tent and pack it up and fold up my footprint all under the fly. After my pack was pretty much ready to go, still under the fly where it was dry, I then took down my fly and poles packed that and hit the trail! I did get a 2 person mostly to use as a one person and have plenty of room, but have once used it with one of my friends which was pretty tight. So do n't highly recommend sleeping two unless you ’ re comfortable sleeping really close together. There is room for a backpack and some gear under each vestibule so completely doable. All and all I really like this tent it's versatile, practical, and light.

I used this tent for the first time in the Smokey Mountains this summer( summer '24) and a strong thunderstorm hit us for about 16 hours. There were four other people with different tents... all had water that permeated except for my Stormbreak( I guess you could say it really did Break the Storm- sorry of the pun). The tent cover provides a good amount of cover around the tent and is supported off the tent keeping water from coming through where items may be touching the wall. Additionally, the floor of the tent comes up probably 6- 8 '' which helped keep the flowing water around my tent OUT( Most of the other tents in our group got water in them from water flowing around their tent vs the rainfall itself). Two of the other guys in our group ended up buying my tent after they saw how well it held up. I would 100% recommend this tent to anyone.

I recently got the Limestone for an weekend camping trip and I love. It was rainy and windy all weekend but my tent stayed bone dry. Even better its got these great pockets for stashing away your gear. You can tell they really thought out every aspect of this tent.

Large and spacious. Large doors in front and smaller one in back was very useful. Coming from a smaller `` 4 person tent ''( sierra South fork) this was more difficult to put up for one person. Mainly because the poles are threaded through the top. This Required the tent and poles to be lifted while simultaneously bending them into place eyelets in the corners. Clips to the top might be easier to build the tent. The rainfly has a droop over the main vestibule where rain collects. No leaks observed but it makes entering during rainfall risky. We camped during a bright moon. The kiwi color made the tent seem while on the inside. Drying out took somewhat long due to some of the double over layers( zipper covers, flaps etc) trapping water. Pack size and pole design makes it just too big to be a good packing tent. [ A little over two years ago we bought this tent for car camping. When it first arrived we were impressed by how light it was. We set it up which was easy for one person and noticed how spacious this tent is! Personally I am coming from the two person dome tent land but we decided we wanted to be able to stand up to change and have a queen raised air mattress. There is so much room in this tent it ’s amazing. The fly goes to the ground so in a few severe thunderstorm we stayed dry. Wind 30 mph gusts might blow it down the back side in a headwind but if you anchor the guy lines it will withstand it. The walls are almost completely screens which could be a weakness in the design. We tent to camp into late September in northern Maine in New Hampshire and some nights get into the 30 ’s but we have heavy sleeping bags for those nights. The vestibule is so large we have played cards by sitting in two chairs and having a small table set up. Overall we are very happy with the quality and design of this tent!

Got a good deal on what looked like a returned item. Zipper quality is impressive and set up is fast and easy. Only negative is without the rain canopy it ’s wide open screening. That only was an issue when it was hot outside and needed privacy.

[ Nice tent at first blush. Easy to put up. Plenty of space. Brand has a long history of super durable outdoor gear. The stow bag is awesome and leaves room for a footprint if you use one. And pretty darn affordable. There ’s an odd detail on the rain fly at the front vestibule. The pole sleeve creates a kind of gutter that will push water back toward the tent and seam in the fly. I have yet to test the tent in a real howler so I can ’ t say if the issue is of serious concern. Also I think the older model had clear plastic on the fly windows. This model has kind of a cheesy flap instead which is disappointing. Overall though me and the fam love the tent and look forward to many great adventures in it for years to come.

Our young family loves a day at the beach and this sun shelter is the ultimate homebase! The open floor allows the kids to play in the sand while still in the shade and then we can zip it up to keep our valuables somewhat safe when it's time to go play in the water. We have easily hosted six seated adults plus several kids sitting on the sand for lunch. We 've had it set- up in moderate 10- 15mph winds- no issue with some stakes and using coolers/gear bags to weight down the corners. We love it!

It was so much fun buying this tent. All the features I need, and it delivers on all of them. Lights work great, set up in under 5 minutes. First night we had driving rain, hail, and strong Florida winds for several hours. Several Colman Weather- Tec tents in our camp allowed water inside, but my Core was dry as a bone.

just got this six person lighted tent. Went camping this past weekend with it for the first time. Really easy to set up. Love the room on the inside. Love the lighting system. Great size for my son and I to take camping trips throughout the Northwoods of Wisconsin and wherever our cub scouting adventures take us. The tent is extremely fast to set up and take down. It is weather tight and very roomy. The lights are great but don ’ t forget the batteries. I received the six- person tent yesterday. My husband and I unpacked it last night and set it up in about five minutes. We did not use the guidelines but staked it. I wanted to try it out, so I slept in it overnight. During the night, the wind picked up, and the only thing I noticed is we must not have had the sides tightened up enough because the wind kept slapping the sides of the tent, which you heard much of the night.
