After much trial and error, I have found that the Moji Lantern is the best overall for use in the Boundary Waters- they are rouged and have found that they stand up to a high water/wet environment. The variable brightnesses on the Moji means that I can have the lantern on all nights if needed. They are lite weight, very durable and dependable. I bought my first ones many years ago, and just bought two more, the old ones are in service to date still. The attached hanging system can attach to almost anything. They can face down or up, they are worth the investment and will give many years of service.

They do take some care to unravel but if you 're careful when you pack them up each time it's not really a problem( we 've used them over 10 times with no issues).
