Able to wear them traveling all day and be comfortable but they do make my feet sweat a lot. The green color is nice but impossible to keep clean. The Peakfreak was my final choice as I found that the cushioning level matched that of Hoka, without the bulk. I completed the trek and was compelled to write this review as the Peakfreak surpassed my expectations. The trek was around 70 miles with unforgiving terrain. This shoe softened the impact on my low back and foot pads, yet was sturdy for the uneven trail. We hiked through snow, rivers, mud and my feet remained dry. The soles gripped every rock and slippery root. My Peakfreaks kept me upright while others were slipping and losing traction. Oh, and no blisters and no break- in necessary. The only recommendation is to order 1/2 size up. I ’ m a true 9 1/2 and my toes were a bit crammed. I bought a size 10 and it fit perfectly.

To be precise, I measure 23cm so technically a 6, and after going up a whole size, I found that they ’ ll be okay to wear with thinner socks( especially once I break them in). I bought these for a recent trip to Banff, Canada and they were amazing. They arrived only a few days before the trip so I was worried I would have issues with breaking them in but no problems! We did an 11 mile hike the second day of wearing them and I only got one tiny blister( which let ’s be honest, probably would have happened anyway). I wore them multiple times on my trip and every time I was so happy with them. Highly recommend!

These are super comfortable and very lightweight for a mid hiking shoe. The outer is only slightly tougher than a normal running shoe, but waterproof. Of course the outsole is much grippier. I live in a cold and icy place. I was needing a boot that I did n't need to lace up, kept my toes a bit more warm, and had traction. This boot is that! I previously was wearing my blundstones but on- 20 F nights I just was n't having it anymore! I 've now been wearing these Bogs for a few weeks and in( almost) all sorts of condition. They were definitely a bit stiff the first 2 weeks I 'd say. But now my foot easily slips in and out of the shoe. I noticed a little bit of rubbing on my ankle in those first two weeks but that has gone away. I have high arches and usually put some inserts into my shoes. I tried that for a bit with these and found it to be a little tight. They are comfortable without the inserts but I might try again in the future once they are completely broken in. Overall, happy with my purchase! I have only kind of slipped on the ice once- which is great great improvement from before! Woohoo!

[ I needed waterproof trail running shoes for winter runs. I 'm very careful about proper shoe fit and function since my runs typically are about five miles, three days a week. These were very comfy right out of the box! I wore them, with yaktrax cleats, on a 5. 5 mile trail run, 450 foot elevation gain, and mostly snow, slush, mud and mud puddles on top of rocky terrain. The shoes were the best! My feet stayed warm and dry, the shoes felt sturdy and yet allowed my feet to flex for up hill and down hill running; Plenty of space in the toe box. I have sensitive feet and was surprised the arch was supportive enough and that the heel area was narrow enough to keep heel in place. Thanks SOREL for supplying me with work shoes! This is my fourth pair of Sorel boots. I have worn them for years. These shoes get beat up and worn out. I have gotten rid of one pair, a suede pair, because after years of being in the elements they were not looking very professional anymore- but the shoe was still holding up minus the, understandably, worn down tread on the ball of the foot. The Emelie can be slipped on and off! Totally love this feature in a bootie. I ’ m still breaking them in but the foot shape that Sorel uses fits my “ pizza ” feet well( thinner mid foot and slightly wider toe splay). I sized 1/2 down for the Emelie because the last pair of boots I bought broke in so well that they are a tad floppy now. The Emelie is surprisingly still a tad big with thin compression socks but will be fine once I switch to my winter compressions. Love adding this to my collection!

The color of this shoe is interesting; it 's not a true purple but is more of a purple- taupe and looks great paired with almost any other color. This shoe definitely stands out in a crowd!
