I love that the suspension is very comfortable for walking a mile plus from a bus stop or train station( I have only used it on one trip so far but had to walk a mile from the train station to my hotel and this was fine) but it also zips away( which I did when I left the bag at that hotel because it was too early to check in). This is my first day pack with internal frame. It makes it very comfortable to wear, balancing the weight down onto my hips( even unbelted and even wearing it on one shoulder) and the frame with mesh back keeps my back cooler even in 93 degree humid weather. The pockets are n't ideal. The top front pocket is very small( and if you put a heavy phone there it is unbalanced). The internal( water or laptop) pocket is deep- so anything small put in there is lost to posterity( beware). The water bottle pockets on the side fit a smaller water bottle easily but tougher with anything larger. I used it as a carry on( personal item) and no complaints from the flight attendants about how it fit under the seat in front of me, though the top did stick out a little and I found it to be a bit in the way of stretching my lets. It fit a ton of stuff- I had an umbrella and rain jacket, wallet, cosmetic size bag with electronic cables and earbuds, cosmetic bag with actual cosmetics, book, magazine, two journals, an airport shopping bag( small), and small cosmetic bag with meds in there. There is a helpful clip to attach your neck pillow! It also has a rain cover in a pouch at the bottom that was very useful in a downpour, if a little hard to extract and put in place on the fly.

[ I got this pack for longer day hikes, and specifically for an upcoming trip. Have n't used it for said trip yet, but have used it on local hikes to get a good feel for it and it checks all my boxes. It's uncomplicated( just one main compartment with some exterior storage) and I love the padded hipbelt. Also like the fact that there's compatibility for a water bladder. The side pockets stretch enough to accommodate the large nalgene, and there's a small zipper compartment at top for keys, wallet, etc.

This is my first pack from this company and it looks to be the best quality materials and feels solid. I think this pack will last me a long time on many different adventures.

I originally bought this pack to walk the Camino de Santiago France, 500 miles. But, it was too tall to use as a carry on bag on the airline. I did train with it and walked a lot of miles through mountains, etc.. Very comfortable and well designed. Everything functions well.

I ’ ve taken this backpack to two different 30 day trips. And I have been through every single situation, terrain( minus snow), 10+ flights( a few made made check in bag) camped, hiked, walked through beaches, visited hostels. Hours in airports and this backpack is A beast. I stuff the heck out of this bag. It packs like a 50L. The top most pocket is so big. Can fit a toiletry bag and more. Still looks new, quality is superb. Passport fits perfectly in hip pockets and snacks and earbud case. Very light and comfortable. My bag was roughly 25- 40 pounds at all times. Perfect for long trips( 10+ days)

Worked well last year on the Camino Frances over 41 days. Easy to carry and organize over several weeks. Nothing got wet, but I had mostly light rain. No rips or tears. I carried about 20 lbs, including water. I bought the pack in 2022 and used it from April to June in France and Spain. Great pack.

I ’ ve had a Kanken backpack for YEARS that I love especially for just running errands around town, but I ’ ve been finding it a bit small for when I ’ m out hiking or on day trips. I knew I wanted a roll top bag so that I could have the option of more space, and I ’ m so so happy with this bag. Especially bc of the zipper closure which provides extra security when the bag is filled to the brim. The bag is lightweight, material is easy to clean, and is very comfortable to wear even when packed full!

I was looking for a new pack that had more volume than my current hiking day pack that could also function as a bag for errands and other outings. I love that it's foldable and you can stuff it full or just have a few things in it. So far it has accompanied me to the farmer's market, grocery store, and the park, is incredibly comfortable and secure when riding my bike. I ca n't wait to get more use out of it.

I purchased my foldsack because I have a High Coast 18 that I absolutely adore but needed a rest. When I saw this pack for the first time, I knew I had to have it! The first thing that I gravitated towards was the zipper closure combined with the fold over hook. Which was a great feature because I use my pack for just about everything so this comes in handy if I fill my pack to the brim and need extra security. It is waterproof and Eco friendly... game changer! I am 5' 2 so I thought it would look huge on my back but it looks similar to my 18L. I am in love with all the color options but I chose Rowan Red which is close to a deep orange. I 'll still take my High Coast 18 on treks but this High Coast Foldsack 24 is riding shotgun from now on.

This pack can carry loads for longer trails. I appreciate the firm hipbelts. They do not slip and allow you to adjust your pack properly. I would like to see more access to main compartment, but it is similar to thru hiking packs by design.

I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

As an ultralight Backpacker, I leave my honest review here. First, I have to say that I was excited when I got this backpack; the fabrics and the implementation are outstanding excellent job Black Diamond. The fast backpack idea with those extra shoulder straps makes this backpack ideal. Not only is this one waterproof or almost, but it is merely one of the best backpacks I ever owned. Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. If I had a bigger one, I could guarantee it would never fit inside.

The Large size Betalight45 fits me very well. The shoulder straps are comfortable with a loaded pack and the hip belt sits properly to take some weight. I 'm 6' 3 '', 180lbs, my torso is 21. 5- 22 '' according to BD instructions. I measured the actual volume of the main bag to be 46L and still able to roll closed. Side/back pockets will be additional capacity.

Just hiked Mt Kilimanjaro with the Beta Light 45 pack. Super light for a long trek. The harness is amazingly comfortable and with the pockets great for cameras, GoPro's, etc... It handled the rain well, 100% of my items remaining dry. Highly recommend this versatile pack.

I bought this right before leaving for a two week in Costa Rica. I figured it would be rainy in Costa Rica even though it was the dry season. It still rained and got this bag wet. I bought this type of roll down water bag design because I have used just the bags for deep water soloing climbing and they work great. This bag worked just perfect to keep all my stuff dry. Mind you, I did n't jump into pools of water with it on and was n't stuck in downpours. I gave it only 4 stars because I did n't fully test it, however I 'm sure it would work just fine. Make sure you deflate the majority of the air out so you can roll it down tighter. Also, make sure to keep it rolled down evenly when securing the buckles. It will unravel some on one side and you would n't want it loose on one side to keep the water out. I 'm a male- 6ft 180lbs and the pack fits great!

I just got this pack a couple of minutes ago. It is very spacious and can hold one sleeping bag, plus a couple of extra things. Please beware though, it says tomato is the only color they have and that's what I ordered. Although, I received a black and gray pack. But, I 'm okay with that because I like that color. Back to the point though, I got the wrong color. It is a very good backpack overall. Also, its weather resistant. Its mostly, i would say, 95% a rubber type material. It seems very durable and feels like it can take a beating. 4 of 5 stars because DICK 'S sent the wrong color and not even a color advertised. I 'm not rating lower because I actually preferred black and gray.

This bag was never advertised as water proof keep that in mind. I use this as a day bag, it has performed flawlessly so far through torrential rain, sleet and snow. Do make sure you get atleast three tight rolls on the top. I 'm giving it 4 stars because of the length of time I 've had it, about 5 months. It's been on many day hikes and a couple overnighters. I usually do n't go over 12- 15 pounds, I pack a full hammock setup. Which includes tarp and underquilt as well as my Bushcrater trio, pack ax, a saw and a medium size knife as well as food and water and other small items. All said and done it works and yes Outdoor Products stands behind their gear, I 've had warranty replacement on one of my kids school bags with no questions asked.
