My husband and I were trying to decide between the Base Camp Voyager Duffel and the original Base Camp Duffel, and we ultimately decided on the Voyager version, and we are very happy with the decision. We are using the bag mostly for weekend or road trips where we can both pack our belongings in the same bag instead of rugged trips( ex: camping or backpacking) or long trips where bags may need to be checked. The material for the Voyager is not as thick and sturdy as the original version, but it's still plenty sturdy. We are also not rough on our bags though. I the backpack straps, which can easily be removed with buckles and tucked away whereas with the original version, the backpack straps have to be looped through and are more cumbersome. It is also comfortable to wear as a backpack for short periods. The one downside to the bag is that the internal organization zipped pockets do n't have a lot of room or stretch, so you ca n't fit a lot of items in there. I also wish there were internal compression straps to keep the contents in position since they can shuffle around a lot when not fully packed. Overall, we love the bag, and it has become our go- to bag for our trips!

I ’ ve only had one issue where I lost a strap and even though I was at fault customer support took care of me and got a new one right out. Bought it 2 years ago and it's holding beautifully. Handles have developed some patina but a lot of the bag looks like new. Main compartment zipper is reinforced and does not het floppy/wrinkly, making zipping/unzipping easier and getting into the bag easier. Plenty of compartments and and carry styles thanks to many attachment loops for shoulder belt and handles. Handles do dig in into shoulders though if you carry heavy stuff. Also, magnets in to keep the handles together hold the handles quite poorly. But it's really all the nitpicks I can think of.

After 3 months, one of the side pocket zipper- pull broke off. After reaching out to Peak design they directed me to go through the warranty process. I received a brand new replacement bag within a few weeks. It was a pretty seamless process. Overall the bag is fantastic. Love all the pockets and carrying versatility. This bag is AWESOME! I travel a lot and have tried a variety of different styles and types of bags to use as my carry- on luggage and until now had not found one that was anything but just 'okay'. They were either too big or too small, hard to carry with my other luggage, lacked compartments I needed, etc. However this one is amazing! It's big enough to carry everything I need including my laptop, a change of clothes, some toiletries, my tablet and phone, and anything else I might want to take with me. Plus it has some many sections that I keep everything organized. And one of my favorite things about it is that it slides over the handle of my suitcase making it a breeze to carry with my other luggage. And aside from traveling, it's been the perfect bag to take for little day trips we take to the zoo, museum, fairs, and anywhere else my family and I like to go on a 'Family Day'. Plus it's beautiful, the material is soft and high quality, and it's easy to clean. There's only one thing and it's not really an issue, but more of a warning, and that's you have to pay attention and not put things in the one side pouch that is meant to slide over suitcase handles or you 'll end up with whatever you put in there falling right out. So overall I have to say this bag really is superb and definitely worth the cost. If you 're looking for the perfect large bag, get one of these and I promise you wo n't be disappointed!

Away Luggage sent me a Large Featherlight Tote in Amaro Brown for free in exchange for my honest feedback! Let's start with the size of this bag, I was pleasantly surprised that it was much larger than I anticipated. I could very easily fit at least a weeks worth of stuff in here and I am not a light packer by any means! This bag is high quality all around, all of the seams were done well, the straps are nice and thick, and the zippers all glided very smoothly; it feels like it will last a long time. I love that inside it has multiple different compartments and on the outside it also has the slip to sit on top of your luggage. I think this is a worthy investment piece, it should last you a long time and you wo n't have to worry about it falling apart. Even the texture of the outside of the bag is noteworthy, I spilled a little on it and it was very easy to wipe off without leaving a stain. Definitely better quality than most bags I have so I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the market for a new travel bag!

I own a lot of duffle bags. I ’ m a seasonal worker in Alaska and the lighter and tougher the bag that can hold my gear the better. A lot of if not most duffel bags on the market can convert to a backpack, but I don ’ t know of any other duffles that can convert to a huge tote!? My other duffel bags I used when I travel to/from Alaska sit for the six months until I need them. I know this is gon na be used weekly when we go for quick overnight car camping on the flats or grocery trips in Canada and especially laundry. It's is higher quality than Osprey or The North Face duffles I own and more useful than both. There's a big mesh pocket inside the bag to separate smaller things. it ’s a very well thought out bag and looks pretty cool. I ’ ll be using this for years to come.

This bag's versatility is unmatched from others I 've owned and used. I never imagined I 'd buy another after my old Marmot bag but Nemo said, `` hold my beer... '', and here I am... looking to get a smaller size for different travel requirements. Internal straps snug down loads inside, while external straps give you options on how to transport the duffel. I 've been looking for a bigger duffel for a trip planning to Greece and wow this fits the bill. I bought the 100L and it's amazing how big this is. So far I have a few 60- 80L Duffel from TNF and Patagonia and love those two. In comparison, this is not as thick as my TNF, but definitely thicker than Patagonia. 2nd, once a few items get tossed in, it's Free Standing!!! With the additional support on the sides, I can easily toss things in. So far I planned a few camping/climbing/biking trips and this thing fits all my gear and clothe I needed. [ I brought the Thule Chasm along for a cross- country road trip( Denver- Maryland- up to New York) and then used it as a carry- on for a flight to the Dominican Republic — and it fit everything I needed, keeping it dry and contained. The material is super sturdy and easily withstood being tossed around in and out of rental cars, overhead bins, and sandy hotel rooms. I also really like the calming color( easy to spot) and the handle design, which makes it comfortable to pull through airports or grab quickly out of a trunk. It ’s compact enough to fit in an overhead bin but still has plenty of space for both wedding attire and beach attire for a full week. One thing to note: it only has wheels on one side. While that means fewer things that can break, it makes adding luggage on top a little harder to navigate. The main zipper is durable and I like that its tucked under a flap, keeping everything weather resistant- especially nice when traveling in the tropics with frequent passing rain. I just picked the 30L duffel up for upcoming international travel and a Grand Canyon rafting trip. After reading and watching so many reviews on adventure/travel duffels, these new Double Hauls have all the right standard features and then elevate above the competition with the 3 distinct modes. Having it in hand, these things are built like a tank, but are sleek enough for regular travel( if you don ’ t mind an outdoorsy vibe). I was a little worried that the 30L would be too small and didn ’ t want to jump all the way to a 55L. I despise checking luggage. Turns out you can fill this almost to the brim, then cinch down the interior luggage straps over your gear and compress the whole thing with the exterior side buckles. Amazing. The stiffeners really do work to keep the bag open/structured. The backpack straps are comfortable and stay out of the way when in tote mode. The tote carry handles are a good size and snap together well. Pockets are minimal, but a good size. And the storage bag/packing cube is a brilliant touch when attached inside the bag for more organization. The only thing I would improve so far are the tote carry handles. They ’ re uncomfortable on my shoulder. A traditional padded handle wrap would be an easy fix. And/or adding in a wide shoulder strap to attach to the duffel cinch buckles.

This bag is super versatile and durable. I use it as my diaper bag/purse/gym bag/carryall. It fits my skates, my daughters skates and all our winter gear. Can stay outside in the snow because it ’s waterproof which is perfect. Comfortable straps on your shoulder no matter which way you wear it and weight in bag. We recently brought it to the beach. It ’s refreshing not having sand stick to it while bring it inside. I can ’ t rave enough about how great this bag is!

I was a little skeptical at 1st when it came to the different `` modes '' but boy was I wrong. I thought the tote mode would be just gimmicky but its the mode that Ive used the most so far! I got the 30L and it is HUGE. It's easy to just throw anything inside the bag when you have it in tote mode and just go. Its nice when you 're not so worried about having it organized and just hauling stuff and leaving it in the car such as putting my ski gear inside. But when I took it on a flight, it packs as nicely when I started using packing cubes and carried it like a bag pack. I had 4 days worth of clothes and it still has an insane amount of space left( not sure if I 'm just a minimalist). Either way, I 'm gon na abuse this duffel. It's a go to now for any `` hauls ''. It's gon na compliment a smaller carryon bagpack.
