I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. I love how lightweight it is, and that is compacts down if it warms up during the day and I need to pack it away for my commute home. It is also roomy enough for layering underneath, and I enjoy the big pocket for storage in the back. 10/10 would recommend.

I am obsessed with the Bessie Packable Jacket. It ’s everything I didn ’ t know I needed — lightweight, incredibly warm for how thin it is, and so easy to travel with. I love how it packs into itself and even turns into a pillow( seriously genius for flights or road trips). The fit is relaxed but still flattering, and the cinch at the waist gives it shape when I want it. I ’ ve worn it in rain, wind, and chilly mornings, and it holds up perfectly. The recycled materials are a huge plus — I feel good wearing it in more ways than one! Also, shoutout to the pockets — there are more than enough and they ’ re actually functional. This jacket goes everywhere with me now. Can ’ t recommend it enough!

This jacket definitely rivals my Patagonia nanopuffer in warmth and comfort. The color is a perfect shade of brown IMO. I 'm 5'10 '' and it hits right at my waist. I wound up going with a size small because it's rather boxy( I 'm usually a M/L). Great travel jacket that packs down into nothing. Even wore it out into the rain and I stayed remarkably dry. Granted, I was running from the car to the store, but enough that I would 've felt it had it not been water resistant. I would definitely recommend. This brand is new to me, but I 'm now excited to see what else they got cookin'.

Super cute color and a comfy fit- it is a little boxy but that works for my frame and style. Fits true to size- could probably size down for a more fitted look.

[ The Coldfront is warmer than expected, much more into the down parka range than the down sweater end of things. The fit is comparable to other OR jackets, maybe just slightly roomier for an extra layer. I am 5 ’ 10 ”, 145 lbs, and the small fits well though the sleeves could use an extra 1/2 ” or so

[ Bought on black friday and is the warmest jacket that I own. The down feels full and dense, and cold dry days are no longer an issue, I 'm very careful to keep it away from the rain. Fit was accurate, perfect for myself.

I love this jacket. I looks great and has more room than the typical OR jacket. I am 6 ft and ordered the large and I have room for some layers under the coat which was not typical of my other OR jackets.

It is quite warm does a great job; I generally wear a L but went for the Medium here based on the recommendation that this would be slightly bigger than a regular sized one and I did n't plan on having multiple layers under it. If layering under it, then go for the regular size. It is heavier than my L Arcteryx Cerium LT, which will be my go to for packing and traveling. But overall, very pleased with what this does.

[ I waited for the price to come down on this, and my patience was rewarded. This is my second Waypoint Crew purchase. They are exceedingly soft and warm. I think they 're so soft that they do n't feel like wool, but I also love that they are 100% merino, and is one of the main reasons I purchased. This one looks really smart too, with the dark colored contrasting cuffs and collar. Love it.

I bought this in both a medium& large... decided to keep the large even though I 'm petite because I want to be able to wear sweaters underneath. The Medium was a bit too fitted. 4 stars instead of 5 only because the white markings on the sleeve already peeled off after just wearing a few times.

I love this coat. It is beautiful, warm, and exactly what I was looking for. I have multiple Fjallraven coats, and this is the only one I have had to size down in( XS instead of a S), as it does run pretty large.

You can immediately feel the quality craftsmanship in this piece as soon as you touch it. When in bitter conditions and needing to hunker down, the inner sections cover my mouth and nose and are soft against my face. For a synthetic piece, I was impressed by how much the insulation reminded me of down. It ’s light and warmed up quickly within moments of me having it on. The massive interior drop pockets are awesome and large enough to effortlessly stash my bulky gloves. The hand pockets are deep, so I don ’ t have to worry about fitting my whole hand inside to warm up if I forget gloves. The stretchy wrist cuffs completely seal out drafts, yet I barely notice they are there. This is my preferred jacket on wet winter days.

I got this about a month ago to prepare for cooler days and it works great. Warm and comfortable.
A basic winter wardrobe typically includes a variety of layering options such as insulated jackets, warm sweaters, and thermal tops. It's important to have both outerwear for protection against the elements and comfortable base layers for warmth. Accessories like hats, gloves, and scarves can also enhance your winter attire.
When selecting winter clothing, look for materials that provide insulation and moisture-wicking properties. Fabrics like down, fleece, and synthetic insulation are popular for their warmth and lightweight characteristics. Additionally, consider water-resistant or waterproof materials for outer layers to keep you dry in snowy or rainy conditions.
The best styles of jackets for winter wear include insulated parkas, down jackets, and fleece-lined options. Each style offers different levels of warmth and protection, so consider your activities and the climate when choosing. Longer jackets can provide extra coverage, while shorter styles may be more versatile for everyday wear.
Effective layering for winter weather involves combining base layers, insulating layers, and outer shells. Start with moisture-wicking base layers to keep sweat away from your skin, add insulating layers for warmth, and finish with a weather-resistant outer layer to protect against wind and precipitation. This approach allows you to adjust your clothing based on changing temperatures and activity levels.
When selecting winter footwear, prioritize insulation, waterproofing, and traction. Look for boots that provide warmth without sacrificing comfort, and ensure they have a good grip for icy conditions. Additionally, consider the height of the boots for added protection against snow and slush.
