My head is on the big side, and this hat is perfectly roomy and comfortable. It ’s great for summer! I wear it in the pool to keep the sun out of my eyes, and it dries quickly and the chlorine hasn ’ t caused any discoloration. I ’ ve also been able to toss it in the washing machine without incident( but I do air dry it). I did cut the strings off( just not my thing!), but they ’ re great for the people who want to secure it a bit better. It stays just fine without them!

[ I do n't like a lot of weight on my head because I suffer from chronic migraines. I love how much sun protection this hat offers for so little weight. I also love the structure of the hat. I had another brand hat that was lightweight, but it was very floppy. It just did n't hold any kind of shape. I have had other hats with nice structure, but it was a lot of weight on my head. This is the second hat in this style that I have purchased. The first one I ’ ve worn for hiking, water aerobics, walking and general use. [ The hat seems to fit well as I do have a relatively large head. It blocks sun well. Given I live in Florida, I have not been able to test in the rain yet. I read conflicting reviews on how waterproof it is. I plan to use for long hime in Portugal later this month. If I encounter torrential downpours, I will also have a waterproof hood to wear over top. I think the color I purchased is fine for what I need.
