Fantastic product. It's exactly what it looks like. Very very warm. I sweat in it after like 10 minutes unless it's dangerously cold.( below 0) It's like a thermal sock for your head. I 've bought at least 6 of these. Given a few out, lost one, have one for back up. Excellent for seriously cold weather or when I ride my motorcycle and wear a helmet. Ca n't praise it enough. Thank you and well done carhartt. I love it!
5
BrianV
I did n't know they made a grey one!! Sweet I 'll be buying one soon. I love this product. I wear a petzl strato helmet for tree work, and a Stihl Advance for ground work. The strato is a buckled bike style safety helmet and Stihl is a hard hat type helmet. The `` ninja' mask as I call works with both helmets. I also wear it under my baseball hats. This is my favorite winter work accessory. It makes those freezing cold mornings not suck so much. One of the best features is that it quickly dries. I throw mine on my dash and after a ten minute trip to a different job site it's dry and ready to wear again.

5

Used them on a recent skiing trip. Handled the snow and ice great. The gloves came with a little sleeve of oil sealer. Make sure you use it, helps water proof the palms and keep the leather supple.
5

[ For starters, Hestra ’s size selection allows for a more precise fit. Any 3 finger model is a slight compromise over a mitt for warmth, but you can always bring your index finger in as needed. They are reasonably warm, though not expedition gloves, and I expect to throw in warmers for temps in the low single digits( F), or below. The wrist/cuff adjustments function well. The soft leather makes for a very supple feel and were fairly nimble when tinkering with gear. The wrist strap/handcuffs were overkill for me and swapped with a traditional straps. Have n't owned long enough to attest to the durablity.

Used these gloves for 1 day between 14 and 28 deg F with windgusts and snow machines on making icy and windy conditions for a much lower feels like temp. First off, the GoreTex in these gloves holds up to its reputation, the ice/snow from the snow machines stuck to everything and ev eventually would melt but my gloves on the inside didnt feel wet at all even once. Wore these without the liner and they are comfortable, but not that warm. My hands were cold but not super uncomfortably cold by lunch without the liner in. Put the liner in after going back out and it made a world of difference. My hands stayed warm the rest of the day even after the sun went down and temperature dropped significantly. After a full day of use on the slopes carrying ski poles most of the time, there is no sign of any use on these gloves and i am hopeful they keep holding up for me. They were fairly expensive at full price, but seem to be worth it so far.

I have used these for the last 3 snow shoveling events and they are great. They came with glove liners which, although not easy to get on, kept my hands warm on a day with below zero windchills. I have also used them without the liners on days that were somewhat warmer and they still kept my hands warm and dry. They are flexible enough to securely grip a shovel or a snow brush without any problem.

I bought this balaclava for KC Chiefs game and then for snow skiing. Most balaclavas I have tried are way too hot and cover too much of the face. This Micro Clava is the perfect thickness for a person who is seldom cold and bleeds a lot of heat, so when it is cold enough to require head and neck covering this hood fits the bill perfectly. The face opening of this clava is large enough that I can comfortably wear it without covering my nose and mouth.

I was invited to write this review for a chance to win a cool hundo. But I have absolutely no problem saying these gloves are the warmest I ’ ve ever put on. Like hot boxes! Pretty sure they are appropriate for the coldest weather New England has to offer. If youre going subzero, arctic, whose to say? But you ’ ll be fine skiing the east. I ’ ve heard that black diamond quality has taken a nose dive, but these gloves seem solidly constructed with double or triple stitching along leather seams. They are still too new to tell how they will hold up to abuse. Hoping for the best.

They smelled really good and they were looking really nice so I took them out warm for the first day when it was really really cold and they were great amazing probably the best clothes I ’ ve ever had super durable super soft, pretty warm, and then someone stole them when I set them down for a minute😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I joined the ski patrol two years ago, and have skied for about 40 years now. We typically do n't spend money on nice things for work, because they get destroyed. I have had cold hands for years, and just suffered through it. I finally sprung for a pair of your Spark gloves, and I was warm on the hill yesterday. I ca n't tell you how happy I am to finally be able to keep warm on the hill. They also look good as well. I will be wearing them on patrol duty until they fall apart. Thank you again for the hook up.

I use these gloves for projects where i need the dexterity of fingers. Like the spark mitts, these had a tight wrist area to keep the snow and cold out and warm and roomy finger area. Also like the leash strap on each glove so they hang off your wrist when you take them off.( No more losing them in the snow)

Finally found a pair of mittens that have a removable liner( for washing) that stays put when you put mittens on and off. Fleece liner is comfortable, not bunchy, and so warm. Cuffs are comfortable and make these extra warm. Adjustable strap makes the fit just right. I have very cold hands and these are the best mittens I 've found. Also love the tough exterior on the palm side-- seem like they will be long lasting. Hestra is my new favorite brand-- I also bought the white leather ones for cross- country skiing.

I work outside throughout the winter and the hardest thing to do is keep my fingers warm when it gets 20 degrees or less. I decided to try these mittens for the times I do n't need fingers( gloves). They are excellent. I added a Hot Hands hand warmer to each mitten and they kept my fingers toasty. I could even take the mittens off, use my fingers to put some nuts on bolts, and put the mittens back on.... No problem. No more painfully cold fingers.

Love these gloves! Quality build, warm and comfortable. As someone with a large amount of abduction with my thumb, I often find that I quickly wear gloves out between the index finger and thumb. These seem to accommodate the majority of my thumb's range of motion and are reinforced where I typically end up tearing gloves. I am hopeful that these will last me a decade or more.

I do love the new gloves. I used the size chart and I feel like the XL was the right size for me. The look and material are of a high quality. They keep me warm in cold conditions skiing. [ Second pair I bought for my son as he is going on a ski trip out west. He swears by his older pair and I figured he needed a 'fresh' looking pair on the slopes. They keep him so warm, no need for glove warmers at all, the length cover his wrist, keeping out the cold and snow. Wrist closure can be adjusted. And the mitten keepers are a great feature, along with the hoops so the mittens can be attached to his coat.

Ordered a pair to try them out in the Matte Black+ ChromaPop Glacier Photochromic Copper Blue Mirror Lens. Liked them so much I just ordered 3 more pairs for all my kit bags so I never forget them. I ’ m out in the back country, skiing and snowshoeing a month strait during the winter in the Sierra Nevadas and these glasses have held up great with constant abuse.
5
Barton
appreciate these glasses for the clarity and as an alternative to goggles while in the backcountry. Easy to remove the shields when fogging is an issue and the fit is excellent.
5
Bashar
I got these glasses mostly for mountaineering. They ’ re so stylish that I wear them pretty much anywhere unlike other glacier glasses. They ’ re also no large shades that you don ’ t wan na wear unless you ’ re doing some sport activity. These glasses are just the right size and shape that make them quite stylish even day to day. The crispness of the glasses are phenomenal. I ’ ve never owned a pair that is as sharp. The best part is the auto dimming feature. Honestly, life changing. Can wear these glasses in varying conditions from shaded areas to bright sunlight and you won ’ t have to take them off or switch them up. Don ’ t waste your money on other shades. This is a pretty versatile pair that is of absolute quality.

Kenan M.
I went with the photochromic glacier lenses. My eyes are very sensitive to sunlight, so I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a pair of real, actual glacier glasses. I have a few other pairs of Smith sunglasses and ski goggles with 10% VLT lenses, and I always have to squint and end up with dry, sore eyes after a day in the snow. For my first test, I took them skinning up Palmer Glacier this weekend. It was a full- sun day, and my eyes were very comfortable; I was barely squinting and made it back to the car feeling like I was n't going to go blind. I was also very impressed with the clarity and contrast of the snow; I could see every little detail in the snow and up on the mountain. Although I bought these mostly for ski mountaineering, I think I 'm going to also get a pair of Smith Pursuit's with the photochromic lenses purely for spring ski days and winter backcountry. I imagine the wider coverage will be a little better for field- of- view and look cooler under my Smith helmet.

I was looking for optimal clarity, low light and high light coverage, in a comfortable all day- day after day sunglass... These do it all. Over the years I 've owned sunglasses from a lot of brands. These might be the best, usually if you want the best lenses you go after glass fishing sunglasses as they have their focus on optical clarity in varying light. BUT these knock those out of the park. Living in 6 months of snow I 've been putting these to work on pre dawn light, flat light, vertigo inducing clouds and fog banks as well as full sun bluebird days skinning. I think the photochromic( I got the glacier photochromic copper blue mirror) is what helps in low light. It is picking up the blue from the snow in shadows. So I 'm seeing definition on snow that I have n't picked up on with other sunglasses. In full sun the lenses change quickly and have the usual Chromapop magic- Oakley prizm. Whatever color enhancement you want to compare. The frames on these are lighter than most and also have a gripier/spongier feel. The temples are bendable so they can be fit to your head and the megol rubber grip make them `` lock '' in place and feel very secure. The times you really do n't want to lose them the strap is added security/bonus. All that makes them comfortable all day with or without hats etc. The coverage is perfect with the side shields. I get no light leaking through and a comfortable fit but also like I can take the side shields off if I want. Fogging, I was concerned these would fog on heavy snow/wet days when moving uphill and sweating with those side shields in place- but I have n't had an issue. It seems like keeping the internal side of the lens is key there as that's where all the tech is on these glasses.

[ Been looking for mittens to ski in as I 've never found a glove/liner combination that works. My wife and kids have mittens, so why does n't anyone make them for men? Bought these because they were half the price of others and I saw a ski instructor wearing a pair. Soft and supple leather. 4- 5 trips out, and totally waterproof in the slushy winter we 've had in my area. Warm? Sort of. If I was using these as work gloves, maybe. With a smartwool liner, though, kept me toasty down into the lower 20s. Quality wise looks great. The leather looks like it will hold up much better than any fabric. Overall very happy with the purchase. Wish they had some more insulation, but well- worth it for the price and hopefully durability.
