The gloves do a great job lightly insulating, they are n't waterproof but still do a decent job keeping your hands dry. I 've hiked with them, they make good driving mitts too. They are pretty windproof too which makes them the most useful in colder windy weather. My only complaint is if you 're wearing a watch or some other form of wrist accessory, the wrist parts of the glove do n't do a great job accommodating for that. Other than that, great mitts.

I have Reynaud ’s and can never keep my hands warm. These mittens aren ’ t perfect, I still get cold fingers, but they are the best I ’ ve had in a very long time. The inner mittens are great on their own. I use them primarily for running, but they would be great for skiing and other winter activities. I liked them so much I bought a second pair. They ’ re big and a bit bulky, but they ’ re warm, well made. I have been wearing the inner mittens in warmer temps using trekking poles. The most extreme weather I used them in was snowshoeing in- 25- 28 °F with a good 10- 15 mph wind. The mittens were so warm that at times I had to remove them so my hands could cool off. These came just in time for me to shovel my driveway. I thought the elements were on the backs of the hands so was uneasy with gripping a snow shovel, but it must have been okay. I did n't think with the elements on the palms of the hands, that my hands would stay warm. But, when I got inside and took them off, my hands were warm. I thought they would be good based on the specs- solid amount of synthetic insulation, durable palms. They exceeded what I hoped due to the hi pile inner lining. Had them bushwhacking/ breaking up deep snow this winter on some ADK high peaks and even when I had to squeeze out my glove liners from the snow dumping off everything and getting everywhere the pile lining does not collapse/wet out and allowed me to keep hands warm/ evaporate some of that wet. The outers were frozen due to all the water, and I was still fine. So they get major points for damp/icy/cold NE winters because they deal well with the constant moisture. Used them on several overnights as well and they were still functional handling a couple days of it. Can sleep with the removable liners on overnight to dry if needed. Palms have held up to various spruce/fir scrub swimming, some ice ax use, and clawing through deep snow. Seems pretty good.

I have owned these mittens through two seasons now. Through that time they have held up very well through trees, being dragged on the ground, and carrying around sharp edges of a snowboard. I waited on making a review to see how they held up over time after being completely soaked and dried numerous times, and evaluate the wear on the palm. Both have impressed, but not as much as their warming capability. The thing that will separate these from other mittens is their ability to warm while wet. They are not as waterproof as some other gloves as this price point, but they are the warmest mittens I have ever used and they retain that warming ability even when the inside is saturated. My suggestion would be an alternative to velcro for the wrist cuff as snow gets caught on it very easily, making it difficult to use( draw string?). These gloves have been used between temps of 15- 45 degrees F on the west and east coast in clear and stormy conditions. Picture displays palm wear after 1. 5 seasons of heavy use.

My wife got a pair of these after I had some for a while. Surprisingly warm glove considering the weight, and if you 're using them for running or hiking in the winter, I 've found them to keep me comfortable to around 5°F. Only thing to keep in mind is that they are n't waterproof so on warmer snowy days they can end up getting wet.

They are taking care of my hands for driving, walking, and recreating in the cold weather. I can throw them in my bag and count on them when I am headed to my kid's soccer games. I have circulation issues in my hands and they can be very painful in the cold weather. These gloves protect me from experiencing that discomfort. I bought these for a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in March( temps 10- 40 degrees, snowy). They kept my hands warm and dry! Even after my hands were cold and starting to tingle, putting on the mittens warmed them up to a normal temperature. Love the wrist straps and extra little loop that helps you pull them on.

Love these gloves. I recently wore them for a weekend skiing in Vermont and they were great. I love the longer length and loops to keep them in place so I do n't worry about dropping them on the chair lift if I take them off to get something out of my pocket. Kept me warm with hot hands warmers for hours in 10 degree weather skiing. Definitely recommend

I use these to snowboard and they 're sooo warm. I take them off and let them hang from the wrist when I 'm waiting for/on the lift. I wear wrist guards and was in between L and XL. On the wrist, the width felt like the same size but the XL felt longer in the fingers area

These gloves are almost perfect. Great grip and dexterity, plus just enough insulation on the back of the hand to take the chill off while, hiking, walking the dog, or working in cool weather. The only improvement for me would be a slightly wider opening and little less space around my thumb and the base of my hand.

I bought these for biathlon as well as warmer weather ice climbing. So far I 've only used them for biathlon. Loading ammunition, swapping magazines and trigger feel are all excellent with these gloves. I 've practiced in these gloves at- 9 C and they are just warm enough. I plan on racing in these down to- 10. I have no doubt they 'll feel great once I get on the ice. A very slight con, and it could just be the shape of my hand, is that while all the fingers fit perfect I do have some extra material at the end of my thumbs.
