Bought the 3K poles when first available many years ago for mountain hiking. Now a senior( still using same poles), but need for added stability and safety. These poles continue to exceed my needs. Excellent quality materials, top to tips. Cork and EVA GRIP designed correctly- longer length reduces n3ed to constantly adjust overall pole length. Real rubber tips increase traction for better safety. NOT a cheap clay/rubber compound that looks like rubber, but when cold or wet becomes slippery and not as stable. Needs can change over time. Still using my original poles. The added safety and stability become more important as the years add up. They were excellent years ago and continue to be so in Lightweight, strong, superb grips, tips and easy length adjustments in senior years. Superior design. Materials and construction. Great for the price. I 'm a hydration pack fanatic because I use them several times a week. This one is quite good. The good: Really well made and durable materials. It is a really versatile hydration pack that can be used for hiking, cycling, etc. It has some internal pockets in the main compartment that really distributes your stuff and the weight well and keeps the pack well balanced. The back pads are nice and plush. The straps are stout. The external stuff pockets on the side/front are very useful. I like how the waist straps tuck away if you are not using them. Trekking pole straps/compression straps are nice. The pack is really streamlined, fits snug against the body, and is very stable for activity. The stuff that can be improved: The hydration bladder and bite valve are not the best, but they do function decent and for the price it is not a big deal. It would be nice to have some sort of velcro on the large external stuff pocket just to secure your stuff a little.
