I have been wearing the XA PRO for what seems like forever. The most important feature of any shoe is how it fits YOUR particular foot and the XA PRO really seems made for my feet. The shoe is deep enough to accommodate my custom orthotics and are sturdy enough to protect my feet for walking, biking or hiking. I have several pairs and wear them every day. My best guess is that I have been wearing Salomon's for 20 years and I have never had issues with quality or durability. I love the quick lace system and have never had issues with hot spots or sore spots on the tops of my feet.

Loved the previous versions of the Speedgoat, but the 6 felt “ off ” to me, and had durability issues so I switched over to a different brand. Luckily the Speedgoat 7 fixes many of my previous complaints and is a light, cushioned trail shoe that still provides a good ground feel. I have long, square shaped feet and the toe box felt slightly narrow; sizing up made the whole shoe too big, so I stuck with my traditional size and did a heel lock lace tie which helped keep the foot in place!

The grip on the shoe gives me great traction, sometimes almost too much as I have unfortunately not gotten used to lifting my foot as much as needed for trails. I would highly recommend for light trails. I have n't taken on a more technical `` mountain hike/run '' yet but I think it would hold up well. They are n't waterproof, so I would n't go running through the creek, but they seemed to do well on wet leaves.

[ Honestly I just like Nike athletic clothing. This Nike Trail T is no different. I ’ m not sure what aspect makes it “ trail worthy ” however I ’ m confident if it involves running it ’s more than merely adequate. I got a large which is just a bit big on me, but I often run somewhere between medium and large so it ’s no big deal. The big two factors are checked with this shirt: non chafing and sweat wicking. Unfortunately it ’s winter here, which makes for mostly treadmill runs. I can say I ’ m excited to see what this can do out in the wild.

I just ran a 50km race with 5, 000 feet of elevation gain and loss wearing these shoes. I was nervous that the toe box height would be too short, but that didn ’ t end up being an issue at all. I didn ’ t get a single blister after getting them from other trail shoes. The front toe shield definitely saved my big toe more than once after slamming into some rocks. These shoes also have deep treads which makes them perfect for training in all types of conditions. I 've used them for both short 3- mile runs on city streets as well as for general cross- training in the gym. They were perfect for both scenarios and have become my go to training shoes. The only drawback is that they are not water resistant. I had stepped in a shallow puddle and despite my foot not being fully submerged, water still seeped in. That said, they also performed well on the slippery roads due to their deep treads. So just watch your step!

Not a great time to train outdoors but these shoes are also perfect for indoor cross- training. I ordered a size up like recommended on the sizing chart and they fit perfectly. While looking at running shoes Brooks comes up as a great choice and I have to agree. They are comfortable with good padding and are so light you won ’ t believe it. The Caldera 8 hold the foot and helps maintain a good stride while feeling solid. [ The Caldera 8 trail shoes might become my new go to for short to intermediate trail runs( 5- 10K). Time will tell because I 'm not going on many bonafide trail runs since it's winter here in Colorado. The overall stability of the shoe along with the reinforced, super knobby soles made it really comfortable and secure for trails ranging from gravel to rocky/rooted mountain trails. The fit was true, but a bit snug, which seem to be common for the trail runners I own. The shoe is really light given the wide base, thick sole, and as advertised, the most cushioning that Brooks has to offer. I 'm glad they include a heel pull tab, which makes it easier to pull on the shoe if you are using a thicker sock for colder runs. I 've never had trail runners with this thick of a midsole or raised sidewalls but my feet and running stride easily adapted to this shoe, no break- in time required... I just ran out the door without any problems. With so much sidewall and the toe cap, the design of the shoe does n't look flexible, but it surprisingly is. The mesh breathable upper was easy to clean off mud, thorns, etc and you ca n't go wrong with black, gray and white for a mens shoe. I would n't change anything about the Caldera 8, every feature has it's purpose for trail runs, but wearers should be aware... when I wore these shoes for casual, daily outings, I had to be aware of the sticky lugs on the soles: `` TrailTack green '' rubber Brooks calls them- they 're great for traction where you need sure- footing but the grippy soles can get caught on cracks, carpets, even your gas pedal, if you are n't expecting it.

These felt a little tight in the uppers for the 1st couple of runs then I fell in love with them and they have been my go to ever since! I usually purchase a size 10 1/2 to an 11 in women ’s and I do prefer a tighter fit. A men ’s 8 1/2 have worked well for me. I have an average width foot and the toe box fit is great. I ’ m 30+ miles in and these have kept me sure footed and the cushion has kept me from any stone bruises! I look forward to many more miles in these! The colors have just been a fun bonus, as the darker teal hasn ’ t gotten dirty looking.

[ I had not worn Brooks running shoes before so this was my introduction. I 've been a runner for over 40 years and ran many races- 5K, 10K, 10 Miler, 1/2, and Full Marathons. Now I 'm out there to only compete with myself. These shoes felt really good right away! Lots of cushioning( which I like) and support. I do n't choose running shoes based on how they look but these are nice- looking shoes. It took me a run or two to get used to the difference between my other shoes but now they feel so comfortable. My time has improved a bit also. I need a wide- toe box and these were perfect. I have only run in them in cold weather so I 'm not sure about how they function in the heat. I also only ran on paved roads. PROS: Good support, Plenty of room in the toe box, Plenty of cushioning, lighter than expected, Very comfortable CONS: The tongue is flimsy so you have to hold onto it to put the shoe on. That would not be a deal- breaker for me though.

[ After running several miles I can say these are amongst my favorite shoes for trail running. The soles are thick with good cushion with each step. The laces secure tight to my foot with zero sliding around. I have one other pair I currently run in and plan on using these in my rotation going forward. I ’ m also a huge fan of the aesthetic, in fact they ’ re probably my favorite running shoe in terms of appearance and colorway. If I was to purchase another pair, however, I would order a half size up as the toe box is slightly more narrow and my big toe rubs slightly. One major thing to know is there is not a lot of arch support which would make them less ideal if you have a flatter foot. The shoes work well for me and I ’ d happily purchase them again when it ’s time for a new pair.

[ I typically wear a size 10 or 10. 5 depending on the brand. The size 10 Catamount 4, fit snuggly and kept my heel locked in place, while still allowing for plenty of wiggle room in the toes. Took these out of the box and went on a quick 8 mile run the first day( paved road) and another 7 miles the following day( paved& some loose gravel). The shoes feel lighter on my feet than I expected, very responsive, and provide a ton of cushioning for the heel. The fabric is lightweight& breathable, which kept my feet from overheating towards the end of runs. It ’s been very dry and warm lately; so, I wasn ’ t able to test how they hold up in inclement weather. The traction is great on loose gravel and paved roads alike. I ’ m a big fan of the color scheme though I know bright colors aren ’ t for everyone. My only complaint is the tongue feels a bit thin and has a tendency to get bunched up when you are putting on the shoes. This isn ’ t a sticking point in the slightest because if you hold onto the tongue while sliding feet into shoes, it ’s no longer a problem. Overall I ’ m extremely satisfied with these shoes and quickly becoming my new go- to.

I 've been getting these for years( the speedcross series). It is a slightly narrow fit, so if you have wide feet, it might be uncomfortable. The size is spot on- I 'm an 8. 5 and get an 8. 5( when usually with sneakers I go up to a 9). I love the gore- tex as I do a lot of hiking, and I can just saunter right through puddles and it's no big deal. Will continue to buy these!

[ My first initial thought once getting the Nike ReactX Pegasus Trail 5 out of the box was the sleek yet stand out design and ALL THAT FOAM. Once getting it on feet it felt as comfortable and welcoming as putting a glove on. This shoe is meant for hiking in mind however it is also just a great overall everyday shoe. Going to to the store, going on a walk at my local dog park or even just a nice change of shoes from my normal Jordan ’s or Dunk lows! The shoe feels well put together overall. At first glance the carbon fiber- esque overlay on the inside middle of the shoe doesn ’ t seem like it would do much but as someone who has wider feet naturally it helped keep my foot compressed and on the bed of the shoe where it should be. As well as keeping the shape of the shoe the same for more wears and longer life span for the shoe. I would have to say my only gripe is the back tabs loop used to more comfortably put on the seems flimsy at first and I did refrain from using it in the worries of ripping or damaging the back. Maybe a thicker loop or removal of the strap for other features or design would be my suggestion. Overrall however I feel extremely fortunate I was able to wear these shoes first hand and try them on. It ’ ll definitely be my contender when it comes to any future hiking, trail or everyday shoe!

I just ordered my 4th pair of these. I love them and have completed several trail events ranging from 1/1 marathon distance to 50k wearing them. I even wore them when I ran the Chicago marathon last October, Honolulu Marathon in December and the Rock and Roll half marathon in Vegas in February- they were great on pavement too. I go through shoes pretty quickly, but these hold up well especially if you ’ re not a wrecking crew with your shoes, which I admit is a good description of me. I highly recommend them.

I always go for the XA Pro 3D. I don ’ t normally go for the Goretex. As others have mentioned, this and other models are longer than in previous years. I ’ ve always gone with the same size& had to size down a half size for all shoes this year. The Goretex liner is built into the upper tongue area better than in previous years- no more sock to slip into- or it wouldn ’ t be an option for me. The toe cap& sole are key for features for me. Fortunately the sides( near the ankle) are lower- some of the previous Goretex models were too high. The lacing system doesn ’ t seem as durable as previous models& I hope it holds up. Thats my only concern. The stiff soles( that I want) make them a bit less comfortable than some of the lighter shoes but these are great for legit hiking.

I don ’ t run trails a lot but I like having light and comfortable shoes for hikes. These are an excellent choice, the foam offers plenty of protection in rocky terrain but its not so high that you feel unstable. Very first hike with these, I came across snow and mud and am pretty happy with how it held up, great traction and no wet feet. Will probably get a customized version when that ’s available or stock up on alternate colorways.

I ’ ve only had these shoes for a short time, but so far I ’ m very impressed. I previously wore the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and loved them, so I was a little hesitant to try something new. The fit and overall feel are similar enough that the transition has been easy, with no significant break- in period for me. I have high arches, a higher instep, and toes that like room to spread when I walk. I also tend to notice pressure points and fit issues quickly. These shoes provide a nice balance of stability and flexibility without feeling overly rigid or overly cushioned. They feel secure through the midfoot while still allowing natural foot movement, which is important for my walking/running style. For sizing reference, I wore a size 8 in my Pegasus Trail 4 GORE- TEX and chose an 8. 5 in these. I ’ ve experienced no rubbing, hot spots, or heel issues so far, and they ’ ve been comfortable from the first wear. The traction and overall ride feel well suited for walking on a mix of pavement, road shoulders, and uneven terrain. My only wish is that there were more color options available when I ordered. I recently noticed the customization option and would have loved that feature from the start. In fact, I ’ m already considering picking up a second pair as a backup because I like them that much and hope Nike keeps this model around for a long time.

I love that they ’ re not super narrow at the toe area like some running shoes, my toes can breathe and allows me to feel more comfortable running. They have great cushion at the bottom that allow a boost/little jump when you ’ re running for support. The bottom has tracks that allow you to run on different surfaces and not slip. The grip really well. I do wish they had more color ways, as the ones they have aren ’ t my favorite but the shoe itself is definitely worth if you ’ re a cross country runner or like to run ion different surfaces. True to size!

Great Customer service. I went to this location on the recommendation from a gym member on where to get good shoes. I could n't remember the brand. But within a couple minutes Jalen in the athletic shoe department knew the shoes I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable about all the brands the store carried and knew of several other brands I had in mind. This store is n't a convenient location for me. But I will return for the customer experience. The cashier Isaiah was helpful at contacting the Manager Chloe to come over when I wanted to compliment how well Jalen had assisted me with my purchase.
