The weather can be bipolar very often, so if it's 35 degrees outside at the beginning of the day and hot later, I like the fact that I can carry a lightweight jacket around and stuff it in my backpack when I 'm not wearing it. Unlike some puff jackets, they can be very heavy and bulky. The jacket is ideal for 35+ degree weather or a little under if you layer well underneath. Also, keep in mind my 35- degree weather may feel warmer to others who live in areas that get lots of snow and wind. I have n't had the chance to wash it, but the material seems like it will hold up well in a normal wash cycle. I think I may have needed to go to a smaller size, I had plenty of space in the jacket zipped.

I have n't worn it in the rain, but I 'm sure it will pass that test perfectly as well. I live in the interior of BC, Canada, where it ’s often brisk in the mornings and evenings. I absolutely love this jacket! It ’s true to size and fits appropriately snug but not tight. It has two zippers along the teeth, which is super helpful if you ’ re crouching down or generally stretching the jacket in some fashion,( you can move that bottom zipper up to open the jacket a bit, so it ’s not as taut at the bottom). The hood and fur are removable but I haven ’ t taken either off. The jacket is quite warm and comfy, even without the heat on! I highly recommend. It ’s fashionable yet way more beneficial than your average jacket. Plus, you can turn the light off if you don ’ t want people to know you ’ ve got the heat on. I am a small or medium in all my other coats, jackets and tops. This parka in olive is exactly like the pictures in my opinion. It is heavy, good quality and beautiful. I ordered a size medium based upon the size chart and it is VERY fitted in the hips. I am an athletic build- 150lbs with lots of muscle, however I have wider hips than my waist( hourglass) for sure and this REALLY hugs my hips. Fits well in the upper body. Quite possibly large would have worked better, especially since the battery sits on the hips( tightest portion for me). The jacket is beautiful and works well, however the sizing seems to run at least 1- 1. 5 sizes smaller than average. Can not wear bulky layers with this size for sure. Would love at least an exchange option for size issues on open box items.

I 'm 5' 2 100lbs and usually wear an XS and this jacket fits me well with extra room for layering. I love the Turtle Dove color as it is a creamy/vanilla shade that pairs well with any snow pant color. Amazing features- snow skirt, thumb cut outs, water proof and wind proof, zippers up to my chin, well insulated, and, multiple pockets. This jacket is one of the best quality ski jackets on the market now. I would say it's comparable to Helly Hansen's Alphelia jacket in terms of fit and features but for a lower price point. It even has a similar fit to the Arc'teryx jackets if you cinch the waistline in and tuck it. You can get away with wearing no layers underneath this jacket in 30F weather. I 've already gotten many compliments and will be wearing this to back to back ski trips in Vermont and Colorado! I agree with other reviews that a snow helmet can not fit underneath the hood, but that is NOT a con for me as wearing a hood while skiing usually obstructs my view anyway.

This jacket is so comfortable and warm. I bought it for skiing and I love it. The material is soft. I like how it zips up high to keep my neck warm while still leaving room to wear a neck gaiter. Hence this second review, following up to share the wonderful customer care I have received after notifying the company of my dissatisfaction with the insulation factor in this jacket. Please be advised that this parka is not suitable for extremely cold conditions on its own. As the company explains, and of which I was completely unaware, this parka needs a lighter jacket under- layer in cold climates. It it roomy enough to comfortably accommodate under layers, which does indeed create a much warmer experience in extreme temperatures; a common occurrence where I live. We routinely experience temperatures well below zero.

This Parka is perfect! First time wearing it, I was on a hike up a 4, 000' mountain with single tempts and a stiff wind. I was completely cozy. No drafts up the bottom thanks to the added waist closure. With the hood and zipper up, my head was very protected. I have a small and there was enough room to wear a base layer and soft shell underneath. Love all the pockets, that are where they should be. It is also breathable which is a bonus when climbing up. I 'm 5' 5 '', 130lbs with broad shoulders and this fits me well! I cant quite fit a hoodie under it, but longs sleeves no problem. I like that the pockets are lined too. The yellow does show dirt quickly.

Perfect weight for cold( not frigid) days. Easy to move in, very comfortable. Purchased for my 11 year old and the S fits her well( slightly big, on purpose). It also fits me but is snug at the hips( I am size 6/28 in jeans).

I bought this shell to match my carbide bib and I love it! I 'm 5' 5 115lbs and the XS is a tailored fit while still roomy enough to layer up with a fleece and thick puffy jacket. This jacket is light and would be great on its own for spring skiing. Taped seams, good ventilation, and lots of quality details. The tree line colour is beautiful and I 've had so many compliments at the resorts. I 've owned several OR shells over the past few years and this is my favourite! Worth the buy

I like the flexibility and softness of the fabric and the fit is good. Ihave not warn it yet in snowy or rainy conditions but hopefully it will hold up well. I am 5' 3 '' and sleeves are a little longer. Its great OR makes various lengths of pants. It would be nice to have shells and jackets in petite sizes. I 'm not into the look of puffer jackets, but needed a warm goose down and landed on this design which I like better than the traditional design. The fit is great, not too loose not too tight. But, I debated keeping it for a while. I will be using this while speed skating on the outdoor oval in Lake Placid. However, it's been very cold here in North Texas and I 've been ice skating a lot, where the rinks are kept extremely cold. This jacket is like wearing a hug. It is super cozy warm. It's definitely become my new favorite piece to wear anytime I 'm cold. Excellent insulation while super lightweight. Plus, it's a unique design for being a puffer. Does n't look bulky. Get it!

Great jacket, lightweight and very warm. I use it for snowboarding as an under layer for my shell and casually around town. Seems to be shedding a few feathers, but not too much concern at this point. The BEST part about this is it does not hold odors like polyester. I can wear this jacket for weeks without concern. Similar Patagonia jackets you wear once and they are basically ruined. Personally, I think the `` light '' version is better for technical wear, while the `` regular '' is cuter and more fashion- forward.

I am an adventure supervisor at a therapeutic boarding school in Northwest Montana, and I use this jacket to lead hiking, biking, and climbing trips in cool temperatures. I also took this jacket camping with me in Glacier National Park when the temperatures got down into the teens, so I was able to compare its warmth to some of my other jackets. Although it loses some of its warmth without a hood, it kept me surprisingly warm in those low temps. Overall, however, I found that the biggest positive to this jacket is the durable material! The stretchdown feels more resistant to nicks and tearing, and I can see this jacket lasting a long time. It's also a plus for me that the down is RDS certified-- yay for animal welfare! I would not bring this as my only puffy jacket when backpacking because I would need the extra warmth that a hood brings. However, this layer would be really great for climbing in moderately cool temperatures because of how durable the material would be on the rock, or as a bonus layer to stuff in a pack for a little extra warmth. I gave this jacket four stars, mostly because of the fit. I am 5' 5 '', 120lbs, and I ordered a small because I normally like to layer underneath my puffy jackets. However, a small is too big on me even with layers underneath, and it also has a boxy fit around the shoulders. I would order an XS next time for sure!

[ I bought this to wear skiing and it is beautiful and warm. I am usually a size 8 or medium in tops but ordered a size 10( as my last ski jacket was a 10). It was a little to big so I ended up ordering a size 8. I love it!
