I got these pants in the spring for field work( I work in environment). I ended up wearing them all summer and was impressed how well they handled bushwacking in thick forest and shrubs without getting shredded. The big pockets are very useful to keep your things within reach at all time. In the fall I went for a 5- day backpacking trip and I was absolutely impressed by their versatility. We had some hot days, and the vents allowed me to stay comfortable. We had a night of pouring rain and the next day everybody got their pants soaked by the wet vegetation. The G- 1000 fabric was just water repellant enough to keep me dry. Finally we went over a snowy mountain pass, and the hooks allowed me to tie the pants to my laces and keep the snow from getting into my boots. Overall the only thing these pants could n't handle was the darn chipmunk that chewed a hole through the pocket one night to get at the couple peanuts that were left in there!

This was the first piece I ever owned from Fjallraven and remains the best pair of hiking pants I 've ever had. The first time I really used them, I was backpacking in the Sierras in the middle of summer and though I might use a lighter pair in that particular climate, the fact that I did n't feel like I was melting was huge. The side vents helped with heat management, and the durability of the fabric made me feel invincible! The more I use them, the more rugged they look and I just love that.

The Keb trouser is my favorite Fjallraven pant. I sometimes call it a technical sweat pant. It is THAT comfortable. These are my go- to pants for colder mountain biking temperatures and spring skiing. The botton system at the ankle makes for a good jogger style fit. Or you can loosen it up to fit over a bigger boot. Despite the two zipper vents I find that these trousers start to feel a bit too toasty for temps 65 degrees farenheit and warmer. Check out the abisko lite trekking trouser for a comparable style made with a lighter weight fabric.

I ’ m hard on gear, especially clothing when in the mountains. After loving my first pair of Kebs, I bought a second and they ’ re quickly replacing most of my softshell- style mountain pants. The side zips are great for venting the legs on sunny days on the glacier. I ’ ve worn these through dumping snow and miserable rain and have never had an issue so long as you keep up with the water- proofing recommendations. The design is well though out with stretchy material for comfortable movement in spots and reinforced material where necessary for durability.

Really loving these pants. Ordered them after having had a pair of the Vidda Pro for a while now and wanted to try a new style. Originally ordered the wrong size and love how easy and quick the exchange process was.

Tested out the new UL Premonition during my training in Salt Lake City and my recent Makalu expedition. Two of the best features of the jacket are its weight and packability — it is incredibly light and easy to pack into my backpack, especially when carrying a lot of gear and equipment up to higher camps. The jacket shielded me from rain, snow, and high winds at higher altitudes. It ’s highly mobile and easy to wear. Particularly love the internal long zippered pocket — perfect for storing important devices like iPhone or Garmin inReach.

[ Employee of mountainhardwear] This is my go- to lightweight waterproof shell. Basically like a feather in my backpack, there is no reason not to bring it. Alpine climbing, mountain biking, hustle footing. I live in the PNW and rain is almost guaranteed on every outing- got ta have this.

5 Jayrae__
I bought this in the early summer bc I was in desperate need of a new rain jacket( my old one was literally crumbling apart!). This past weekend I assisted in the rescue 7 people who were capsized in a pontoon boat. I dove into the water with phone and all in the pocket of this jacket. After the scary event ended I took my phone out of my pocket and was shocked to still see the phone screen activated! The phone still needed about 7 hours to completely dry out and let me charge it but it ’s completely fine now. Obviously this jacket isn ’ t meant to be submerged but the saving the phone of it all felt worth mentioning. This jacket is also WARM and I don ’ t feel like raindrops are still making me cold through the jacket. It ’s also a superb wind breaker. I wore it on a 5k ft hike and the wind at the top was bearable in this jacket. It ’s expensive but it WORKS.

bomb proof on a storm day but also vents well for backcountry. Versatile and very easy to move in.

I really like this jacket as it is lightweight and performs well for backcountry skiing. It does have a little bit of a tight fit around the mid- section, which does n't bother me as a rather slim person, but I could see it being tough for bigger folks. It definitely works well with a backpack, which I 'm assuming is why it is tighter in the mid- section.

I 'm 5ft 2, 130lbs, and wear an xs. The high- rise fit is flattering and I love how warm the lining is. I wear them climbing all of the time and they never slide down like other climbing pants.

5 MLG
I have several pairs of the Dynama/2 pants but wanted something warmer for cooler temps. These are great! Warm but not hot so once I get moving I don ’ t get overheated. Plenty of room to add a this base layer for really cold days. I am 5 ’ 4 ”, 122lbs. Usually wear an XS in Dynama/2 crop pants, and a S in full length pants. I found the small the most comfortable in these lined pants. The fit is soft and very comfortable around the waist, They look nice on too, made for a woman ’s body.

5 LJW
I bought these because I already had several pairs of the Dynama high rise pants and I wanted something for colder weather. I bought the same size that I wear in other Dynama patns. The cut is very flattering and still allows full range of motion for climbing. The lining is sooo soft and comfy and I love the drawstring waist! My only complaint is that the Corozo Nut color is not at all as pictured — it's more of a gold/dark khaki color than the warm brown that I was expecting which was disappointing. If I had known I probably would have gotten a different color.

5 Leana
Super warm and very comfortable! Does not absorb water, perfect for snowy conditions. I love the option to make the ankles tight or leave them for a bootcut fit. Very high quality, and I enjoy them very much for hiking and for climbing! True to size.

I am thrilled with this pair of pants. The product is very warm, comfortable, and stylish. It delivered more than I expected. I ordered another one for my daughter.

5 OR Employee Sam - Customer Service
I 've been using this for a couple months now and really like it! I 've found it cuts ~75- 80% of felt wind and even as a softshell shrugs occasional rain pretty well. Mine wet out after about 25 minutes in light/medium rain and when soaked was n't transferring much water to my baselayer. Perfect when you really should 've brought a Helium Rain but you did n't. While not quite breathable enough for me when running unless its real cold( I 'm a warm person) it's great for everything less aerobic than that for me. The cuffs are elastic on the inside of your wrist which works well with a watch. The single hood cinch works well to keep your hood on while minimizing adjustments. Pocket linings double as vents, are big enough for a smartphone or light gloves, and are not sewn down at the top allowing you to stash your map or mail in a pinch. The Hood stow works well when you plan to use it, but I did find myself just tucking the hood inside if I was in a rush and could n't be bothered to roll it up. The hem cinch is located on the right side and is easy to adjust one handed and has low profile hardware which is fine under a backpack belt. I 'm 5'11/ 210#/ 43 '' chest and wear a Men's Large size tshirt and find the size large fits me perfectly with a trim fit. Key for me with fit is that in my other OR jackets like the Foray and Superstrand I 've needed to size up to XL to have the hem fit over my butt. Not so with the Ferrosi- the stretchiness of the fabric and cut works perfectly for me. I normally wear an echo or vigor top underneath mine and layer any insulation over. If I wanted to put insulation under the Ferrosi I would need to size up once. The jacket is lighter, and more flattering than my other windshell from another company. Combined with the comfiness of the stretch I 've found myself grabbing it when just going out running errands and it's almost always at the top of my pack heading out into the woods now.

It fits nicely, is sleek and comfortable. I can move around easily, and as an outer layer it offers exactly what I need.

5 Alexandre P
Perfect softshell! I have been using it for daily commute, rock climbing and everything in between. It breaths nicely and cuts the wind just enough to protect you from the element. The fabric is nice and stretchy. With a base layer or insulated jacket under it, it is really versatile. Everybody can benefit from that product. Jacket is true to size

5 Arion H
I really enjoy this material and the stretch it gives. Tons of uses: gym, walkabout town, Florida in November, shell over down, New Mexico summer nights or August winds, and early morning range days. I appreciate the extra attention to detail in the areas where someone would have a lot of contact or friction like carrying a pack.

The Treeline Rain Shell has been a great addition to my outdoor gear. It wears well and repels rain and wind excellently. I recommend purchasing this product to my friends and others looking for a lightweight shell.

I live in the Columbia River Gorge and work and play in the Cascades. This jacket does a great job of protecting me from rain, wind or snow no matter what activity I 'm doing.

5 Caleb M.
This jacket has been nothing but bomber! It acts as a great insulator but even more so for holding out the water! I got it right before the rainy season and it has worked great hiking on the Cumberland trail.

5 Henry A.
I was kinda worried about buying such a light rain coat because something that typically annoys me is the loud noise that they make when they walk! This one did not make any such noise and it keeps the water out great. Also packs up super small so it ’s ideal for traveling

Frequently Asked Questions For Best Climbing Clothes

When selecting climbing clothes, look for features that enhance mobility and comfort. Fabrics that offer breathability and moisture-wicking properties are essential to keep you dry during intense activities. Additionally, consider clothing with stretchable materials to allow for a full range of motion, as well as durable construction to withstand the rigors of climbing. UV protection and weather resistance can also be beneficial for outdoor climbing adventures.

To choose the right size for climbing apparel, it's important to consider both fit and mobility. Look for clothing that allows for a full range of motion, as climbing often requires stretching and reaching. Check the sizing charts provided by the manufacturer, as sizes can vary between brands. Additionally, consider trying on different styles to see which fits best with your body shape and climbing needs.

Climbing clothes are typically made from a variety of durable and comfortable materials designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor activities. Common fabrics include nylon and polyester, which offer strength and resistance to abrasion, while also being lightweight. Many climbing garments incorporate stretch materials to enhance mobility and comfort during movement. Additionally, moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties are often included to help manage sweat and keep climbers comfortable in varying conditions.

Yes, different styles of climbing clothes are designed to meet the specific demands of various climbing activities. For example, lightweight and breathable materials are ideal for sport climbing, while durable and abrasion-resistant fabrics are better suited for trad climbing and multi-pitch routes. Additionally, features like moisture-wicking properties and stretch can enhance comfort and mobility, making them essential for bouldering or alpine climbing. Choosing the right style can help improve performance and overall enjoyment during your climbing adventures.

Breathability is crucial in climbing clothing as it helps regulate body temperature and moisture during physical activity. When climbing, your body generates heat and sweat, so materials that allow for airflow can enhance comfort and performance. Breathable fabrics help wick moisture away from the skin, reducing the risk of overheating and keeping you dry. This is especially important in varying weather conditions and during extended climbs.

UV-resistant climbing apparel offers protection against harmful ultraviolet rays, which can be particularly important during long days spent outdoors. These garments are designed to block a significant amount of UV radiation, helping to reduce the risk of sunburn and long-term skin damage. Additionally, many UV-resistant fabrics are lightweight and breathable, ensuring comfort and mobility while climbing. This combination of protection and comfort makes them a practical choice for outdoor enthusiasts.

Yes, climbing clothes are often designed with versatility in mind, making them suitable for various outdoor activities. Many of these garments feature durable materials, moisture-wicking properties, and flexibility, which can enhance comfort during hiking, camping, or other adventurous pursuits. Additionally, the lightweight and breathable designs help regulate temperature, making them ideal for a range of outdoor conditions.

When selecting climbing clothes for different seasons, consider the climate and weather conditions you will encounter. In warmer months, lightweight, breathable fabrics that wick moisture are ideal, while in colder seasons, layering with insulating materials and windproof or waterproof outer layers can help maintain warmth and protect against the elements. Additionally, look for features such as stretchability for ease of movement and durability to withstand rough terrain. Always prioritize comfort and functionality to enhance your climbing experience.

To ensure your climbing clothes provide the right range of motion, look for garments made from stretchy, breathable materials that allow for flexibility. Features such as articulated joints and gusseted designs can enhance mobility, making it easier to reach and maneuver during climbs. Additionally, consider the fit; a snug but not restrictive fit will help you move freely without excess fabric getting in the way. Lastly, check for any specific design elements that cater to climbing activities, as these can further improve your overall comfort and performance.

When choosing between pants and shorts for climbing, consider factors like weather conditions, terrain, and personal comfort. Pants typically offer more protection from abrasions, sun exposure, and cold temperatures, making them suitable for cooler climates or rugged environments. On the other hand, shorts provide greater breathability and freedom of movement, which can be advantageous in warmer weather or during intense climbs. Ultimately, the choice depends on your climbing style and the specific conditions you expect to encounter.
